And nice outdoor seating which considering the location was well done. Cons: the cottage is essentially surrounded by car parks, the tv

  • "A clean, cosy and well equipped cottage in a great location for the town, beach and coastal paths."

The public car park to the front of the property was not a problem. Overall we had a nice quiet and comfortable stay but…….. The twin room is accessed by the open tread painted wooden stairs which need to be treated with a good deal of respect! As others have said the settee is comfortable but low and for some people (us) this can be difficult to get up from. The gas fire is mounted on a stone slab (no doubt to meet fire regulations) and is very easy to trip over due to furniture positioning. The listing states parking for three cars – they would have to be very small cars! The access to the cottage is narrow and can be obstructed by car parking for adjacent businesses. Exiting the property onto the main street was difficult at times, again due to cars - parked close to and across the exit alleyway. This was in March so I wonder what the summer would be like?

Very clean well decorated and very close proximity to shops ,pubs , harbour and beach . Two minor complaints , we are both late seventies and struggled to get off the low settee although it was comfortable . Second we are not techi and even with manufacturers instructions could not operate the microwave . In spite of this we had a great holiday . Lots of places to visit in the local area .

The only down side would be noise as it backs on to a car park and worse still a night club making sleeping with windows open impossible. Having said that it is in a great location if the above would not matter too you then I would recommend.

It was the perfect size for a couple, and would be ok for a family of 4, but I think it might be a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults, particularly the living room area.

  • "The cottage was clean and very comfortable."

Due to the time of year we expected it to be cold but the cottage was lovely and warm. The owners have done a lovely job of decorating. It felt spacious and modern. The weather was kind to us and we were able to enjoy late afternoon sun on the patio. Beds and linens were lovely . It was in a great position and meant we didn't have to use the car all the time. Plenty of takeaways and the little Tesco on the doorstep. We will definitely recommend this to friends and family and will visit again if they have any free weeks.

  • "On arriving at the property it was raining quite hard, we noticed there was a leak running down the inside wall and back being the gas fire which had an electric ignition, after getting our luggage in, I decided to ring the owner to tell him of the leak, which i did, sadly we had no response from the owner which meant we were unable to use the gas fired log fire which would have been great."

We have stayed in a few properties in Saundersfoot and sadly we would not stay here again. If you have mobility issues it would not be suitable and there is no wheelchair access, it was also not the cleanest of places as i found out when i closed the blinds in the bedroom, i (Mr) wiped the blinds over with some kitchen roll and you could tell they hadnt been cleaned for some time. There is an external light which helps when you got to the front door but if you are walking home the lane down to the cottage is quite dark so you have to watch your footing. It took quite some time to pack up all the bedding, towels, cushion covers and bathroom mats so you need to get up early on the day you are leaving, we actually left a day early so we wouldnt have to rush to do that. On a scale of 1 to 10 i would say this was a 6, it is all about personal choice i appreciate that it just wasnt as nice as other places we have stayed in in Saundersfoot. Being unable to use the gas fire and the ceilings being really high it was hard to keep the place warm even though we turned the thermostat up high.

We were not troubled by any noise although next to a car park. You cannot really see the car park due to hedging. Cottage is very light and bright and warm too. Everything we needed to cook etc was there. Beds were comfy with nice quality bedding. Wi-fi worked well. I would say the private parking is more suitable for 2 small cars rather than three. We only had one and therefore the space was more than adequate. Is there were any negatives, it would be the stairs. They would benefit from a anti slip surface. Saundersfoot itself is fairly small but has a good selection of pubs and restaurants. Tenby is close enough to walk to (3 miles) via the road or coast path. There are frequent bus services here and to other locations. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Thanks to Sykes and the cottage owners.
