Excellent for dog. Close to shopping area. Very clean, well equipped, comfortable house.

  • "House in a lovely quiet part of Cupar."

Good for exploring area. However a few things need improvement. Although house clean overall the kitchen blinds badly need cleaning. There was a lot of extra things available ie toiletries and kitchen Items. The floor between the bedroom and bathroom squeaks terrible so everyone wakes when anyone has a bathroom visit in middle of night. The hot water was very poor. Had to boil kettle to get hot water to wash dishes as no dish washer. However this is a lovely house and we loved our stay. We will definitely stay again and with these few improvements the house would be perfect.

Spotlessly clean with many extra touches such as tissues and soaps. Bungalow is positioned well in Cupar with town close by and lovely walks just outside the back door. Kitchen is a little tired but otherwise perfect place to stay.

Thank you for your review Lynn. Riverside walk into the town is lovely and picturesque. Some updates to the house have been scheduled. Property Owner

  • "Really lovely accommodation."

Tastefully decorated throughout. Loved the shower layout. Nice touches throughout - for example -the little soap and wash up dispensers are great. Comfortable, modern living/dining area, well-equipped kitchen and two comfortable bedrooms with plenty of wardrobe space. The entire accommodation was spotless and the gardens nicely maintained. Good parking in driveway. Nice, convenient location, close to town centre but backing onto the River Eden giving it a more rural feel. Would definitely return if we are in the area again. Good communication from management company.

Thank you for your lovely review Sandra. The house is a great location for shops, public transport and exploring Fife. Our management company always enjoy hearing how happy guests are with their accommodation so many thanks for mentioning it. Property Owner

Short walk into Cupar which has lots of shops and attractions. Many pubs dog friendly. Enjoyed a nice Xmas here and appreciated the gifts left under the Xmas tree, including one for our dog. Lots of walks in local area. We'll worth a visit.

Thank you for your review Mary. Glad you enjoyed your Xmas break. Cupar is a super base for exploring Fife with both long and short walks in abundance. Property Owner

  • "Property easily found and accessible, clean and tidy on arrival, nice area with good links to Cupar and surrounding area."

Main bedroom decor a bit pachy, no mattress or pillow protectors, twin room only one bed had mattress protector, could do with extra seat in sitting room we were 4 adults so a bit squashed on sofa, we emailed some queries which were dealt with promptly. Lovely ideal location we enjoyed our stay would recommend to non drivers as great bus and train links within walking distance.

Thank you for your comments Paul. Most amenities such as shops and cafes are easily accessible from the house including rail and bus links. Property Owner

  • "The property was much nicer than the photos show."

We were highly impressed with the lay out, and the beautiful walk beyond the garden gate was so impressive. The garden and walk together was great for the dogs. The only thing that we would like to point out for correction was the lay out of the kitchen cabinets. My friend hit her head twice, and I hit it once. Maybe be some thought could be put into rearranging the cabinet. Yes, we would recommend this house, everything was straight forward from the moment we booked, till the moment we left. Thank you. Terri & Shirley

Thank you for your feedback Terri. The kitchen is due some updating in the near future. The river side walk is very pleasant and a great place to walk dogs. It's also a very "friendly"walk as local dog walkers are always happy to chat. Property Owner

  • "Lovely house, enjoyed the walk-in shower."

In the end we did not bring our dog along with us, but the garden is well suited. Only downside would be that you cannot open a back door to let a dog out into the garden, you would need to go out the front door and through the side gate.

Thank you for your review Francois. The garden leading on to the riverside walk is excellent for dogs. Property Owner

Ideal spot if you want to explore . Train st close by . Would recommend this bungalow . Very quiet and soothing area .

Thank you so much for your review Claire. The Farmer's market takes place once per month so it's great that you managed to catch it. The town of Cupar is fairly central for exploring Fife and affords excellent transport links, by car, rail or bus, to the major Scottish cities. Property Owner

  • "The location is excellent being a short walk into town and lots to see and do in the surrounding area."

The quiet street, plenty off road parking, gardens front and back and the path at the rear of the house were real plus points. The house itself has small rooms and the furniture in the lounge is so uncomfortable, especially if there are 4 adults as there's only a couch and 1 chair. (no adult likes to sit in the middle of 2 others on a couch!) We felt that 2 x 2 seater couches would be much more comfortable and relaxing. The double bed is narrow and the 2 x singles are more suited to 2 children. There are some grotty old rugs around on the floor that we just put in a pile in the corner of the rooms during our stay. The kitchen is fairly old fashioned with a protruding cupboard that you have to be careful you don't bump your head on and a fridge that opens on the wall side. There's a useless old table in there that just makes it feel smaller. It was adequate to cook some meals in, but basic with very little extras eg empty roll of tin foil, only enough washing up liquid for 2 days, no J-cloths or scrubbers, very basic small supply of cheap crockery, a "welcome pack" that consisted of a pint of milk and 3 kit kats (for 4 people) which was so pathetic we would rather not have had anything. The shower was great and the bathroom looked clean and modern, however 1 hand towel between 4 was also quite stingy! Outside there is a small bistro set in the garden, which is again only for 2 people. This house could be fabulous but we just felt the owner obviously doesn't want to spend anything on it, despite guests paying an average of around £600 a week.

