  • "We had a lovely stay in The Lodge."

It is a beautiful quiet spot, only a short drive from Loch Ness and other nearby attractions. Hosts were welcoming and provided everything needed to make it homely. The house is very spacious and well equipped. We would be happy to go back and visit again in future

  • "Staying at The Lodge was an absolute dream place for us as a family to spend a week in the highlands."

We would have loved to stay longer. It’s in such a beautiful spot over looking the river Beauly and the stunning munros and rolling hills! The place itself is incredibly spacious, all the rooms are huge and have great views. It was immaculately clean! And I mean immaculate!! The beds were huge (we lost each other in them!) and were fantastic to sleep in. All of us slept so well and so comfortably. Each room has its own bathroom with great showers and luxury towels were provided. There is also another downstairs wc. The kitchen is so generous in size and proportions. It is well equipped and we wanted for nothing. The property has a very cosy living room with some very lovely views and a fabulous log burner which we really appreciated the use of. The property also has a huge tv/cinema room. There is a great selection of books and games available too which we made good use of and which kept the kids entertained. There is also a laundry room with use of a washing machine and ample sized airers which we also appreciated. Warwick and Becky were very generous and kind hosts. So much attention to detail and thoughtfulness has gone into catering for their guests. On arrival, Becky welcomed us with a freshly baked loaf of bread which she had carefully listed all the ingredients for us. She showed us around the property and answered all our questions. There was also a beautiful vase of freshly cut flowers as a welcome. They had even left non bio washing powder for us to use which was super kind as our kids have allergies. They were super communicative and attentive to our needs and were always on hand should we need anything from them. They also were very generous over heating the house and made sure we were warm and comfortable which we really appreciated. The info pack on the property is super helpful and again speaks volumes for their care and desire to make your holiday special, problem free and memorable with lots of advice on what’s available locally to do and what restaurants to eat at. We loved the little touches like the gorgeous Scottish bathroom soaps and shampoos too. We were invited to make use of, by arrangement, their Scandinavian bbq hut suitable for all weathers and delightfully hand painted, by Becky and a co artist, with local wildlife murals and a beautiful starry night sky on the huts ceiling. We made use of this twice during our stay and it was absolutely awesome. We all loved it. It made for a magical evening. WiFi was great through almost all of the house. We really had such a special time staying here and I’ve written this long review (apologies) so that others considering booking know what an awesome place it is to stay at. It’s easy to find and a great base for exploring the highlands. We did SO much and enjoyed every minute. Its the best accommodation we’ve ever booked and we can’t recommend it highly enough. It was a dream place, dream location and a dream holiday. Thank you for everything Becky and Warwick!

BEAULY

Inverness 12 miles.

Lying on the north bank of the River Beauly, just 12 miles west of Inverness, the village of Beauly is situated at the very heart of the Highlands. An excellent location for touring, the village is within easy reach of Loch Ness, the ancient Caledonian pine forests of Glen Affric and Strathfarrar and the coast (sandy beaches 8 miles). The name Beauly comes from the French “beau lieu” or “beautiful place” and the village prides itself on being both scenic and well-kept, having won both Scotland and Britain in Bloom titles. One of Beauly's highlights is the ruined 13th Century priory, around which the village was built. Today the village is famous for its craft-based industries and offers an excellent selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. With some of the best scenery the Highlands has to offer just on the doorstep, Beauly makes an excellent holiday base!
