The property

Middle Cottage is a delightful property in the charming hamlet of Ridge, tucked away in the unspolit Wiltshire countryside, yet just a short drive from the picturesque village of Tisbury (Featured in Best Places to Live, The Times) Recently renovated throughout, Middle Cottage is furnished with antiques and bespoke furniture thereby retaining its period charm and character. The well-equipped kitchen / dining room has a generous fridge-freezer, a quality electric oven (with induction hob), a Pod coffee machine, cafetiere, and an excellent selection of cookware and utensils.

There is also a charcoal BBQ for outside cooking. The light and spacious sitting room features a woodburning stove (as well as radiators!), an extremely comfortable pair of armchairs and a generous sofa.

There are games for guests to enjoy as well as a selection of books and a television. The utility room / cloakroom on the ground floor is a useful space and includes a washing machine, storage space and sink. Upstairs there are two peaceful and beautifully decorated bedrooms – one King, and one Twin.

The shared bathroom is newly appointed and includes a full height shower and a bath. Outside the enclosed rear lawn with garden furniture provides a lovely place to sit back and enjoy the beautiful views and calm surroundings.

The Charcoal BBQ is available for guests to use and there is off-road parking for 2 cars. Tisbury is a vibrant small town with a friendly community.

Local amenities include a wonderful coffee shop / cafe, a well-stocked deli, a locally renowned wine merchant, butcher/greengrocer, independent bookshop, boutique clothes and gift shops; as well as a post office, hardware store, Boots, dentist, Doctors surgery and a small Co-op.

The foodie scene is thriving with widely acclaimed local pubs including The Beckford Arms (a wonderful walk away), The Royal Oak, Swallowcliffe and The Compasses Inn, Lower Chicksgrove.

The cottage is just 8 mins drive to the newly opened and long awaited Teffont House, and 12mins drive to the magical restaurant at Pythouse Kitchen Garden.

Salisbury Cathedral, Bath, Frome, the Dorset Coast and Stourhead are all within easy reach. Located within the breathtaking Cranborne Chase National Landscape, it is a perfect spot for walkers and cyclists.

Tisbury is a delightful rural village settled into the beautiful countryside of the fantastic Cranborne Chase National Landscape, Wiltshire, resting beside the River Nadder and benefiting from a train station. The village offers a local shop for your essentials, as well as a selection of pubs where you can enjoy a tipple or a hearty meal in the sunshine. Other towns to visit include Shaftesbury where you will find shops, pubs, a museum, Avon Valley Nature Reserve, and Mompesson House, and Stourhead with its incredible lakeside views where you will find beautiful historic sites such as the Temple of Apollo, The Pantheon, and The Grotto. The Cranborne Chase National Landscape is an area strewn with stunning walks and incredible historic sites, including the famous Stone Henge, Old Wardour Castle, and Wilton House. There is plenty of wildlife to be explored close by, with a variety of National Trust and RSPB sites, including RSPB Garston Wood and the National Trust's Dinton Park and Philipps House.
