St Florence 2.6 miles.

Resting in Redberth near St Florence in Pembrokeshire is Love Cottage, a cosy retreat for a couple wanting to explore the best of the coast, countryside and bustling towns of this area of South Wales.

Park your car in the designated parking space, passing the small patio area with seating beside the front, where you can enjoy a morning coffee, before heading into the single-storey cottage to find a welcoming, neutrally decorated living space with wooden flooring, a choice of two sofas to relax on, one of which can be converted into a bed if you have a third guest with you, while the electric fire warms the space as you snuggle down to enjoy your favourite shows on the TV.

Just behind is a compact but well-equipped kitchen area with all the mod cons you could need for your self-catered stay; there's even a dishwasher to take care of the washing up.

The inviting double bedroom is the perfect place to catch up on sleep, with a large wardrobe that will comfortably fit all of your belongings, and prepare for each new day with a refreshing rinse in the bathroom's walk-in shower.

Head out of the patio doors from the living room onto the enclosed courtyard, where you can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or an alfresco lunch in the summer sunshine.

Head into the village of St Florence, just over two miles away, to find a village shop for your essentials, or grab a bite to eat at the welcoming pub or nearby garden centre, which has an on-site café.

Visit Manor Wildlife Park and discover a variety of exotic wildlife, embark on an enchanting trail at Dinosaur Park, and participate in an action-packed afternoon of activities such as paintballing and archery at Heatherton World of Activities.

Drive towards the Pembrokeshire coastline and the popular resort of Tenby, approximately five miles away, renowned for its picturesque sandy beaches, idyllic harbour, coastal castle perched on a headland overlooking the sea, and attractions including the National Trust's Tudor Merchant's House and the Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.

Hop on a boat from the harbour and head one mile out to sea towards Caldey Island to see a variety of birdlife that inhabits the island, as well as a lighthouse and a museum.

You can also access the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and head east towards the popular seaside resort of Saundersfoot or head west towards Freshwater East and its nature reserve.

Further afield is the town of Pembroke, with its magnificent castle, which was the birthplace of Henry Tudor, as well as a local history museum, and during the summer, hire a row boat for a leisurely paddle across Mill Pond.

Love Cottage is well-placed for discovering the finest resorts and attractions in Pembrokeshire.

Pembroke 11 miles; Carmarthen 26 miles.

The bustling seaside resort of Tenby, known within Wales as “The Jewel in the Crown", is majestically positioned on the spectacularly beautiful 'Welsh Riviera'. Tenby is part of the stunning 186 mile Pembrokeshire Coast National Park where the water is warmed by the Gulf Stream and the county is one of the sunniest places in the UK. Enclosed by medieval walls, this beautiful town features a maze of cobbled streets, hosting an array of quirky shops, indoor locally-sourced food market, tea rooms and tempting restaurants. Almost three miles of stunning, Blue Flag-awarded beaches provide a variety of watersports, whilst walkers and cyclists can enjoy the local flora and fauna on the coastal paths, something the competitors of the world-renowned Tenby Iron-Man contest (held in mid-September) haven’t time for! A boat trip to Caldey Island is recommended to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the monastery and island scenery, and you can enjoy seal and puffin sightings en-route! Explore the magnificent Tudor Merchant's House, or visit the nearby resorts of Saundersfoot or Manobier.
