"The property, like others on the development are built to a high standard and are impressive."
Entering Goldenhaye lodge #12A through to the lounge/diner, instils the Wow factor, with it's vaulted ceiling standing at probably 45ft high and having a fully glazed aspect onto the garden and beyond.
Don't expect to see all your fav. TV programs if it's raining, because no-one has taken the effort to hook-up the device to the internet so only free-to air programs will be available. Shame about that given it's entering the winter cold season and this prime inside facility will be vital.
Clean, in every respect, but aging not too well.
Overall even though we were there out of high season, it felt to be a little bit too costly - perhaps try one of the smaller lodges, if you don't need to space and if there is one available. You'll need to get booked early though to get one of those.

"A lovely lodge."
The openness and high lounge ceiling were fantastic. The hot tub was excellent. The bbq being available was a bonus and the gardens well maintained.
Use of the spa and the hotel were great - we enjoyed walking the grounds. We enjoyed our cream tea.
The honesty shop was a great addition plus the dvd and games library.
Much better value than Centreparcs.
We didn’t use the smaller pool due to being an adult only group and going to the hotel.
As a previous rental property owner here is my feedback to the owner:
The lodge was overall of a reasonable cleanliness however the lounge/dining room floor needs a really good wash as it left socks very dirty - to the point you kept your shoes on!
The dining table needs oiling as does the coffee table.
The placemats are old, could do with replacing.
Swivel chairs to look out at the view would work better than moving the two single chairs.
The twin beds need looking at, the frame moves every time the person does - had two adults sleeping in them.
The downstairs shower over flows due to poor drainage on the plug. Don’t know about the upstairs one.
There is no shower attachment in the upstairs bath bathroom which limited use - a jug to wash hair to be available would be helpful.
Two dishwasher tablets for three nights was stingy and an almost empty washing up liquid disappointing - this would stop some guests leaving the properties utensils as it was found.
The recycling bags were so useful.
The music system is clearly very old as the connector was unusable. Didn’t use the tv.
Would come again especially if the points below were addressed.
Great information pack although needs updating as some of the information is out of date.

"The lodge was exceptionally comfortable."
The kitchen and utensils were the best we have seen in a lodge.
There are signs of wear and tear but nothing that impedes the enjoyment of the property.
The only drawback we found wasn’t with the lodge but the area at large. Eating out was an issue, as choice is limited and far afield. In the end we ended up eating in the lodge.

"We had a wonderful time and will be back, the staff were amazing."
The house was beautiful but does need to sort out the downstairs shower, it just filled at the bottom and the door was broken, to the rest of the house it was a let down.
And why only two dressing gowns? We were 5 adults.
Other than that it was wonderful
Hi Lorraine,
Thank you for leaving us a review, we are pleased to hear you will be returning to Swandown in the future.
Sorry to hear you had trouble with the shower, we have now rectified the broken door and resolved the drainage issue.
As standard we only supply 2 dressing gowns for the main bedroom as we don't like to over stock our linen but if you request more next time, I'm sure we will be able to accommodate you.
We look forward to welcoming you back to Swandown in the future.
Kind regards

"The property was to a high standard, modern and we enjoyed our stay very much, especially the hot tub."
The facilities, furnishings, beds, towels, even towels for the hot tub were lovely. The property was clean, tidy and the views across the Cricket St Thomas estate beautiful. The only criticism we have is that it would be nice to have a small outside light around the hot tub area. Thank you for sharing your lovely property we all enjoyed our much need break.

"This lodge was luxurious from the soft white bath sheets to the quality of the crockery and cutlery."
The beds were really comfortable, the hot tub brilliant and the open plan layout gave it a very spacious feel. The fact that you could hire out the little swimming pool on site for your own private use was great and the free access to the local hotel leisure facilities was an added bonus. The walks from the property are extensive, the views are beautiful and the team were incredibly friendly and really helpful. We will return!

"My wife and I stayed at 12A for week with two other adults, making use of all three bedrooms and bathrooms."
The lodge has been maintained to a high standard and was ideal for a week's restful holiday. The hot-tub was used regularly, as was the swimming pool. We particularly appreciated the free access to the local Warner hotel's gym and pool. The lodge overlooked some beautiful scenery and provided ready access to miles of leisurely walks. We'd like to thank Leroy, who was always on hand in the reception to answer questions and to help out.

"Beautiful place in fabulous surroundings."
Immaculately clean very comfortable with everything you are likely to need in the kitchen and everywhere else, with masses of towels. It also has a great Jacuzzi that's well looked after. Magical place I would fully recommend a visit. Well worth the price of rental.

"We had lovely stay at Swandown lodges."
Everything we needed for a comfortable stay in a stunning location.
It was the perfect place for our mum to celebrate her 92nd birthday. She really enjoyed getting out on her buggy amongst the cows and sheep, we plan to be back in the future.
A big thank you to Leroy and Helen for making us feel at home.
