  • "PLEASE do not be put off with the front picture of this cottage, it does it no justice at all, once parked round the back and using the track there, it becomes totally different, Garden was ideal for our escape artist Bailey, no escape there, the garden neat with seating of plenty, the cottage was so modern and beautiful inside, with more than all the appliances etc ever needed, beds were comfortable and everything was just around the corner, most coves were within 15 minute drive, and there are lots of them, we found these pretty empty too, and the views around them are mind blowing, we enjoyed Freshwater East tbh but all were Fantastic and so close…."

  • "Had a great stay at Holly Cottage The property is in a quiet road is spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything you need."

    An added bonus of a beautiful garden and off road parking at the back of the property.. Excellent communication from Sue throughout and we even had some milk and Welsh Cakes to welcome us. Perfect location for visiting lots of places and the town only 5 minutes walk away with shops pubs and restaurants. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Although the cottage was clean and comfortable, the area of where it was was not very inspiring."

    You have to park around the back in an unmade passageway as the street was very narrow outside the from. We had neighbours knocking the front door as they thought we had parked outside their house !!! Quite a run down area !!

  • "A very generously equipped, impeccably clean and cosy little home-from-home in a very quiet little street."

    Although the 2nd bedroom is fairly basic with little storage space, the beds in both rooms are gloriously comfy. Offroad parking provision is a godsend and the securely enclosed garden is a wonderfully convenient and reassuring bonus for guests with dogs. The outside space must be delightful if you are lucky enough to coincide with good weather. A fabulous base from which to explore this beautiful area.

    Walking distance to everything we needed and close enough to all the best places to go. Only niggle is there were no instructions for appliances and a guest book would have been a lovely way to share info on best places to eat, etc. We enjoyed our stay and may come back again!

  • "We had a great week at Holly Cottage."

    It was very comfortable and relaxing, we loved the big kitchen and the garden for our little dog. It is in an extremely quiet lane with not external noises. We only had to drive short journeys to walk the beautiful coastpath and countryside. I've already recommended to my walking friends.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Holly cottage, it had everything we needed and more, the bed was super comfy, as was the pillows."

    The kitchen had every utensil you could want, the crockery was very good quality. It was so peaceful even with the town center just 5 minutes walk away. We made use of the black rabbit club at the top of the road the staff were very welcoming to us both and our dog. I would certainly recommend the cottage to friends and family, and hopefully would like to return in the future, as we had such a good time

    Kitchen well equipped, lounge and bedrooms comfortable. We visited in winter but imagine the lovely enclosed garden would be a fantastic space in spring and summer. Parking at rear a real bonus too. Highly recommended!

  • "Holly cottage is an absolute gem."

    This is the second time that we have stayed at the cottage. It has everything and more that you need for your holiday.The cottage although modern inside retains it's cottage feel. The beds are supper comfy. The garden is fully enclosed with excellent with good quality garden furniture. It is only a few minutes walk from the town and castle. The owners have done an excellent job on the cottage. We would highly recommend Holly cottage. We are hoping to book again for next year.

    The garden was absolutely beautiful and the kitchen was very well equipped. If I could make one suggestion it would be to get curtains installed in the bedroom at the back as the room is flooded with light very early which woke my children up. Fabulous location, very quiet area. We will definitely return!

    Please note the property has a freezer not listed in Sykes description. We have enjoyed a very comfortable stay and of course the weather was kind to us which always helps.     A few minutes walk into town and a lovely dog walk around the castle. The cottage is beautifully furnished and not with the usual second hand furniture you sometimes get. All furniture and fixtures are first class. Good off road parking too. It was a pleasure to stay here and Sue was very helpful. We will stay here again for sure.

  • "The Bungalow was spotless on arrival and there was no smells of any previous dogs being there."

    The kitchen has all the necessary fixtures and it was great to have a full size freezer as well. Beds were very comfy and the garden was excellent size to be able to sit out. The garden is also very secure if taking dogs. It was an extra bonus to have a parking space big enough for one car down the lane behind the property. I would highly recommend this property for a holiday. Thank you Sue!!!

  • "So clean and well appointed- everything that you would need."

    I would suggest that the slabs on the steps are attended to - a bit loose. From the front, before you go in, it looks a bit poor, but inside it is excellent. Our dogs enjoyed the garden. Pembroke itself is a bit tired- Kings Arms is good. Watermans Arms is very friendly, as is the Hope. We had a good week!

