Fabulous place to stay, an hour's drive up the remote glen.

No shops or facilities and very few other visitors at the time we were there. Truly remote apart from the handful of neighbouring cottages. The cottage is great, very clean and well equipped for self catering. Very comfy beds and furniture! Beware: pick up a few provisions en route and/or arrange for grocery delivery as there is no welcome pack (milk, etc) and nowhere within an hour's drive to buy anything! Btw there is a cafetierre and a coffee pod machine but no pods or ground coffee provided. We had hoped to full up with fuel en route but found there were no petrol stations within 90 minutes from the direction we travelled in!! Therefore on our first day we had to drive over an hour out of the glen to fill up in Aberfeldy!! The dogs were safe in the enclosed garden (although a smaller dog would have been able to squeeze out under the gates!) and they absolutely loved all the local walks from the cottage and beyond! Ps. We had started to think red squirrels were mythical despite all the red squirrel road signs... until we visited the awesome Cluny House gardens and finally saw them there!! We'd recommend Castle Menzies for fascinating history but do check opening days/times (it's closed on Fridays but you can still get a great photo!). We'd definitely come again and highly recommend Ben Grianan

It looks a little more isolated on the pictures than it is in reality, but we had an amazing time!

Ticked off most of the Munros in the area but we will be recommending the accommodation to others.

A lovely cottage in wonderful surroundings.

Beds were comfortable if a bit soft for me personally. There was just about everything we needed in the cottage except for a dish cloth (for wiping up messes on the kitchen counters) - we bought some on a trip out. The furniture was comfortable but the main picture window had blown and was misted up on the inside, so you couldn’t get a really good view at times. The front door needs some maintenance too as it is hard to close and lock. The gardens surrounding the cottage were well kept and the little patio by the front door was a sun trap to sit and enjoy all the wonderful birds flitting about - we spent lots of time there trying to identify them all! We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone who wants peace and quiet in fantastic natural surroundings.

Ben Grianan is furnished comfortably and thoughtfully.

It had everything and more for the 4 of us on a week's stay. Prompt response from the friendly hosts. Waking up to those views was amazing! The maps and info in the booklet was helpful for hikes and visiting places. Excellent Starlink connection!

Lovely remote spot.

Friendly helpful neighbours. Great cottage, well presented. Lots of wildlife. Owner was very helpful when we had an electrical fault. Would recommend to anyone who wants to "get away from it all"

Ben Grianan is a very lovely place to spend your holiday time especially as this cottage is in an outstandingly beautiful location and has several lovely walks straight from the doorstep.

It is dog friendly, well equipped (including WiFi) and comfortable to live in. Being organised with your food is important as it is remote with main shops being 20 miles away. The delicious Bridge of Balgie coffee shop is 8 miles away and is a must visit from which fresh bread can also be bought. We would certainly recommend staying here - the Glen Lyon river and mountains provided us with an absolute feast for our eyes and ears to remember.

The cottage was great, very comfy and well appointed with everything you need for a great stay in a wonderful location.

You do have neighbours but it is a very isolated location and a 1 hour drive too the nearest shop, do your food shopping before you arrive or arrange a food delivery in advance. Couple of issues while we stayed, a small leak at the washing machine fitting and the electric tripped 1 night both sorted by calls to the owners, who provided a good information pack. We recommend the tea room cafe by the bridge approx 20 mins drive away do some excellent lunch time food Overall a really good stay.

A lovely stay, the peace, quiet and tranquility.

It was fantastic. A beautiful cottage set in stunning surroundings. Everything you could need was in the cottage and it made for a lovely weekend.

Excellent cottage and great location

The listing makes it sound a lovely, quiet detached cottage.

It was quite close to neighbours (local residents) on both sides. Apart from that one small niggle, everything else was perfect, even the weather in October!

