  • "Lots of room for the eight of us."

The kitchen was very well stocked with cutlery, crockery etc. Loved the Neff up & over oven. The circuit breaker tripped a few times when the dishwasher was used. The house is in a great position to walk to town & to the Tor. There's some road noise, but that's not an issue. The towels were lovely & thick & white. & the sheets were nice & crisp. Very good.

Thanks for your lovely review I’m so glad you enjoyed the house and the ‘hotel style’ linen, it makes such a difference doesn’t it :) - and yes that oven door is a genius design! Property Owner

  • "We and our seminar participants felt very comfortable in the house."

It is lovingly furnished and the garden invites you to linger. It was a pity that the rooms and especially the dishes were not really clean. There was dust and cobwebs everywhere, the windows were dirty and we had to wash all the dishes again before we could use them. A small note: the fuse kept blowing as soon as the light was on in the room on the first floor and several rooms on the second floor had their lights switched on. Basically, the Tree of Life House is a beautiful vacation home that impresses with its proximity and location to the city center and also to the Chalice Well Garden, the White Spring and the Tor. We felt very comfortable and could overlook the small blemishes. Our little highlight was the elf house.

Thank you so much for your feedback, it’s helpful to have brought to my attention. I have highlighted to the house managers /cleaners of the need to pay attention upwards and windows, especially after a busy summer of back to back bookings. I believe the lights played up as a result of a blocked shower overflowing in the top room above. The dishwasher will have a cleaning cycle and salt added. I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay and made use of my little meditation hut ✨ Property Owner

  • "The house is beautiful has pretty much everything you need and more."

One suggestion would be to take the wood fence away at the top of the hedge as it’s difficult to see what’s coming along the road when leaving the drive although this didn’t ruin our holiday at all. Another issue we had was with the washer dryer we couldn’t get it to dry no matter what program we used and the weather was against us so found it difficult. Again this didn’t ruin the stay for us just an observation. Would recommend this beautiful huge house for anyone wanting to stay in Glastonbury area.

Hi thanks for your lovely feedback, we are installing a mirror on the gate posts shortly to help with the visibility out of the driveway after other recent feedback on this, so glad you enjoyed your stay despite the British weather! Property Owner

  • "Lovely house with comfortable rooms , nice kitchen and a beautiful yard."

We loved the location which was ideal to walk to town or the Tor. The upstairs bedroom on third floor was a good size and would have been better for 2 or 3 twin beds rather than the double with jumper beds - just an idea for the owner.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion on the family room, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again Property Owner

Centrally located in Glastonbury and within 5mins walk of the main town. 10mins drive to the Clarks Designer outlet, 20mins drive to Wells, 40mins to Longleat etc. Fantastic base for getting out and about, as everything is relatively close by. The house itself looks a lot better in the pictures, as some of it needs tlc. Overall a nice place to stay, but could do with some maintenance.

Thank you for your nice review a rolling Maintenance programme is in place with the house manger and continues Property Owner

The location was perfect, with easy access to the town and all the main attractions in Glastonbury. The house itself was lovely and cozy, making our group of 12 people feel right at home. A special highlight was the delightful little treat we found in the fridge – a thoughtful touch that added to our overall enjoyment of the stay. Thank you for making our trip memorable!" Joanna x

Each bedroom having an en-suite was a really bonus and having a table with enough chairs for everyone was a big plus. The garden is spacious and well kept and secure for the dog, and the drawer of doggy stuff in the laundry is a nice touch. Very nice property and an easy walk into Glastonbury.

Close to the town centre with comfortable furnishings, a beautiful, tranquil walled garden, and 5 ensuite rooms, it suited our party very well. We will definitely return and certainly recommend to friends and anyone else who would like to stay in Glastonbury. The housekeeper was also very helpful. Points to note - we couldn't get the microwave to work, the towel rail in the attic room would not turn off, and more than 3 pint glasses were needed by our party which included 5 men! None of these things spoilt our stay though.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay and the house and hope you do return again :) Thank you for your feedback, the towel rail should only come on for a couple of hours morning and evening to dry towels but I’ll get it turned off for the summer! Property Owner

I love the house, the beautiful garden, the living room, all the facilities. We cought some colder days this time and it took about 1-2 days to really feel the house warming. Two set of keys would be helpful for more visitors but we managed well also with the key safe. Overall, I loved it there and I'll definitely come back again!

  • "Really enjoyable stay, catered well for 9 people including ample parking."

Good location with easy access to the high street and long walks into the countryside. From a maintenance perspective a couple of the bathroom taps "drip" over the surrounding surface when turned off and this is causing damage to the surrounding surface. The door from the conservatory into the garden has to be lifted slightly to close it. Both will be more costly to repair if left.

So glad you enjoyed your stay at the house!. The conservatory door has dropped a little recently I noticed just before your visit. It is on the urgent Maintenace list thank you for highlighting. The taps are an unfortunate choice I inherited from former owners, something that will need to be replaced for sure when a long enough alternative can be found that is suitable for the position of the tap to sink. Whoever put them in went for style over substance … ! Property Owner

Quiteset the tone for our return . We have stayed at quite a few Sykes Cottages over the years and we were quite surprised to receive negative feedback from the owner. When we arrived we discovered that a wooden chair was broken and the dishwasher tablet dispenser was also broken . We are told that a new dishwasher door is required and suitable recompense will be needed for the wooden chair . We were also verbally slapped on the wrist for not disposing of our rubbish in the correct manner although we believed that we had done so according to the owners manual. We will not be returning. The new managers have taken over since we booked. We had problems with hot water but the maintenance team came straight out and got us up and running. The building is in need of some TLC and this has been recognised. The location is great for visiting Glastonbury town with lots of bars and restaurants. The Heating seemed to have a mind of its own. My mom gets very cold due to being poorly and it seemed like a constant battle to get heat. There were plenty of blow air heaters though to assist. I would recommend this holiday.

Thanks for your feedback and recommendation, I'm so glad the extra heaters helped your mother, the hot water and central heating issues been repaired now and a maintenance programme was put into place to take care of some upkeep outstanding from the last ownership. Property Owner

  • "House was great."

Fantastic facilities so everyone in our group had their own bathroom. Extremely well equipped, very clean and in great location for Glastonbury town centre and the Tor. Couple of things that could have made it even better-radiators in two of the bedrooms were off when we arrived so took a while to warm up on first night but extra electric heaters were appreciated. Bathroom sink tap design was poor as most ended up dripping. Sink in room 1 was very small considering size of room and water pressure-so regularly got soaked

  • "We spent a great weekend at this cottage with extended family."

The house was well equipped with lovely bedrooms, all en-suite, and the kitchen and dining areas allowed us to have some nice family meals. The garden was lovely and perfect for Easter egg hunts. The kids also enjoyed the games room. The location in central Glastonbury was also good. The only minor niggles were the bathroom taps which were fancy-looking but impractical, and also there was a problem with the hot water running out in the top bedroom. But we had a wonderful stay and I would be happy to recommend it.
