"The experience and the house could have been so much better."
The front and back garden was overgrown and unkempt and the long grass proved troublesome for my little dog, however the gardener appeared early one morning midweek without warning to cut the grass although that is all he cut. Inside was tidy but had not been properly cleaned for sometime as there was dust, cobwebs and hair everywhere. There was no welcome pack, a teabag or a drop of milk to be had. There was a jug of tap water in the fridge and half a loo roll in each toilet but that was it. The yellow sofa was dirty and uncomfortable and the bottom bed sheet was scratchy. The sink in the bathroom is far too small and the tap is loose. The windows were dirty. The stair gate was dangerous and prevented you using the stairs safely. There were some positives though as the bed was comfy and the shower was powerful. The location is spot on. We have stayed in many of Sykes cottages and we’re disappointed with the overall experience of this house as it could have been much better.

"Lovely quiet location and comfortable property."
We had beautiful weather but unfortunately the garden parasol is broken and would have been useful in the heat as the garden is a sunny retreat.
The bathroom sink tap is loose and needs attention, no book in the house to leave messages for such issues for maintenance. Also the recycling bags are in tatters, we had a problem with rubbish left by previous occupants and once reported to Sykes was promptly resolved, thank you. Would stay again

2 comfortable 3 seater sofas. Comfortable bed. Well laid out kitchen/ diner with wide door onto level garden. Nice quiet area with 5 min walk to town. Recycling bags are in tatters and need replacing otherwise excellent facilities

"This is our 3rd stay at 4 Llain yr Eglwys which in it self speaks volumes."
It's a very comfortable modern house with all of the right facilities in a very quiet private area of Newport.
Just a very short walk from the local shops and pubs and within 20 minutes from walking on the beach.

"Lovely house in a great location."
Simple standards of house keeping need to be improved. We were met with a slight Doggy aroma and an empty energy drink can left in the hallway. We were surprised to find a large dog bed in the kitchen under which were dog hairs and kibble! Obviously it hadn't been moved, plus doggy nose marks on windows. Agree with previous comments about stair gate, it is effectively making step unusable and is very dangerous. The shower although lovely, was a bit challenging to get the job done without the water overflowing the tray. We have stayed in many holiday homes and this house would be up there with the best with a little more TLC, such a shame.
A pint of milk would have been nice instead of half a packet of frozen peas ( different).

"Beautiful cottage and we had a lovely holiday."
Furnishings all very comfortable and tasteful and particularly the beds. We would happily stay again and recommend the cottage. To have parking, a lovely garden and a modern, comfortable place to stay was really fantastic. It was quiet but in a very convenient location too.
A couple of points, as feedback has been requested. Firstly there were no pillow protectors. The second point is more significant: there was a stair gate across one of the lower steps on the staircase up to the first floor. It was a massive trip hazard, because it was secured across the middle of one step. I understand the property takes dogs and clearly the idea was to stop dogs going upstairs, but for us and our children it was very awkward carrying luggage upstairs and my husband has a massive bruise on his leg from catching it as he lifted a suitcase over it. The stair gate should not be there for people who have not requested it and really I don’t think there are any circumstances, in which it should be positioned across the middle of a step, so that that step is effectively unusable. It was dangerous.
I would like to reiterate that we were very impressed with the property and had a lovely holiday. We would certainly stay again.

"First time stying in Newport and we wasn’t disappointed."
The property is in a great location for all the amenities, very comfortable and clean, excellent range of kitchen utensils. EV charging will require an extended charging cable as standard issue will not be sufficient - overall, a great stay and we will be rebooking in the future.

"Loved staying here immaculate and light new build property ."
Seaview from upstairs bedroom was an unexpected bonus .
Newport is the perfect little seaside place unspoilt by mass tourism .
Only disappointment was that we were unable to use the EV charger as listed and why we picked this property.
Thank you for letting us stay here .
Thank you for your feedback. I understand that the issue was the distance the car is parked from the charger. We will measure and ensure the information for the property is accurate and will include distance from parking to car which is across a small front garden for guests to gauge the lead length requirement

"Excellent location with the town which is within an easy walk having 4 pubs (3 of which serve food), a choice of restaurants, gift shops, a butchers and some lovely boutique outdoor wear shops."
Also within easy walking distance of the beach and coastal walks. The house itself was very cosy and well equipped, surprisingly so. The beds were very comfortable and the decor was fresh. The lovely sized garden would be perfect for bbqs in the summer. The only slight downside was that we didn't feel that the garden was particularly secure for our inquisitive dog but this wasn't a problem after spending all day out and about with us we just kept him on a lead for short garden visits. I had to work on a couple of days and whilst the telephone reception is non existant the WiFi is excellent. Lots of information about the local area was left in a tray which was really useful and you also have the delightful visitors centre which is open 7 days a week and run by volunteers. Highly recommend and we are very likely to return!

(An outside washing line would be a useful addition & a maybe a twin bedroom booking option for families). We had a lovely week despite the very changeable weather - quiet location in the village close to all amenities - a short walk away and walking distance to the coastal path.

"The property itself was largely excellent."
It provided a good base for visiting North Pembrokeshire. There were plenty of places to eat in Newport.
The lack of a phone signal at the property (and generally in the Newport area) proved a problem, especially as I needed to be in daily phone contact with my very elderly mother - we could have been warned about this.
The only disappointing aspect of the property itself was the extremely tiny washbasin in the main bathroom. Also, if you want visitors to deal properly with rubbish and recycling, you need to provide the promised plastic bags - there were no bags provided for general waste or kitchen waste.

A little too far out of the village for us as mobility is an issue. Facilities were spot on however, the smart TV left us confused to say the least, and had to call for help. A simpler tv for us more mature guests would be helpful
