  • "We’ve just got back home from a wonderful week."

The house was amazing, like home from home. We lucked out on the weather too. Thank you, we will be back

  • "We’ve enjoyed another family holiday in Blackshore House."

I draw your attention to several actions so that you have the opportunity to fix the items for your next guests arrive. The property was presented very well with three exceptions. Firstly, was the state of the stainless steel mesh oven shelves. The top oven was particularly bad with most of the bars covered in black deposits and grease but the lower oven also not clean. We bought a steel wire scourer (good idea that provide one given all the SS pots and pans) and I spent best part of half an hour trying my best to clean them all using CIF, before we used the oven. It’s not perfect but a lot better and I suggest they are all cleaned professionally. We also discovered that the front door handle latch is jammed and we were told a work around. Your assistant offered to get the handle unit replaced but we were happy to make do. I suggest you now get it fixed. The other item is that the outdoor chain of lights blew with a bang coming from one of the first sockets which have no bulbs. Obviously needs attention.

  • "The cottage is absolutely lovely and we had a great time."

Beds are so comfy, and bedrooms and bathrooms first rate. Loved the lounge and the huge kitchen and dining area. We had a small issue with getting in as none of the codes worked, but fortunately Sykes were able to get us in. Small moan about the hot water as it wasn’t available all day as described and there was a lack of logs for the fire. Very minor inconveniences which didn’t spoil our stay

  • "As a family get-together we had a great time at Blackshore House."

Our criteria for accommodation were rather restricting - downstairs accommodation needed plus ability to bring family dog and these were perfectly met and the facilities were fantastic. Would definitely recommend and a very nice welcome pack too, thank you!

Lovely house and garden. There were some lovely touches, i.e the wine, crisps and biscuits that were left for us and the liquid soap from Mark and Spencers was loved by the ladies of the family!

  • "The upstairs bathroom door can become detached off the rail and the heavy door can fall on to you , which happened to one of our family members ."

It has been mentioned before in the guest book but it has not been acted on . Otherwise we would not fault the property at all.

  • "The property is very nice."

Comfortable , clean, good amenities and close to many places to visit and beaches. The only thing I would say is that the sliding door on the upstairs shower room is quite dangerous. It does not seem to have much of a runner. It came off numerous times and is a very heavy door. Lucky enough we managed to catch it each time but with 4 children 3 years and under in the house it was a worry. I think it either needs a normal hinged door or more runners put on it. Having said that it was very nice and would go there again.

  • "A beautifully appointed house in a quiet countryside setting."

Comfy beds, cosy lounge and plenty of space inside and out to relax in. The birds clearly love the moss on the roof and a yard brush would have been handy so we could sweep the patio area outside the lounge to avoid walking on it and bringing the dirt indoors. Our big concern was the positioning of the microwave in the high cupboard. Two of our group could not reach it and taking hot food out was very dangerous. We felt strongly that it should be located. The couple of issues we had whilst there were dealt very quickly. All in all a most delightful place to enjoy a wonderful break away. Easy assess to the Suffolk coast and countryside walks. Syrongly recommended.

Great location for dog walking with a heath behind the house with access from the back gate. Some great walks in the vicinity as well and many dog friendly pubs in the area. Best thing that can be said is that if we return to Suffolk we would not hesitate to come back to Blackshore House.
