  • "The Comfy Cow has spectacular views and a very comfortable bed."

It is in a rural setting, which suited us. A welcome pack was provided. However, the property was cold on our arrival (14 degrees) and remained cold during our stay as the central heating did not remain on in spite of it being set to constant. This issue was raised with the owner and with Sykes numerous times during our stay, but the owner never came to the property while we were there to assist us with this problem. The heating issue completely spoilt our enjoyment of a much-anticipated holiday.

Very peaceful and relaxing! The only thing we would change is the sofa it’s not very comfortable to lounge on so we spent most of the time on the bed. The views are great. We would love to stay again on day. Thank you

Very comfortable with access to countryside walks and local towns. We’d suggest a few more ‘Comfy Cow’ signs, particularly from the B4293 as the property is down narrow country roads

For a relaxing holiday in a stunning location, this is just perfect for us, and on the final evening the icing on the cake - a clear sky to sit outside under the stars.

  • "We absolutely loved this place."

The views are amazing and we sat and watched the sunset everynight. The road was very steep and bendy which made it difficult to access on our motorbikes. We contacted the owner and she kindly arranged for us to store them in barns at the bottom. This place has been very cleaverly designed and the only thing that was missing was a shower mat. We will hopefully return but will come by car next time. I have already recommended this place to friends.

The view alone makes your jaw drop as you pull into the drive, but the actual cottage is beautifully finished, with lots of nice touches (all cow-themed!). I actually spent a large part of my childhood in Llanfihangel Tor-y-Mynydd and it's wonderful to have such a lovely place to accommodate us when we return to the area. We will be back again for sure!

We were very lucky in that he weather was dry, not to mention very hot, so a lot of our time at the Comfy Cow was spent outside . WHAT A VIEW! Our trip was fabulous :)

The view...leaves you speechless. Stunning. One reviewer said it is like 'living in a painting' and I cannot come up with anything better. It is in the perfect spot, and to watch the sun set over the valleys and hills is breathtaking. The welcome pack was just the cherry on top. Thankyou so much. We'll definitely be back.

A sign on the Old Chepstow Road would certainly have helped. Disappointed that there were no “passing places” on the lane leading from the Old Chepstow Road as reversing in either direction was quite taxing (as we found out). The Comfy Cow with its unique breathtaking views was however well worth the visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there. We certainly appreciated the comfortable bed . Thank you.

A perfect escape to the countryside for a quiet break full of walking, animal spotting, drinking and eating. • "My husband and I loved our stay at the comfy cow."

My only criticism would be that it is not very well sign posted. Our sat nav sent us a few miles in the wrong direction, however we phoned the contact number and the owners were friendly and happy to give us directions. We booked this to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. Everything about this property was impressive down to the quality of the crockery. No expense has been spared throughout the property and really gave the luxurious feel that we were looking for. The lock down occurred during our stay here but as we were secluded and self sufficient we were not affected, and we were able to see out of break in comfort and peace. Waking up in the morning to the amazing views of the Beacons was a delight and to actually be able to get away and feel like a proper break away from home, was so refreshing and well needed for our sanity lol. I would highly recommend this property to anybody who asked, there was nothing negative about this property and worth every penny. The owners have done a fantastic job with the Comfy Cow and it is the perfect place to get away.

We spent a few days 'working from home' (the wifi was better than our own!) for a change of scenery but it was hard not to get distracted by the stunning views of the black mountains and beyond. We enjoyed beautiful walks close by and the highlight was hearing a tawny and a barn owl on a couple of occasions. We'd love to come again.

We realised the living area was going to be small, but the bedroom and bathroom were lovely. The living area has been well thought out and has everything that 2 people could need. We did find the sofa rather uncomfortable - it needed a higher back, but that may just be us! The view is great might be nice to have a parasol outside?

The cottage was cosy and gorgeous! The view was to die for and made getting up each morning an absolute joy. We were very lucky with the weather so got to sunbathe and sit outside but when the weather broke it was also amazing to sit and watch the lightning given the sheer expanse of sky. Kathy was super helpful when we couldn't get the dishwasher working and there were a few lovely treats to greet us when we arrived, which was a lovely touch. Very glad we found this place given we booked only a week before going; absolutely stunning and the cattle grazing out front were a pleasure! Would love to go to again in future and would definitely recommend it as a cosy home away from home.
