Well situated, easy to find, plenty of parking, everything was clean and tidy and well thought out, thoroughly enjoyed our stay, excellent value for money , recommend the nearest 2 pubs for eating, the three horse shoes and Castle Eden inn

Glad you enjoyed the cottage and the pubs! Property Owner

  • "This property was clean, comfortable and well equipped."

Is within easy reach of the main A181, giving easy access to the wider area. I used this a base for my continuing walk around the coast of the UK. This time between Staithes and South Shields. I would recommend this property

Thank you for your feedback and good luck with the rest of your round Britain coastal walk! Property Owner

  • "The setting of the cottage is lovely and the views are great."

The cottage is extremely clean, however there are a few downsides. The bed was very small and somewhat uncomfortable and the sliding wardrobe doors didn’t open properly. When taking a shower the water went all over the floor as the channel in the middle was too narrow and you had to put the shower facing the wall rather than in the middle to try to avoid getting water everywhere. This meant the towels were soaking as had to try to mop the water up. The toilet seat was ill fitting and kept sliding, so ended up nipping legs. There were zero instructions left for the most complicated washing machine I’ve ever seen and to this day I don’t know if it was a washer/drier, it was a guessing game as to how to use it, and considering this property has underfloor heating there wasn’t a clothes airer so ended up having to lay clothes on the floor in an attempt to dry them. Not ideal at all and there was nowhere outside to dry clothes either. My parter tried to call the numbers but didn’t receive a response until a third attempt by which point I had given up with the washer and had to go to the launderette in another village. The oven had one shelf so it made it really difficult to cook things together as there simply wasn’t room. There were brand new, what appeared to be shelves in the drawer under the oven but these didn’t fit so were of no use. There was no flat frying pan, just a wok so trying to cook an omelette was a challenge. The property and the welcome could be so much better and the fact it has so few bookings speaks volumes really. Also Sunday only check ins seems really silly. We didn’t really feel we were wanted there. Such a shame.

Thank you for your feedback. The bed is a completely standard UK size double bed and the mattress is a brand new Simba medium firmness. The sliding wardrobe doors have been adjusted. The toilet seat has been tightened. The shower is designed from the outset as a wet room but we have now added a shower curtain too. The oven is a a standard UK single oven and we can add a flat frying pan. We can download washing machine instructions and add them to the welcome pack and we have added a folding clothes dryer which will hang on any door. Thank you again for the feedback. Property Owner

Lovely little cottage perfect for a single person or a couple. The. Ed was unfortunately not very comfy. I loved the touch of free eggs from the farm. Great views from the window.

Thanks for your feedback, Come back in Spring and see the daffodils which add to the views, Property Owner

  • "Cottage was very clean and comfortable."

We enjoyed our stay there. The only drawback was that the fridge/freezer didn't work. Luckily, we only had some bacon, milk, butter and sausages we brought with us that had to be thrown away. And as we didn't bring any frozen food with us because we intended to eat out so didn't need the freezer. The owners provided us with a stand alone fridge as soon as we told them so we were able to continue with our stay.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. A brand new integrated fridge freezer is now installed. Thank you for your feedback. Property Owner
