  • "Swan Cottage In Arundel was the perfect place for us to stay and explore the Sussex coast."

It is spotlessly clean and comfortable with all the facilities you could wish for. It is close to the Castle and all the shops and pubs, and there is a brilliant view of the river. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday.

  • "Initial response on approaching Swan Cottage is the alarming noise from the main road."

However, once inside the property it is reassuring that the only issue is a reluctance to sit on the balcony! The noise at night did not disturb our sleep but obviously it is a constant. Beds/bedding excellent. The cottage is very comfortable and well maintained and equipped. And so convenient for access to facilities in Arundel - particularly the Parsons Table !! Carparking spaces a bonus.

  • "Swan Cottage is lovely!"

It is spacious, clean and well-equipped. It has a lovely view of the river (yes, with swans). Arundel was very pleasant - it was a joy to leave the car in one of the two reserved parking spaces close to the cottage and just wander at will, sight-seeing and shopping. An excellent holday!

Thank you for your lovely feedback, hope to see you again. Property Owner

Two parking spaces allowed two couples to bring cars. Most enjoyable.

  • "Swan Cottage was a delightful place to stay for a short break."

We loved the cleanliness and decor of the house and the fact that it was so well equipped. Easy walking access to Arundel itself was great, and being that it was just before Christmas, the decorations and little Christmas tree was a much appreciated touch.

The cottage is very comfortable and clean and very well maintained, the dishwasher broke during our stay and was replaced in less than 24 hours ! Every detail has been thought about to ensure all the guests needs are met. We had a fabulous time exploring the area and staying at Swan cottage. Thank you

  • "Beautiful house, very comfortable and really well equipped."

Perfectly located, just a short walk to a variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. Bit noisy as near a road, but a set of foam ear plugs sorts that. Arundel Castle is a must see and there is a lovely farm shop called Charlie’s about a 10 minute drive away. Try the LG cafe for fabulous cakes and La Campania for authentic Italian.

  • "Swan Cottage was a delightful residence that fully met our expectations."

It was comfortable, from the main lounge to the second lounge all was really good. The balcony overlooking the river was a delight. The beds were comfortable and warm. The bathrooms and showers were excellent, and the toilet on the ground floor was very convenient. The kitchen is modern and well kitted out. The owner also left us milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine to welcome us to our temporary home. Swan Cottage was our home for the week. Arundel is a lovely town with good pubs and excellent, if expensive, resturaunts. The surrounding area has many interesting places to visit, the pick of which was the Weald living museum, the home of BBCs "The Repair Shop". All in all, a very good choice for our holiday. Would highly recommend.

  • "Swan Cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay."

It was good to have two parking spaces and be able to walk into the town centre for shops and restaurants. Ellen was very helpful in emails prior to our arrival. The only issue that was not mentioned on Sykes website was the close proximity to the busy A27. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay.

  • "Swan Cottage was one of the best holiday properties of its kind that my wife and I have stayed in."

It had everything you could want: clean, spacious, well equipped, excellent attention to detail, a warm welcome from the host, off-street parking, and only a short walk into Arundel. The only downsides were beyond the owner's control: the fact that the river is less than picturesque at that point in its flow; and also the close proximity to the A27 (although the traffic becomes 'white noise' very quickly and can be ignored). A thoroughly enjoyable short break in accommodation that I would be happy to recommend to others.

  • "We had a marvellous holiday in Swan Cottage."

It was tastefully furnished, extremely comfortable and with every conceivable facility. The décor was clearly thoughtfully chosen and the outlook onto the river was a bonus. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather on each day except one. The opportunity to visit the beautiful Arundel Castle was appreciated especially as it was within walking distance of Swan Cottage. Similarly, the town centre could be reached on foot - an important factor bearing in mind the problem of parking in the town centre. All in all, we had a quiet and relaxing time.We were looking forward immensely to being there and the peace and relaxation it promised and we were not disappointed.

About the location

Worthing 8 miles; Goodwood 8 miles; Chichester 10 miles.

Arundel sits just outside the South Downs National Park and with the River Arun winding through the town makes for a popular tourist destination when visiting Sussex. Combining one thousand years of history with independent shops, contemporary art galleries, restaurants, cafes, delightful drinking spots and great attractions, Arundel has a thriving events calendar. With leisure pursuits from walking across the South Downs to canoeing, boating or cycling, there is something for everyone when you visit Arundel. The town's long and varied history dates back to 1086 when it was mentioned in the Domesday Book and during the 14th century it became the seat for the Dukes of Norfolk. Arundel Castle is one of the longest inhabited country houses in England and is open to the public from April to October. Arundel Cathedral stands majestically over the town and is open every day. This beautiful building is well worth a visit but be ready for the steep climb up the hill and along cobbled streets. So much to see and do no matter what the weather or time of the year, Arundel is the perfect choice, now all you have to decide is "how long can I stay?"
