  • "We had the most wonderful few days staying at the Evansford cottage in Ballater for my birthday."

    The cottage is beautiful and the decor is just stunning - I want to renovate my house to look the same! We couldn’t fault anything, all the small details including a lovely bottle of wine and birthday message for me upon arrival was greatly appreciated! Our dog had a wonderful time too and the biscuits provided were appreciated by her! The location is so ideal and there is parking right outside too. We will definitely stay again and have highly recommended to our friends and family.

  • "One of the best cottages we have stayed in."

    It was cold outside but very warm and cosy inside. Well appointed with lovely furniture and decoration. Great location in town. The dog loved it too!

  • "We booked the Evansford to celeberate Christmas 2025."

    Fiona was a wonderful host and even reached out in advance to ask if we would like to have the cottage decorated, which we did and it was delightful. The cottage was immaculately clean and well presented. The facilities are modern and there is plenty of space for 6 people. Fiona happened to be in Ballater during our stay and even dropped in on us once to check if we were comfortable. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we thoroughly enjoyed spending our Christmas there.

  • "Evansford was extremely comfortable,cozy and spacious."

    The underfloor heating and back hall for storage was great. The baths and showers are great. The cottage is very close to the shops, cafes etc. Ballater is a lovely town with amenities and great walks. We would definitely recommend the cottage to family and friends and hope to return soon.

  • "We has a fantastic week away in this lovely cottage which has been done to a high standard."

    It's in a quite location with the shops, eating places & pubs a very short walk away. It's the perfect location to explore Ballater & the beautiful surrounding area of Royal Deeside. On our visit to Balmoral we saw King Charles III

  • "This is a really homely cottage with an excellent standard of decoration & cleanliness."

    We absolutely loved our stay & will definitely look to book again. It might be helpful to know that there is not a toilet upstairs & that the garden is accessed through a neighbours garden so dogs need put on leads. This did not put us off but if you’ve got a dog that needs out in the night it might be a consideration. Really well equipped kitchen & luxury bathrooms. Great location for both local services & exploring further afield.

Yes the shared garden access isn’t ideal, unfortunately that is within the deeds of the property but I will take your feedback on board and try and make this clearer within the listing. we have completed a renovation around the corner which does have private driveway, garden access so this may be more suitable for your guests in the future.   • "The decor and interior furnishings at Evansford are beautiful and the cottage lovely and clean and warm and very well equipped ."

    Comfortable beds and great showers and big deep baths all added to a fabulous stay . The cottage is easily accessible with parking on the road outside . A front and back entrance makes it easy with 2 dogs who enjoyed the underfloor heating in the back cloakroom snuggled on their dog beds and ample space for walking boots and coats without needing to come through the main house . A quiet central location within short walking distance of shops and restaurants making this a perfect location to explore the Highlands and Cairngorms National Park . Fabulous walks with stunning scenery without needing to drive .

  • "A cracking cottage in the heart of Ballater."

    It’s located in a great location, the beds are comfortable, and the property is sneakily big . Can tell a lot of thought and effort has been put into the interior and it really makes for a great stay. We had our dog with us and had no issues at all with access to the private garden, the next-door neighbour is absolutely lovely (as was her cat) and even provided our pup with some treats. An excellent stay.

  • "Evansford is a beautiful cottage in an ideal location for visiting Ballater, Balmoral Castle, and the Cairngorms."

    Its location within Ballater made it easy to pop out for a coffee or to pick up groceries, as well as for a wander through town, or hike on the numerous nearby trails. The cottage itself is homely and very well-designed. Its colourful decorations made it feel like a home-away-from-home, and it was well-equipped for rainy-day visits, too. We will enthusiastically recommend it to friends, and will almost certainly book another stay in future ourselves.

  • "We had such an amazing stay at Evansford."

    The town was beautiful with plenty to do locally and further afield. The accommodation was clean, felt luxurious and had everything we needed. The kids loved the bedrooms and the space to play. Everything felt like a home away from home. Evansford is located in such a beautiful area and we will definitely be back. Bringing the dog and having access through the neighbours garden was not an issue at all as the neighbour was such a lovely lady.

  • "Absolutely loved Evansford."

    The property is immaculate, the standard of finish is really first class. You can tell the owners have put a lot of effort into its recent refurbishment. The area is so quiet even though it’s central and the amenities in the village can’t be faulted. The cottage is beautifully presented and it was a pleasure returning after a day out to a soak in one of the huge baths. I’d definitely book again and the only negative is we had to leave when our stay was over.

  • "Evansford is a stunning property in a beautiful location."

    The property's facilities are excellent and the quality of everything in Evansford is first class. When we arrived we were booked over by this house. The cleanliness was excellent and everything you needed was in the property. We loved it so much we booked another week. Which we have never done. I cannot find fault with Evansford . Even the neighbours are a delight. There were 3 adults and 1 child and the property worked perfectly. We will be returning.
