  • "We went for our 50th wedding anniversary with my brothers and duster and partners 7 of us."

The house is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. Lots of space to be together and also room to be alone if you wanted to. Everything you could need was provided. Only slight downside was the lack of a bathroom upstairs as we are all older and struggled having to go downstairs for the toilet in the night. Nevertheless we would ho back again.

  • "The kitchen tap does not work on cold and is very loose."

The hoover lightly hoovers ! We would have vacuumed round had it worked. We left better loo roll. 2nd TV - only worked on TV- no batteries for DVD player - no internet The towels are rubbish - take your own We loved it though !

  • "The house was lovely and it was warm, however the cleanliness was not up to the standard we have come to expect from Sykes properties."

The bedding smelt musty, there was hair in one of the plugs that we had to remove and we moved a sofa to retrieve something from underneath it and it had obviously not been swept for a long time. We were only there for the weekend but it would have been nice to at least have some milk and biscuits left for us on arrival - as we have had at every other Sykes property we have visited. Also we had to buy toilet rolls and hand cleanser, usually j cloths and tea towels are available as well. This did not stop us from having a lovely time at the property and it was a lovely size for the ten of us; the children loved the pirate tree house and the closeness to the beach.

  • "Stopped here previously in 2020 and came back because of the location ."

Proximity to the beach great views and walks . This time disappointed with the accommodation overall . Arrived during storm Amy October 25 and upon entering met with a wet dog smell . Rain had got in around the front door soaking the carpet . Several windows were broken and would not shut properly . The windows and conservatory were draughty and noisy during the storm . Skirting boards and the bottom of the door frames need a deep clean . The bedding / linen etc were clean but tired and had seen better days . The alterations since our last visit were obviously done on a limited budget we expected better. This property may be OK for dog lovers but as we are not dog people felt let down . Kitchen facilities good and we enjoyed our walks and the views . Needs money spending on the property and a few extra facilities

  • "The property is situated in a beautiful location and the space is fantastic."

We had a nice stay and the gardens are great for children and dogs. There were a few things that could improve the property and experience for future guests. The property is in need of redecorating as walls, skirting boards and floors are all very tired and need a clean. The cleanliness of the property was not great. I had to clean the surfaces before I used them in the kitchen, I moved the tea and coffee pots and it was very dirty, I took photos to show the grime under and on various surfaces, including small amounts of mould in the microwave. The bed sheet had a stain on in the bedroom that has the en-suite upstairs. The property is in need of a deep clean but I was disappointed with the state of the kitchen- on first glance it is tidy but it didn’t take long to see crumbs left and scum marks and surfaces where things have not been moved for months. Some things were not functioning. The downstairs bathroom that is en-suite - plug didn’t open- my Nana could not wash in that sink and had to use her walker to go into the utility sink- as the bathroom next to the front door (which was easier to use) had no hot water in the sink taps. She is 101 years old and this was not ideal, we rented this property as the en-suite was level access and easy for her. The blind on the landing upstairs did not work properly and was a nightmare to open and shut. The blinds are very unhelpful- lots and lots of light is let in- some are faulty and could do with being replaced. The doors and windows are all faulty in the conservatory and it was difficult to close them even with a harsh tug. Some things we noted that would be a better experience. There were no extension leads - as the plugs are limited in the property - this would have been beneficial but not necessary. There is no bin in the downstairs bedroom, this would be helpful. No bin bags could be found. We had to go out and buy some. We searched in all the obvious locations. It is a fantastic property, but I would not stay again unless it was given some TLC. All rooms had all the basics you need and the outdoor space was perfect.

  • "A fantastic property in a beautiful location."

Being able to walk to a virtually-private beach with shallow waters for swimming was perfect. Brilliantly placed for exploring walks on Anglesey, helped by the detailed OS maps in the house. Plenty of space for a large family group, with a well-equipped kitchen to cater for them all. Definitely a property we would recommend to others.

  • "The most amazing stay in the most beautiful house and area!"

The location is second to none. The house is so remote we barely saw anyone else the whole time we were there. There was someone staying in the attached property but as the back garden is private and the walls to the cottages are so think we wouldn’t have known at all. Sitting in the back garden, or conservatory, and watching the passing ships in the bay or the RAF jets from valley was our favourite pastimes. A lovely 5-10 minute walk down the lane (almost entirely flat) to the gorgeous beach meant that we hardly left the house the whole time we were there. Everything you need for a relaxing, beach holiday is right there. Every time we went we had the beach entirely to ourselves! Lovely walks from the beach along the coastal paths were fantastic to explore. The house is gorgeous, generous in size and having separate areas to give everyone space when required, as well as big communal areas to gather for times together, it was perfect. We loved the conservatory and mezzanine especially. The enclosed large rear garden was perfect for the dog to enjoy his time there too. Massive deep windows meant you can sit and read and enjoy the views. The house had everything we needed. Including one downstairs bedroom with en-suite walk in shower bathroom for those with limited mobility. We can’t wait to come back! Going straight to the top of our list for our favourite ever family holiday!
