The cottage was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The kingsize bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely view of the creek from the downstairs and bedroom windows. The children had an amazing time crabbing from the quayside next to the cottage and exploring the woods over the stepping stones. The owners live next door and were extremely welcoming, giving us advice about interesting places to visit. Even the rain didn’t spoil things as we cosied up with the wood burner lit. The cottage is beautifully decorated and everything is to hotel standard. It was so nice to sleep so well in a such a good quality bed and bedding. So often other holiday rents have been let down due to cheap beds and their after effects. We look forward to going back and have recommended the cottage to friends.

My partner and I will definitely be going to Laburnham Cottage again.

About the location

CRESSWELL QUAY

Pembroke 7 miles; Tenby 8 miles; Narberth 10 miles.

One of the most picturesque villages in Pembrokeshire, Cresswell Quay is best described as a delightful hamlet of scattered cottages at the edge of the tidal estuary. The central focal point is, of course, the old quay where boats can still moor, for the time the tide allows, and you may wish to pop into the Cresselly Arms for light refreshments. The Cresselly Arms is one of the oldest pubs in Wales and fully retains its original character and quirkiness, drawing people from far and wide including a few celebrities who have enjoyed a pint in complete relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of larger towns. Regular seasonal fun is had with pig roasts, barbecues, duck races and the local meeting of the hounds or why not enjoy the stepping stones revealed at low tide, which are great fun for all the family to try and cross without getting wet? Wonderful woodland or coastal walks can be enjoyed from the village, while Lawrenny, Carew Castle and Carew Mill are all just a short drive away. Within easy reach of sandy beaches, boat trips for bird watching, an array of castles, theme parks and zoos, Cresswell Quay is a perfect, picturesque base from which to discover this lovely area of Pembrokeshire.