Thank you for your feedback Carole. Some updates are scheduled for this year . Property Owner

I have suction handles from Argos and they don't mark the tiles easy to put on and remove, I think they cost me £10 and we bought a suction.shower caddy from B&M for £5 problem solved. It's a beautiful home on a nice quiet estate and we will definitely go again.

Great location for dog owners as Riverside path straight out of back gate. A 10 minute flat walk to town centre with a great selected of local shops and bars. Only minor grief was double bed not a king size, but otherwise ideal accomodation. Very quiet and peaceful location. We will book again

Thank you for your review David. The riverside path is certainly a superb walk for dogs and a great way to get to the town. The river and its surroundings is also host to an abundance of wildlife such as herons, cormorants, dippers , thrushes and bullfinches and I believe otters have also been sighted in the river, all contributing to a very pleasant walk indeed. • "The house was clean and functional."

There were good facilities for our dog, the ability to close rooms and the laminated floors were a great help. The soaps and ‘treats’ were much appreciated. The property could easily be improved by updating the kitchen cupboards and appliances. The cupboards appeared very dated and worn out. The washing machine nearly ruined some of our clothes despite appearing to be relatively new. Some more glasses such as tumblers and nicer cutlery would raise the standard of the property. The bathroom was well fitted out but the shower had poor water pressure despite being a power shower. Lack of a working radiator in bedroom two was disappointing and the mattress in bedroom one squeaked at the slightest movement. Overall, the house was adequate but with a little investment and care could be much more comfortable.

Thank you for your review Charles. The house is very dog friendly and set in an ideal area for dog walking. Some updates to the property are scheduled for this year so should address some of your other comments. Property Owner

I think it would be a good idea to provide takeaway menus and may be a guest book with things like, Doctors Number and others information

Very sorry for the late reply Howard. As written below below, sample menus should have been available along with local service information including phone numbers of pharmacies, doctor's, vets etc. We are not quite sure what happened to this information. However, I'm assured, from the property maintenance company this has been remedied. Thank you for the suggestion of a guest book. One has now been provided. Property Owner

  • "Had a lovely stay very clean and a good base to explore Fife from."

Had all you need and a nice little garden and very quiet area so peace guaranteed. The only thing we did miss and i would strongly recommend is to have an information folder with details of local pharmacists and shops and maybe a few restaurants and take aways etc as well as instructions on how to use appliances, when the bins and recycling comes and some pegs to hang out any washing ( as we couldnt find any ). Otherwise a great property.

Thank you so much Steven for your kind review of Edenbank Road. Local information/household instructions along with some sample menus should have been available in one of the drawers in the living room but the property manager will check what has happened to this information as soon as possible and rectify any deficiencies for future guests. In addition, thank you for your comment about clothes pegs as this seemed to slip by me, pegs will be available in the house from now on. I am really happy that you had a lovely stay at Edenbank Road and found it quiet and peaceful. Property Owner

About the location

CUPAR, FIFE

St Andrews 9.7 miles; Kirkcaldy 17.8 miles

Enveloped by rolling hills, positioned alongside the babbling River Eden, in the historic county of Fife, is the picturesque town of Cupar. It retains much of its medieval character including a number of historic buildings; the Hill of Tarvit, an Edwardian mansion being well worth the visit. Owned by the National Trust for Scotland since 1949, the house contains an impressive collection of 18th century Chippendale and French furniture, as well as Chinese porcelain and lovely Dutch paintings. The Scottish Deer Centre nearby covers over 55 acres of greenery, with 13 species of deer from around the world, Fife's only wolf pack, otters and other rare Scottish breeds. The park is simply beautiful and makes a superb day out with guided tours, woodland walks, nose-to-nose sessions and birds of prey demonstrations, along with so much more! The town offers a bustling hub of shops, pubs and eateries as well as an interesting mix of old and modern buildings. There is an excellent Golf Museum, aquarium, cathedral and a beautiful botanical garden. The Fife Coastal Path also beckons with so much to discover along its 117 miles of dramatic scenery. You can start at the Forth of Tay and journey on a wonderful walking experience to the Forth of Firth in the south. Pass through small fishing villages, across award-winning beaches and rugged cliffs on an adventure you won't forget in a hurry.
