  • "Upper Home Farm was amazing!"

We had travelled in 3 cars from different parts of the country and there was plenty of parking. The village is in a very rural location and accessed via narrow country lanes from every direction! There was a lovely pub - the Royal Oak - less than 2 miles away but the footpaths were too muddy to enable us to walk there this time. The living areas and bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was one of the most well equipped we have have stayed in. We were 3 generations of a family - 9 in total - ranging from 9 - 75 years booking for a Christmas get together. There were 2 separate living rooms but each enabled us to all be together if we wanted to, plus lots of other options, also the dining table in the kitchen seated us all too! It's amazing how many properties advertise for a large number of people but don't have enough space to seat everyone, which is important to us. Sara, our host, was very attentive and responsive, and had left a supply of fuel for the log burner, which was a nice bonus. The house was equipped with a pool table, which we made good use of, and there was table tennis and a small gym in an annexe. There was also another gym and lovely indoor swimming pool a 10 minute walk away that could be booked for a 90min session which we took advantage off too. This is probably one of the best houses we have rented for us all, and we have stayed in a lot. We hope to be able to return.

  • "We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Upper Home Farm."

The accommodation was very clean, spacious and well equipped. A lovely welcome with the Christmas trees, lights and decorations made it feel homely. Lots of lovely little touches left by the owners. Some great walks around the area with fantastic views. Good communication with the owners who were very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Ideal for families and friends, this pet-friendly abode boasts partial ground-floor living, a dedicated TV room, and access to an on-site swimming pool, and is well-equipped for entertaining and relaxing in equal measure.

Your journey begins as you wind down a quiet country lane, where hedgerows frame the road and anticipation builds, before pulling into the enclosed driveway that opens to sweeping views of the Stretton Hills.

Step through the front door into a central entrance hall, where the property begins to unfold along a long tiled hallway with exposed brick walls, setting a rustic yet inviting tone.

Most rooms on the ground floor open out through French doors, blending indoor comfort with the fresh Shropshire air.

The sitting room draws you in with its deep armchairs and a sofa arranged around a glowing woodburning stove set in a copper-finished fireplace, framed by exposed beams and a feature stove wall.

A Smart TV sits ready for relaxed evenings, whether you're catching up on your favourite series or enjoying a family film.

Continue into the kitchen/diner, a sociable space where meals are prepared and shared, entered through a stable door and equipped with an electric range oven and hob.

Here, dining becomes an experience: gather around a long table with a church pew, benches and chairs for up to 16 guests, where laughter and conversation flow beneath warm lighting.

French doors open to the rear garden, inviting alfresco moments after hearty meals.

A pantry houses a fridge/freezer and a second freezer to keep supplies fresh, while a dishwasher ensures easy clean-up.

The utility spaces are thoughtfully arranged: one small utility with freezer and fridge/freezer, and another with a door to the garden offering a washing machine, microwave, kettle, two toasters and a coffee maker.

A cloakroom with basin and WC adds a playful twist with striking cheetah-print wallpaper.

Sleeping arrangements are thoughtfully spread across two floors, beginning with the only ground-floor bedroom: a family room with a double and single bed, complete with an en-suite walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC—perfect for those seeking easy access and privacy.

Up the first staircase, discover a family room with three single beds, bathed in natural light from Velux windows, creating a bright and airy retreat for friends or siblings.

Nearby, a twin bedroom offers a peaceful space beneath sloping ceilings, where morning light streams in to start the day gently.

Both rooms share a bathroom featuring a bath with shower over, heated towel rail, basin and WC.

Up the second staircase with exposed wood and Velux windows, you’ll find a family room with a king-size and single bed, boasting an en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC and lovely views over the Stretton Hills—wake up to rolling landscapes framed by your window.

A twin bedroom offers a snug yet light-filled space, while another family room with three single beds and Velux windows promises a cheerful, sunlit setting for younger guests or groups.

These rooms are served by a further bathroom with a bath with shower over, basin and WC.

Entertainment is well catered for throughout the property.

The bar room is a lively hub with bar stools and a pool table beneath exposed beams, plus a Chesterfield sofa and armchair for relaxed drinks after a game.

The snug/games room offers a Chesterfield sofa, a football table and musical instruments, while the games area adds table tennis and a darts board, with fantastic countryside views.

An additional sitting space features an exposed stone wall and beams, a Smart TV, a corner sofa and a piano, with French doors opening to the front garden—perfect for quiet moments or impromptu music sessions.

Step outside to enjoy the enclosed garden, where a mix of lawn, gravel, decking and outdoor furniture creates a serene setting for alfresco dining or simply admiring the sweeping views over the Stretton Hills and valley.

A large lawn invites games and picnics, while woodland trails on-site promise tranquil walks and hidden corners to explore.

From the front gate, stunning vistas frame your arrival, setting the tone for a truly rural escape.

Guests also have access to the pool and spa facilities, with one complementary 90-minute session available by arrangement with the owner.

Nearby, Much Wenlock offers a blend of history and charm, where the ruins of Wenlock Priory sit quietly among winding lanes, and the town’s Olympic legacy is celebrated in its museum.

Church Stretton, nestled in the Shropshire Hills, tempts walkers with the dramatic trails of the Long Mynd, while antique shops and cafés provide a slower pace.

Ironbridge, rich in industrial heritage, invites exploration of its iconic bridge, immersive museums, and riverside paths that weave through the story of innovation.
