  • "8b Carrigriech is a well designed property with each bedroom having their own ensuite so you have your own privacy."

    The view is superb from each room in sunshine and a storm. There are fantastic white beaches such as Garry Beach, Huisinis Beach and many more. The Mangersta Stacks are impressive and so is the well known Callanish Stones which must be seen. Overall great property and great islands.

  • "This was our first visit to the Isle of Harris and 8b Carrigreich provided the perfect location to celebrate my wife’s special birthday with friends."

    The location is stunning with amazing views that constantly change with the weather. The house is designed to maximise the views and the execution is absolutely flawless. We all loved stay and would recommend 100%.

  • "Absolutely beautiful house, the views are just amazing."

    The house itself is stunning, everything it’s just so perfect, I wish it was my house! We were extremely lucky with the weather, and were really only held hostage by the highland midges a couple of times, which isn’t bad for August! The only thing I could suggest would be a hoover as I found myself sweeping up sand every day from the hallway, but other than that - 10/10. Thank you!

  • "The house was superb and fully met our expectations in terms of facilities and comfort."

    It was spotlessly clean. A extra large cooking pot would be a useful addition but otherwise the kitchen was fully stocked. The only other minor point was that the WiFi was a little slow at times, but this didn’t detract from our enjoyment.

  • "Possibly the best holiday property that we’ve stayed in in 40 years."

    Clever designs maximise the stunning views across the outer and inner Hebrides. The house has a great kitchen, comfy beds, efficient heating and lots of storage along with outdoor space, great recycling facilities and plenty of parking. Close enough to Tarbert with local shops, Deli and a couple of restaurants and ideally located for exploring Harris, Scalpay and local walks and Lochs.

  • "Lovely stay really enjoyed the house and the stunning views around been to Harris a few times and would definitely look at going back to 8b ."

    One thing to note the extractor fans above the cooker weren’t working and had to open the windows when cooking

    House is warm, cozy, clean and comfortable. A great deal of thought has clearly gone into the furnishings and kitchen etc. there was nothing missing. Loved it.

  • "Lovely holiday home to escape everything!"

    Great place to base yourself while on the island. Very close to ferry port which was ideal. House is very modern and high quality. Had everything we needed for a short stay. We throughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.

8B Carrigreich is a stunning, detached house sitting on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides.

Perched within mountains and overlooking a small lake, this remote property is perfect for families, friends and a pet looking for a tranquil and secluded retreat.

Step into a bright and airy living space, with floor to ceiling windows flooding the area with natural light and sunshine, to find a fully-equipped kitchen for you to whip up your meals in and a sitting area where you'll warm up by the woodburning stove during colder months and enjoy a hot beverage as you watch your favourite movie on the TV.

As the day grows darker, unwind with a relaxing shower then head to rest in one of three beautifully-presented bedrooms, all boasting stunning views.

In the lovely nearby village of Tarbert, you'll be able to tuck into a succulent meal at Pierhouse Cafe And Restaurant, then start your adventure at Isle of Harris Distillery for a tour of the whisky and gin production process and tastings, followed by a trip to Sea Harris Boat Tours where you'll sail past the highest sea cliffs in UK to visit the deserted island of St Kilda.

When the sun is shining, head to the breathtaking Seilbost beach for a relaxing day out, then make your way to Traigh Niosaboist for stunning views of the coast and be sure to check out Talla na Mara Gift Shop to pick up some souvenirs and trinkets to remember your trip by.

Take a scenic drive up to the beautiful capital of the island, Stornoway, and learn more about the history of the area at the Victorian-era Lews Castle, art-lovers can head to An Lanntair to find anything from art exhibitions to theatre and dance shows and why not end the day with some waterside, seafood dining at The Boatshed Restaurant?

TARBERT ISLE OF HARRIS

Stornoway 36 miles.

Tarbert is the main town of the Isle of Harris and is taken from the Gaelic word for ‘isthmus’ or ‘crossing point’ meaning that it joins south Harris to north Harris and the Isle of Lewis. It is known for being the ferry port for Harris and enjoys a stunning setting with dramatic mountains forming a picturesque backdrop to the town. It is home to a selection of shops including Harris Tweed and Knitwear and dining options include The Harris Hotel serving a selection of dishes using locally sourced ingredients, the Pierhouse Café and Restaurant and Island Bites. While you are here you can stock up on shopping essentials at AD Munro and John Morrison. Just outside Tarbert there are wild beach walks, a wealth of watersports and fishing, and a short drive away is the North Harris Eagle Observatory. The Tarbert area is home to a number of art galleries and workshops showcasing a diverse range of artwork including Hebridean Ceramics, the Hebridean Design Company and Clisham Arts and Crafts.
