  • "We loved our stay at La Bastille,it was the perfect cottage for us and our dogs as we have 1 elderly and 1 disabled dog."

    The large garden was great for the dogs being all 1 level,and we had a week of beautiful weather to sit out and enjoy it. The cottage was beautiful and clean,and has everything that we needed for our holiday. We had some really hot weather all week and the cottage stayed fairly cool inside which was lovely. The cottage is beautifully decorated, the bathroom was stunning,as was the whole of the interior of the property,it was also perfectly situated for exploring Pembrokeshire. We will most definitely be back.

  • "A beautiful comfortable home with plenty of space."

    Very dog friendly, with a good spacious garden. Only issue was the damp musty smell in the utility room, even stronger when opening the cupboard doors at the washing machine. Not sure if it’s maybe flooded from the machine at some point and not dried properly. I do however seem to have a heightened sense of smell and I was the only member of our party who noticed it.

  • "A clean, well equipped and comfortable stay."

    Everything we needed was there. The teens loved the play shed and enjoyed many games of darts in the evenings. The garden was beautiful, although with the heat wave - the cool of the house was most welcome. Fabulous village with local shop Sarah’s’ for anything you might need. Cafe opposite did a yummy takeaway on Thursday night. We visited different areas of the Pembrokeshire coast - basically 40 minutes in various directions. Gorgeous walks on the doorstep too. Dogs, children and grown-ups all had a fabulous time.

  • "Accommodation was lovely."

    Very well equipped. We loved the fire and the dogs liked the enclosed garden. Owner was helpful when we had to contact her on arrival about WiFi, the tv was old and temperamental and didnt always connect to wifi so not always a smart tv. We enjoyed the location and the cafe opposite and the various beaches within a forty minute drive away. Only slight recommendations is maybe some blinds or nets in bedroom windows as without drawing the curtains we had no privacy from opposite neighbours when getting dressed and the lights were energy saving so was quite dark getting ready. Overall we loved our stay!

    Hi Anne, Thanks for the feedback. The TV is only 3 years old but I agree it is a bit slow to respond to the remote. It usually only loses connection when the weather is very bad as the area doesn't have high speed Internet and so it runs off mobile Wifi to get the speeds.   • "La Bastille is very nicely decorated and spacious enough for 5 adults and a toddler."

    Beds extremely comfy. I agree with previous post recommending a stairgate at the top of the stairs. Parking for 3 cars on the drive is a bit tight but there is a car park around the corner. We couldn’t find starter pack for the fire. An easily visible sign to help locate the secret cutlery drawer within a drawer might be handy, plus instructions for the appliances if possible. The pub across the green is very welcoming and friendly. It is useful to know that the local shop takes cash only. Overall a beautiful and unique place to stay.

  • "We have stayed at La Bastille several times before, and will again."

    It’s a real home from home which is beautifully appointed and equipped. The beds are very comfortable ensuring a great nights sleep. The village itself is so friendly and welcoming with lots of amenities. There is a small shop right next door and Sarah’s in the village has everything you could possibly need. There is also a pub, 2 garages and brilliant cafe.

  • "Fabulous property with everything you could wish for nothing missed out except maybe a laundry basket in the bathroom (easier when you have kids)."

    Literally everything had been thought about and is a good base for exploring beautiful south wales. Great beaches at Coppett Hall and Tenby, lovely local shop Sarah's selling everything you need and the cafe across the road was great. On the whole a wonderful holiday.

    Very comfortable home from home. Well equipped kitchen, wanted for nothing. Bed lovely and comfortable, black out curtains ensured we slept in. Lovely village with a pub and well stocked shop, not to mention the cafe so, all just across the road. Highly recommend.

  • "We had a lovely stay at La Bastille."

    Great enclosed garden for our 2 dogs and off road parking. Good location for exploring the area. Lots of crockery and cutlery but let down by only 6 cups, we felt it could do with more. Overall great property that we would recommend.

  • "Lovely holiday home with double access to a small enclosed garden which was perfect for our 4 small dogs, and a games room for us."

    The utility room was perfect for our crate storage and the fitted stair gate meant there was no access upstairs for the dogs. The home was perfectly set out, including a very informative booklet of local amenities etc & we loved exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline. This was our second visit and I’m sure we will be back!

  • "Wow, stunning property and great stay!"

    We loved learning the history of the cottage and there has clearly been so much thought into the renovation. Very warm and friendly feeling, immaculate and like a home from home. Highly recommend and would consider staying again if we find ourselves back in the area. For the owners only - I think we left a big bag of dog food in the cupboard in the utility room. We forgot our cup for it so think a mug is still in it, completely forgot! Please make use or donate to a local dog rescue/shelter. Also apologies the dishwasher was still drying as we left so some crockery was left in there. Thanks for having us stay!

  • "Really comfortable, spacious cottage."

    Good space for games room,unfortunately we couldn't make use of garden due to weather but heyho it is February. Good to have off road parking.Great shower and freestanding bath,comfy beds and sofas,everything you need except for a corkscrew. Would definitely return and recommend

La Bastille is an inviting detached holiday home located in Maenclochog (formerly the local jail!), an award winning village in the heart of Pembrokeshire.
