  • "Great Location, near to the Brecons but also near to coffee bars, pubs etc."

House was large, clean and more than adequate facilities. Will be booking here again

  • "On the whole, Rosehall met our requirements."

A little bit of maintenance is required. The condenser drier is not working. Bulbs need replacing. Master bedroom bed needs a headboard. Master ensuite windows desperately need blinds. Whole of the wooden flooring upstairs needs screwing down, very noisey. Apart from these issues, it's a nice house conveniently situated in a pleasant town.

  • "Perfect base for our walking holiday."

House was very well equipped with plenty of space for us all and with a useful utility area for sorting out all our walking gear. The 3 bathrooms were an added bonus after a days walking. Close to town centre for quick shopping trips and eating out. Owner was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be going back.

  • "Beautiful house, very spacious and good facilities."

Christmas was thoroughly enjoyed here. Only feedback which has been passed to owner is the double bed not so comfortable. She advised she will look into this. Only negative. Would highly recommend.

  • "Absolutely fantastic property, massively roomy living space, lovely kitchen with most equipment provided, amble parking and so close to town yet brilliantly peaceful."

Marked down only on comfort due to one double bed being a little noisy and uncomfortable, personal preference though. Would visit again in a heartbeat, suited our mixed aged party really well and highly recommend a stay here.

  • "Rosehill - with its 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was a great property for our mixed family group of 8 people."

It was comfortable and private, and very well-appointed. It provided an excellent base for us to explore the wider region, and all the facilities of Abergavenny itself were within a very short walking distance or 3/4 minute drive (in the case of Waitrose!). The instruction pack was very comprehensive and the welcome pack of goodies was much appreciated. The owner was very friendly and she invited us to contact her at any time for any reason whatsoever; she lived in an adjacent property but was not intrusive in any way. Our only criticisms are very minor in comparison to our overall satisfaction with the property: - We would have appreciated a bit more cutlery and crockery. - We found one of the beds (a double) to be a little uncomfortable, compared to what we are used to - but beds are, of course, a very personal preference. - Unfortunately one of the electric showers failed. We regarded this as "one of those things" and basically worked around the issue. Being so busy, we didn't mention it to the owner for a few days, and when we did she said that if only we had told her sooner, she would have sorted it out for us (said in a concerned way...not a rude way!). - A barbeque would have been a nice addition. However, we brought our own with us and the owner was happy for us to use it.

  • "This is a beautiful house in close proximity to parks and shops."

It was clean and comfortable and provided towels, tea towels, along with all the cleaning things you could need. There is a large lawn which was lovely for sitting out on and socialising with the friends. The owner was on hand and very friendly and helpful.

  • "Lovely house, friendly, helpful owner nearby."

Fortunate with the weather so enjoyed sitting in the garden watching the birds, including a red kite passing by overhead. Tight access to drive from narrow street if you have a bigger vehicle but it’s an excellent and comfortable base for exploring a beautiful area.

Lovely friendly owner, first time we have been on a walking holiday and not had to use our car all week to start walking! Home from home! Would recommend.

  • "We had a very comfortable week at Rosehill, 5 adults - and our our first family get-together since lockdown."

The house was very spacious and in a quiet location at the top of a private drive but close to the centre of Abergavveny, which is a lovely town with many individual shops, bars and eating places. We found many places to visit in the area and especially enjoyed the Gliffaes Country House Hotel and arboretum, the Sugar Loaf Vineyard, the Walnut Tree Inn, Tretower Court and Castle, and canal boat hire at the Goytre Wharf, which was a wonderful way to appreciate the amazing countryside. A very enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Many lovely walks available from the house. Lots of space in the house and all the facilities you need for a family holiday/break. Lovely welcome pack to greet us from Pat on our arrival. Abergavenny is a great town, with lots of lovey shops and restaurants.

  • "Will not be returning."

I found the initial communication was very hard work. On arrival no welcome pack. We are gluten free and were obviously placed into the too difficult box. There was a sign on the table on a basket saying welcome pack, but nothing for us. The house was dirty. The curtains were unclean and stained. The upstairs bathroom smelt of damp and there was damp on the ceiling . No wine glasses, had to go to Waitrose and buy my own. The upstairs floorboards made of pine, made such a loud sound and woke everyone up. The showers urgently need upgrading . Some of the beds need replacing. The house just needs some TLC and money spent on it. I would definitely not return !

  • "Lovely spacious house."

Situated off a quiet one way street but only a 5 minute walk into the busy town centre. Spent Christmas here and the house had everything we needed to cook a Christmas Dinner for 7 people. Surrounding countryside is beautiful and the local people were amazing. It was our first time in Abergavenny and we will definitely come back.

  • "The house was well equipped and comfortable."

Lovely towels and plenty of space for us all to sit to relax and eat. The owner was very friendly and allowed us to park our car early on arrival and to leave it later when we left which was a great help. The only negative was the shower in the ensuite room wasn't very powerful and the main bathroom only had a bath and no shower over it which meant sharing the ensuite shower. We had a lovely basket of wine, Welsh cakes and biscuits which was very welcome.

  • "Generally the house was good and the owner was on hand to assist with any problems."

The location was ideal, once we got used to the extremely steep driveway! We did however I find the lack of carpets upstairs and the rather uncomfortable beds (creaked every time you moved) made it very noisy at night. The cooking facilities also (in particular the double combination oven) were overly challenging for a holiday let and there were was a lack of instructions on them.
