  • "Another great week at this cottage."

    The location is perfect for our two Springers with easy access to the beach and the woods. There are so many places to explore nearby. We enjoyed visiting Southwold, Halesworth, Walberswick and Woodbridge . The courtyard is secure for dogs and a real sun trap. The cottage is clean, comfortable and well equipped with lots of doors opening out to the courtyard. The tile flooring throughout is perfect for dogs. Dunwich is a real sleepy little village with a very friendly local pub.The owners live on site and responded promptly when we contacted them. Only slight improvement would be to have a curtain ( other than a net curtain ) over the door in the main bedroom. I’m sure we will be visiting again. Thank you

  • "Great place for two and dog location wise."

    Could be tiptop with a little more attention to the property. Fridge and cooker hood lights not working and I felt the cooker hood was in need of a deep clean . There was a definite lack of decent glassware and shortage of pans the frying pan needs to be renewed. Just small things that are easily remedied !

    A delightful spacious and well equipped property in lovely rural surroundings Ideally situated as a base to explore the East Suffolk area We can recommend the Sunday lunch at The Ship at Dunwich and we also had a top notch dinner at The Westleton Crown on our last evening The Westleton Village Stores was handy for bits and pieces but this is closed on Sundays so a trip out to Lewiston’s Co Op was needed to pick up a Sunday paper

  • "Lovely peaceful area of Suffolk next to Dunwich Forest and a short walk from Dunwich beach and the excellent Ship Inn."

    Spacious cottage which was warm and comfortable for our stay (mother, adult son, two dogs). The rooms were really sizeable and the gravelled and fully enclosed garden area was perfect to allow our dogs out to play. The kitchen was well lit but maybe could have done with a couple more pans, and larger deeper pasta bowls but otherwise there was everything we needed, including kitchen roll and washing up liquid, and some milk in the fridge. We did see the hosts briefly and appreciated their friendly approach. We hope that we left everything as they would like as we would love to visit again!

  • "Lovely stay at Avocet."

    Very spacious, bright but also warm and cosy, with great outside area. Especially good for holidaying with your dog. Walks on your doorstep, beach 5 minute walk away, pub even closer. Great location for visiting surrounding areas too! Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Nestled on the edge of Westleton Heath National Nature Reserve and near to the coast, this property is perfect for families and groups of friends wishing for a break from city life.

Step into a bright living space flooded with light from the floor-to-ceiling windows and feature ceiling beams where you'll find a kitchen equipped with everything you need to cook up your favourite meals and a dining area to enjoy them around, as well as a sitting area with plush sofa you can sink into to watch TV or read a book.

Push open the bi-fold patio doors when the sun is shining and make the most of the warmth out on the furnished terraced garden.

Saxmundham 6 miles; Southwold 9 miles; Aldeburgh 15 miles.

Westleton is an idyllic village near the Suffolk coast, nestled between Southwold and Aldeburg and offers all the attributes you could hope for in a Suffolk village, with a village green complete with pond and ducks. The village is easily accessible from the local train station at Darsham approximately two miles away. The village has a store, a bookshop where you can also enjoy a tea or coffee whilst browsing, an old fashioned garage, as well as two pubs, The White Horse Inn and The Westleton Crown, one of Suffolk’s best traditional inns where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate held their first wedding anniversary. Every August, Westleton hosts the infamous Barrel Rolling Fair where contestants have to roll barrels down the Village Green using a pole, and the men have to roll the barrel back up the hill too. Barrels are supplied and all are welcome to join in! The local Emmerdale Farm Shop and Butchery as well as a tea shop is approximately a mile away. The area is a haven for nature lovers with Westleton Heath National Nature Reserve, Dunwich Forest, Dunwich Beach with its famous fish and chip shop located on the beach, and the RSPB Minsmere, all close by. The town of Saxmundham, 6 miles away, is located on the River Fromus, in the heart of Suffolk’s Heritage Coast and is well serviced with independent shops, supermarkets and a train station, as well as art galleries, a weekly market and a farmers’ market.
