The property

Cosy Nook sits on the outskirts of North Molton, with its thatched roof and courtyard garden, it provides a wonderful pet-friendly retreat for those wishing to explore Exmoor and North Devon.

Enter the property via the original stone steps, and into the characterful living room with its charming inglenook fireplace and ornamental stove.

The dining table is placed near the feature windows so you can enjoy a view of the village beyond as you dine.

The galley kitchen provides access to the rear garden via a shared space with the neighbouring cottage.

Your private seating area is accessed by some blue steps and surrounded by flowers, depending on the season.

As night falls, alight the stairs, quite steep in parts, to the first floor bedrooms and choose from a king-size room (which can be arranged as two 2ft 6 singles on request) or the single bedroom, both with their own built-in wardrobes.

The bedrooms are served by the first-floor shower room, which is small but perfectly formed; the shower is accessed via a single step.

This property is not suitable for those with mobility issues or children under 12.

One small dog (under 15 kg) is very welcome.

This location is ideal for exploring the heather-clad Exmoor hills with their native stags.

Couples will love the fabulous long sandy beaches at Saunton and Woolacombe, ideal for safe bathing, surfing, or walking amongst the soft dunes that back the beaches.

Make time for a visit to Marwood Hill Gardens to discover its astonishing variety of plants, or explore the enchanting Broomhill Estate | Sculpture Garden, Art Hotel, Dining, Events, offering something for all ages and tastes.

NORTH MOLTON

South Molton 3.5 miles; Dulverton 11 miles; Barnstaple 12 miles.

The ancient village of North Molton is an ideal base from which to explore Exmoor and North Devon’s dramatic coast. The village boasts a friendly pub, Post Office and a village shop offering home-grown produce from local farms and delicious home-baked goods, while just a few miles away, the pretty town of South Molton offers a range of shops and a twice weekly market. Being pleasantly close to both coastal and inland beauty spots, this quaint village is sure to suit visitors of all tastes. Within easy reach are forests, moors, rivers and beaches, along with churches and other buildings of historical significance, whilst just a mile or so away is the border of the Exmoor National Park. There is superb walking on the South West Coast Path and the North Devon coastline is varied and interesting. Visit the National Trust's Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Up on Exmoor, there are various walks to suit all abilities, as well as pretty places worth visiting including Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge and the charming little village of Withypool. Further afield, the resorts of Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are well worth a visit, and for some of the best beaches in the country, a day trip to Woolacombe and Saunton are not to be missed.