    With a modern but homely feel the cottage is fully equipped and has everything you need. With a secure garden for your dogs to play in, although not unsupervised as there is a steep drop from the garden to the patio.

    It was in a perfect location for exploring. There were two adults and a dog and the size was ideal for us. Garden was perfect for the dog, private and safe.   • "Fantastic holiday cottage in a lovely location."

    The owner, Sue, met us on arrival and was both friendly and helpful in pointing out all the lovely dog-friendly beaches in the area. The exceptionally-clean cottage had everything you needed and the garden was so safe and secluded for both ourselves and our dog. We would definitely recommend a stay here - you really couldn't ask for more! With activity-driven children to entertain, there is lots to do in the area. They loved the Celtic Quest Coasteering at Abereiddy and the Carew Karting at Sageston. Pembroke Castle is well worth a visit and we all enjoyed rowing around it using Paddle West Castle Row Boats - our black labrador, Bailey, was even allowed in the boat too. Fantastic holiday!

  • "We just enjoyed a perfect week at Holly Cottage."

    The cottage was everything we wanted and more! Every detail had been considered and we didn't want for anything. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds were SO comfy! The garden is an absolute marvel! It's fully enclosed and totally secure, which was brilliant for my dog (houdini has nothing on her). I was able to let her wander in and out as she pleased, safe in the knowledge that she couldn't come to any harm. The garden also has lovely furniture for enjoying the sunshine from morning to evening. The owner, Sue, was lovely and welcoming and gave us lots of little tips of beautiful places to see in the area, we loved everything so much that we've already booked a return visit later this year and look forward to seeing Sue again and relaxing in this gem of a home from home.

The property

Holly Cottage enjoys a wonderfully central position in the medieval town of Pembroke, boasting a single-storey layout and enclosed garden.

This lovely Pembrokeshire dwelling is perfect for a family holiday to South Wales, with award-winning beaches just a simple drive away, along with many family-friendly attractions in the surrounding area.

Be welcomed in through the front door and down the hall, into the kitchen/diner where you can flick the kettle on and prepare a post-adventure snack, with a good range of appliances in the fitted kitchen for rustling up your favourite dishes, and a dining table to bring the group together for mealtimes.

From here, make your way into the sitting room, boasting a sofa and an armchair, you can unwind into your evening here with the gas fire providing extra warmth as you enjoy a film on the TV.

On sunnier days, spend time out in the lovely enclosed garden, providing a great space for your dog to stretch their legs, and for your group to delight in alfresco dining on the patio, games and fun on the lawn, or evening drinks on the rear decking on a balmy evening.

Back in the house off the main hallway, discover two excellent bedrooms to rest in, both home to double beds and TVs, along with plenty of storage for your things, while a shared family bathroom offers a lovely spot to freshen up in.

The town of Pembroke is on your doorstep, with a short stroll bringing you up close with Pembroke Castle, an imposing and historic building overlooking Mill Pond and birthplace of Henry Tudor, definitely a Pembroke attraction not to be missed!

Hire a rowboat to go out on Mill Pond on a sunny afternoon, before unpacking a picnic in Lower Common Park or choose from the awesome selection of cafés and restaurants.

Make your way to Pembroke Dock and visit the heritage centre here before heading to the harbour, with plenty of opportunities for fishing charters from here.

A host of fun-filled adventure parks and theme parks lie in the surrounding area including Heatherton World of Activities, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, Dinosaur Trail, Oakwood Theme Park, and Bluestone Adventure Centre.

All ages are sure to enjoy a trip to Manor Wildlife Park, home to tigers, rhinos, red pandas, and many more.

Venture over to the coast when the sun is shining and head to the likes of Tenby and Saundersfoot, both offering fantastic sandy beaches.

Embark on an exciting Saundersfoot Sea Safari and head out onto the water in the hopes of catching sight of seals, dolphins, minke whales and basking sharks, or admire the beautiful sea views as you play a round of golf at Tenby Golf Club.

A medieval walled town, Pembroke is home to a magnificent castle, which was the birthplace of Henry Tudor. In an idyllic location, on the river estuary, this historic town has an abundance of shops, quaint tea rooms and restaurants. There is a popular cycle route that starts here, taking you through the pretty village of St Florence and then on to Tenby.
