Very well kitted out and excellent communication with the owners about travel and arrival details. The setting is great - only a mile walk to the beach. The old Ironworks are interesting and loads of places to walk so ideal if you have a dog. Very peaceful location.

  • "The site was the most beautiful and pristine I have ever experienced."

The lodge was luxurious and comfortable, also pristine. The hosts were available to us, but not in an intrusive way. Our original holiday plans (an all inclusive break in Cape Verde) were cancelled due to Covid, but we do not feel we missed out at all. There was loads to do locally, that was dog friendly. We were blessed with the weather too, but feel even if it had not been so warm we would have been entertained and comfortable. My only worry is that this has spoilt us for other UK holiday as I don’t think anywhere else could live up to Wales and The Haven lodge.

The location was fantastic with a 20 minute walk to Wisemans Bridge beach and pub and shirt car drive to many other places. The added touches such as texting us when the lodge was ready, leaving milk, wine and welsh cakes for arrival, meant a lot. The Internet was great with up to date streaming devices and facilities on the television. As a mum of 2 children, having a washing machine there was just brilliant too! We thoroughly recommend staying here.

  • "My wife and I have just had a splendid week at this holiday lodge."

It's perfectly situated for some lovely walks by the sea and surrounding countryside. There was a great welcome basket with fresh milk, cake and wine on arrival. The cupboard already had tea and other essentials as well. It's a bit of a Tardis, and once inside it's like a home away from home. Tidy, beautifully presented with a great kitchen for a lovely meal after a long walk. The rooms were warm and clean and beds very comfortable. We'll certainly be back Mr and Mrs McCorriston

  • "We found the lodge was not as clean as we expected."

Food still on plates, tables and coasters sticky. Light switches covered in a brown substance, maybe chocolate? The lid of the kitchen bin was really mucky. My wife spent a good while cleaning up,then it was fine. Maybe they need to speak to their cleaners? It would be a shame to put other people off as last year the lodge was really clean. The only other issue we had was every morning at 08.00 a workman turned up to put new decking on a lodge right behind. He had the radio on in his van and windows open, and of course was sawing, drilling and hammering. Now,I understand that this work needs to be done, but by mid day he had packed up and left. Could he not have started an hour later in the morning? I get up for work all year around I dont really want to get up early on holiday. But of course that has nothing to do with the lodge owner or Sykes, just a little annoying.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Under normal circumstances I conduct the cleaning of the lodge and strive myself on ensuring outstanding cleanliness levels. Regrettably on this occasion due to a personal event, I entrusted someone else to do the cleaning on behalf and offer my sincerest apologies if it was not up to standard. With relation to the workman I appreciate your comments and your feedback will be taken on board. I see from the scoring of the property you still scored us highly so I am sure you still had a lovely time at the lodge. Thank you for your feedback and I hope to see you back again next year. Kind regards, Property Owner

  • "Another enjoyable stay at Heritage Park."

We did feel from the descrition that there would be 2 tv’s. Unfortunately the cleanliness of the bedding was not as it should have been, bad stains on the duvets, and the pillows could have done with airing, there was enough bedding tho to use; the cutlery should have been checked as definitely needed washing before use, but as this was a break for a convalescence rest we did not raise these matters immediately. Nevertheless we enjoyed our break and will be returning with a friend to visit Heritage Park again later in the year. Thank you Sykes.

The chalet was in all respects excellent. Mr. Hall sent us really good instructions on how to get there. We notice that the price for next year is much higher but I think it is still reasonable given the standard. The location is great for everyone. The beaches around are stunning and lots of attractions especially for our grandson aged 3 years.
