  • "We had a lovely time, staying at Rose Cottage."

It was perfectly situated for our purposes and was a quiet and relaxing place to return to in the evenings. The owners were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We hope to return next year.

  • "Lovely, friendly owners."

Beautiful area. Really comfy cottage. Could have done with some extra cutlery and crockery as we were lazy and used the dishwasher but otherwise everything we could needed was provided! Garden area not enclosed but no problem as our lab is an old boy , lovely watching and listening to the birds . 9/10 for a lovely relaxing holiday

In a lovely rural setting yet close to some main towns and locations. There was a small issue with our accommodation and this was sorted immediately. We hope to return as the weather was not too kind and there was much more to explore!

  • "We had a lovely week at Rose Cottage."

The cottage was larger than expected, clean, well equipped and in quiet surroundings. Ed and his partner were lovely and very helpful. Barnard Castle, Richmond and the Yorkshire Dales are all nearby. Great value for money!

  • "We found the cottage was very spacious and cosy."

There was information about local tourist attractions, and maps of the locality. We would be happy to stay here again. The only negative point was that we weren't able to connect to the Wi-Fi, which wasn't a huge problem to us.

  • "In terms of health and safetyl the lighting could be improved ."

Preparing food in a dimly lit area is not safe. The vathroom is also dimly lit. It is nice to be able to see your face as you wash it!!

  • "This is a compact and cosy cottage on a farm with a few caravans parked on site."

It's situated between Richmond and Barnard Castle. We found Barnard Castle extremely busy and impossible to park even with a blue badge. But we enjoyed a trip through Teesdale and a great day in Swaledale where the country views are lovely although again it was difficult to park in the villages. We loved the area when we were able to walk and found it no longer quite so suitable for us. I dare say this is a perfect base for walkers. The site is flat so we were able to stretch our legs through the campsite each evening. The cottage has comfortable seating and a lovely big shower as well as a large kitchen/finer where we cooked our meals but there are lots of recommendations of places to eat out if you prefer.

  • "Rose cottage is set in a beautiful location, on a very well kept caravan park, with a big field to take your four legged friends for an early morning run."

The owners are on site if you need anything, they have a little shop in case you have forgotten that bag of sugar or milk etc. Even home made doggy treats. Location is ideal for exploring Teesdale and Yorkshire national park. Comfortable furnishings, big kitchen, no stairs, everything on one level. Great place to stay.

Rose Cottage is very comfortable, in a quiet rural area with lovely views from the driveway of the complex. It is well positioned with Barnard Castle and the lovely town of Richmond a short drive away. Also the Yorkshire Moors and Dales not far away. Give it a try I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

  • "Rose Cottage was an ideal home for our holiday."

Accommodation was very good and in great condition. Couple of issues we raised with the owners were dealt with promptly and professionally. The park itself was quiet and calm even when kids were playing. A great relaxing holiday base and we would certainly consider returning again. Highly recommendable.

  • "A beautiful, peaceful setting for a home-from-home base for exploring County Durham and the Yorkshire Dales."

We were left to ourselves, but there was always someone on site for help at any time, and the limited number of caravans and cottages gave it more of a 'family' feeling. A really useful feature was the 2-acre field on-site for exercising the dog, providing space for children to play in, and a quiet bench under a willow to watch the sun set with a glass of wine and a book!

  • "Beautiful quiet countryside all around the site yet easy access to reach main roads to reach the areas attractions."

We visited Beamish, High Force and Low Force waterfalls along with a walk around some of the local towns but ran out of holiday time to cover half the things we wanted to do so a repeat visit will be a must.
