The only gripe is the upstairs bedroom The stairs are far to dangerous for small children and could do with a better locking system then a small bolt that the children can undo easily on the makeshift stair gate at the top of the stairs Apart from that the house is lovely fabulous location

  • "This is a lovely homely property."

The location is fantastic just up above the harbour, just yards away from shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The facilities are good, the provision of freezer, although I appreciate the kitchen is small would be a definite advantage. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

Dear Deborah Thank you for your feedback and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. As you say the kitchen is pretty compact but if we can work out a way to fit a freezer in albeit a small one we will. Kindest regards Sue Property Owner

Kids loved it too. Some steep stairs to be wary of but that’s the nature of the house. Sykes need to update the check in and check out times as they differ from the info given by the owners.

Dear Felicity, apologies for the late reply to your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and the house. We have aligned the check in and out times with Sykes, thank you for raising this. Kindest regards Sue & Mike Property Owner

  • "The main thing the property has going for it is location, which was fantastic."

A great spot to enjoy the wonderful town of Tenby. The property however was a bit ragged round the edges - there is a visible damp/condensation issue, which you can also smell the minute you walk in. We had to get the windows open immediately. In the kitchen, the hob didn't work properly, we thought about letting the owner know but didn't want to spend time sorting this out during our holiday. It wasn't very clean - sticky surfaces, litter in the courtyard, etc. The courtyard would have been a lovely space but the table and chairs were unusable as they were falling apart. The bedrooms and bathrooms were lovely. To summarise, the location of the property made all negative things tolerable, however the property could do with a bit of TLC and a deep clean.

Dear John Thank you for your feedback and we are so glad you liked the location of our cottage, it really is very special. However we are sorry you had some issues. Just for your information as although it will not now impact your holiday we would like you to know we are taking your comments seriously. We had the hob replaced the week before your visit as one of the rings was not lighting but we were not aware this brand new hob was faulty. The guests who arrived after you left called us and our plumber went to check. There was, as you say a fault so he replaced it with another new one straight away. Regarding the cleaning I have passed your comments onto our cleaning company and await their feedback and what action they plan to take as it is clearly not acceptable to have sticky surfaces/litter etc. We have ordered new furniture for the yard which is due to be delivered shortly but like the hob, we were not aware the table and chairs were falling apart. We knew they were looking tired (all the sea air/salt and seagull poo takes its toll!) hence the new ones on order. We appreciate that you didn't want to spend time on your holiday letting us know about these issues and appreciate you taking the time now so we can rectify for future guests. As we are not on the doorstep and we are booked back to back for the season we do reply on guests (and our cleaners) letting us know of issues so we appreciate the time taken. Warmest regards Sue & Mike Property Owner

Great property, very clean and Sue was lovely and very accommodating. Easy to find and parking permit used by one family in our party and we parked in the multi storey which was reasonable at £5 a day. Would definitely look to book again.

  • "Have stayed in many self-catering properties and this was up with the best for cleanliness and comfort."

I can never understand why, however, the owners do not act on comments from previous tenants, especially if it is ‘like their home’, as was suggested. For example the broken fridge was very annoying. One gas ring didn’t work. These had been mentioned but not addressed. Also the information booklet needs updating as one recommended restaurant was permanently closed and the WiFi code was wrong. It was a while before I found the card with the correct WiFi information.

Dear Lindsay, We are very pleased you were happy with the standard of the accommodation. We had recently changed cleaners and have been really happy with their attention to detail. With regards to the fridge and gas ring our sincere apologies for these issues, they have both been replaced after spare parts and maintenance did not fix the issues. Please be assured we did not ignore the comments but it took a little while to find someone to replace both. Regarding the information book you are right there were several changes in the town with regard to restaurants after Covid which have been a little hard to keep up to date with and there is a real shortage of staff in the area which has also impacted opening hours. We have since updated the info to the best of our knowledge but do recommend that guests check on opening hours and make bookings in advance especially in peak season as the restaurants do get really busy. Again apologies for the WIFI code, our provider sent us a new up to date modem and we had not been there to note the new code in the info book. I do hope these annoyances did not spoil your holiday too much. Also I do apologise for the late response, we had a very serious family situation last summer/autumn and were not perhaps as focused on the cottage as we would normally be. Kindest regards Sue & Mike Property Owner

Dear Jason, I'm glad you found our cottage very clean, keeping our guests safe at the moment is a key priority. Our check in/out hours have always been 10am and 3pm but on the advise of Sykes Cottages and our cleaners we have temporarily changed our hours to keep all our guests as safe as possible. We are very sorry this affected your enjoyment of your weekend and we will be returning to our usual hours as soon as it is safe to do so. Kindest regards Sue & Mike Property Owner

  • "The cottage is in such a good place for all the activities in the centre of Tenby."

Having a permit for parking was a huge plus. We were able to walk everywhere, and enjoy this beautiful town, and above all take best advantage of everything going on during the long course weekend. The character of the cottage and its quirkiness is such an attraction. We loved every minute of our weekend, had a great time all round...and have booked the same cottage for July next year!

The only down side is with the rubbish expecting guests to get rid of at the end of the holiday. And then when taking it to the tip to be told that they do not take this rubbish you will have to take it home with you. I think it should be something that the cleaners takeaway on when they’re ending cleaning. Kind regards The Stanley’s

  • "We had a brilliant week at this cottage."

The location is amazing - 1 minute from the shops, beaches and harbour. Parking is not a problem as there is a permit included with the house. The space is in the harbour which is a 2 minute walk away. There was always a space and it is very safe to leave your car there. There are restrictions on cars during July, August and September but you can still get in and out of the town with the permit. A previous review said that their car was stuck each day but this is not the case. As long as you have the permi, you are free to come and go as you like. The owner sends you a copy of the permit before you go so you can get in on the day of arrival. You can also unload the car at the bottom of the street. The house itself is lovely. It has everything you need. We have two small kids and everything was there for us. There is a washing machine, clothes horse, vacuum and iron. They have plastic plates, cups and there is washing up liquid, tin foil etc all there. The stairs to the third floor are really steep but our 4 and 5 year olds were fine with it. They also loved the basement area where they could have some space to themselves. There is a small back garden but the location of this house means you are one minute from amazing beaches. The house is really clean and comfortable. There is so much to do in Tenby and the surrounding area. This was one of the best holidays we have had as a family and we have already booked again for next August.