Minor gripe from my partner who, being rather small, found she couldn't see herself in the bathroom mirror. A longer length mirror would have made hair and clothes tending far simpler. I cannot understand why so many people, in the past, have been unable to lock the front door. I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with the lock and anyone who is familiar with that type of locking mechanism (surely most people, these days) will not have a problem. Simply push/pull the door closed until the latch clicks (might require a bit of effort), raise the handle as far as it will go, and maintain pressure, then turn the key. Ben Grianan is a delightful and very peaceful place to stay. Glen Lyon is a glorious location.

We had such a lovely stay in your cottage.

Everything was great. We hadn't realised that the road from the end of the estate to Fotheringall was closed Monday to Friday,, but that is not a reflection on yourselves. The kids loved hill walking and took advantage of the good weather when we could. The front door would not lock, so we had to leave it unlocked all the time.

A well provisioned cottage in a very secluded location, it was an absolute delight to stay here.

It should be noted that for most of our stay there was no T.V. reception but there were plenty of DVD's to watch. I would highly recommend staying here but be mindful that there really is no internet. Stunning location, gorgeous scenery.

The cottage had everything you need inside and is a great place to stay if you really want to be in the middle of nowhere surrounded by mountains and beautiful views.

Beautiful area.

Cottage is comfortable and equipped with everything you need. Safe garden for dogs. Long drive to go anywhere, but was stated in description so we were prepared for that and as weather was really nice spent time round local area.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage, found it very relaxing and enjoyable.

The cottage was well equipped and had good facilities, it had everything we needed. It is nicely decorated a suits the location, views are stunning. We found it ideal for the dogs as it has a field with access from the garden and nice walks along the river and Loch. I would definitely recommend to friends and family if you want an isolated getaway, this is the place. We will definitely have a return visit, wish we stayed longer as it’s so peaceful there. 5*

Cottage was set in a lovely location unfortunately the lawyers road is closed all summer very unfortunate aberfeldy is the nearest place available for restocking the cottage it sell was very clean to a high standard not the same for the diy this leaves a lot to be desired the cottage also was cold to heat hot water requires the log fire which is ten pounds a basket lol logs were 4 pound at aberfeldy and were much cleaner and bod logs still dirty not described in the details we stayed for 14 nights half the party came home after 5 days the rest of us came home four day early the front door didn’t lock two towel and two hand towel provided for a fortnight and no change of bedding at least you can relax and sit on the rotten garden furniture provide would not recommend this for a family or young children was somes house all the discrpription is false apart from one it’s scenic

We really enjoyed our stay at Ben Grianan.

It’s a very peaceful place, perfect for getting away from the world. The surrounding landscape is astonishing and it’s great for stargazing. The cottage itself is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The wood burner is very cozy and gives out plenty of heat. Everything was absolutely immaculate and clean. Outside the cottage has a secure fence, meaning if you are travelling with a dog you can rest assured they won’t escape. There is absolutely no mobile signal (on any network) or Wi-Fi, though this is one of the reasons we booked. Make sure you take change for the pay phone in the property just in case you want to make any calls. The nearest village with shops and pubs is around 1 hours drive away, be prepared for winding mountain roads when getting to the location and surrounding area. Overall it was a dreamy experience and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We immediately felt relaxed as soon as we arrived.

The surroundings were so picturesque and the cottage had everything you needed to have a great break away. We enjoyed walks from the door and playing the many games provided. Please be aware that it takes around 50 minutes to reach a main road, which was fine with us, but may not suit all. Thanks so much for providing this gem, we would happily return and didn't want to leave!

Absolutely loved our stay here, stunning area, comfy cottage and best of all no WiFi or phone signal.

A great cottage in a wonderful location. So peaceful. The cottage has quite an unusual layout but that is part of its charm. Plenty of room and facilities are excellent with everything we needed. We recommend coffee and cake at the Bridge of Balgie tearoom and the scotch pies at Macdonald's the butchers in Aberfeldy.

Able to start walks straight from doorstep. Very comfortable furniture. Garden table enabled alfresco dining while soaking up the scenery.

Great holiday, we were able to relax and unwind the location was not disappointing the views were amazing.

. the garden was perfect and very dog proof as I have a spaniel that would escape if he could so perfect for us not having to worry and perfect for him. Would definitely recommend.
