Shake off your well-trekked boots in the spacious entrance hall with space to hang coats and dry dog paws after a lovely walk, before you whip up a delicious dinner in the kitchenette, equipped with all you need to prepare a satisfying snack.

Dig in at the dining table or, when the sun is too good to resist, head into the garden for some alfresco dining.

When evening falls, settle into the sitting area and utilise the Smart TV to catch up on your favourite show.

Rinse off the day in a spacious shower room, equipped with a heated towel rail for your comfort, before falling into a king-size (zip/link) bed waiting to catch you.

Take that short drive to Chester to treat the history buff to Chester Roman Amphitheatre and a walk along Chester City Walls, meet the animals at Chester Zoo, then don your finest clothes for a day out at Chester Racecourse – the oldest racecourse in the world!

The pretty market town of Ellesmere with its Tudor, Georgian and Victorian buildings quietly nestles between the Shropshire Meres and the well-known Shropshire to Llangollen canal, in an area renowned as Shropshire's Lakeland. Steeped in history and originally fortified as an Anglo-Saxon settlement, this peaceful town boasts a lovely church with a 15th century roof and was home to Thomas Telford during the building of the canal network in the late 18th century. The town also boasts a good variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as an abundance of entertainment on and around the meres in the surrounding area. Stroll through Cremorne Gardens, go fishing or boating, take some time to explore Colemere Country Park with its wonderful wildlife and scenic walks, or walk along the canal.
