  • "This wonderful house is located in a beautiful spot."

    The views over Buss Creek are marvellous, we were able to watch hen harriers from the living room. This home from home is extremely comfortable, clean and has the most luxurious body wash I have encountered. The welcome package showed that nothing was too much trouble for these hosts. We enjoyed it so much, that we are planning to book again next year!

  • "We had a very comfortable stay herewith 4 adults and 2 children."

    The house is very well presented and maintained. It is well equipped with comfortable beds. The location is beautiful and quiet but within easy reach of everything in Southwold. Great living space with plenty of comfortable seating and a very good garden for a holiday home. The 3rd bedroom is quite small, as described, but comfortable. We would stay here again.

  • "Great property with pretty much everything thought of and provided which was unusual and refreshing (a set of smaller tongs and a potato peeler were the only things we needed that weren't provided)."

    Very nicely decorated property, two of the bedrooms are on the small side but perfectly adequate for a week's stay. The cleaning was of a good standard and the property is also in a great location overlooking some marshland with walks through it and 5 mins from town. Unfortunately the property next door are currently having a rear extension built and as this is 1-2 metres away it spoiled our stay, with very significant noise 8am-4pm every weekday from the builders using pneumatic drills, cutting blocks with an angle grinder and clouds of dust regularly blowing over the back fence. We approached Sykes about this in a very pleasant and constructive way following our stay but their response was unreasonable and less than satisfactory - the owners denied that this happened (!?!) and Sykes' terms and conditions state that you might be staying next to a building site and therefore cannot complain about it. Somewhat bizarre response on both fronts and not great business sense, hence our low rating for our stay. A real shame as the property itself is great.

  • "The house was perfect for our family."

    So much space downstairs with the kitchen kitted out very well. A very comfortable home and garden with lovely views at the front. Lovely garden at the back, just a cold/wet to use for us. Would definitely like to go back as so comfortable, beds very comfy. Location couldn’t be better, lovely walk to the beach and town.

  • "Lovely house and garden."

    We had a great time - were very lucky with the weather. Despite not being the fastest walkers, we think it is a little closer to the sea than described (a good thing). Comfortable sitting room and beds. Good kitchen equipment and for once decent frying pans. We struggled a bit with the freezer - the top drawer didn't shut properly (some ice) and then iced up worse. I think it needs defrosting. I booked Long View as the right size, had a garden and upstairs and downstairs toilets - the listing could describe the upstairs shower room better as it is a very good shower. Loved the welcome pack - unadvertised and really good coffee. I would definitely recommend this house. But probably more suitable for 5 than 6 - the second double room is very small.

  • "We loved our stay here."

    An ideal place for my husband and me, our daughter and two grandchildren, aged 18 months and 3 years. A great layout, spacious and plenty of places to sit, inside and out. The two bathrooms - downstairs with bath, ideal for the children and upstairs one with shower for us adults - were ideal. The kitchen was spacious and well-equipped. It was an easy, quiet walk to the beach and also to a lovely playground near the church and to the fish ‘n’ chip shop just beyond. We all agreed we’d like to return.

  • "We absolutely loved the property."

    It was perfect for our family weekend. The house felt welcoming and very homely. The extra homely feel would have us returning again and again. It felt just like a perfect family home. The house was spacious and fully equipped with everything a family needs. It felt like the owners had thought of everything to make the house work for a worry free, comfy family break. There was ample room for 6 people and it was spotlessly clean. Beds were comfy and fresh with great pillows and bedding. Towels were fluffy and lovely. No need to pack tea towels or fairy liquid or soaps and shower gels, it’s all there. Location was great, lovely views and easy walking distance to beach and town. We loved this place and will defiantly return.

SOUTHWOLD

Lowestoft 13.4 miles; Ipswich 35.1 miles

Southwold is a seaside town situated along the East Suffolk coast within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and resting between Lowestoft and Ipswich. Southwold is known as the home of Adnams Brewery which was established in the town in 1872 and it also has its own lighthouse, a museum and a picturesque pier which has a selection of colourful beach huts and which plays host to the regular Southwold Model Yacht regatta. The town boasts a number of excellent restaurants and eateries with a particular nod to its seaside location so there is always plenty of seafood and fish on the menu. Southwold has some fantastic independent shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs which are great for a browse and to stock up on essentials for your holiday. Just outside Southwold there are a number of great attractions for the whole family including Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Museum as well as scenic towns such as Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Leiston and Lowestoft to visit.
