We booked the appartment as a surprise honeymoon for our son and new daughter in law. They had a lovely time. I dropped them off and the owner met us on arrival. She was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were excellent and the apartment was beautifully decorated and laid out. My wife and I are considering booking it for ourselves at a later date.

“Great apartment done to a high ...”

Great apartment done to a high standard in nice little town with all the shops, cafes that you would need. Three pubs in town one was closed. The nicest was the grey bull half a mile away. Everyone in town was very welcoming. There were nice walks to go on in nearby Wolsingham and a forests walks ten miles away. Plenty todo even in the snow the weeks stay went really quick.

Great location but only offf street parking .could have done with a few more kitchen accessories .Flowers and wine on arrived which was nice but a little milk and tea,coffee would have been nice

Very clean, well equipped apartment. Friendly welcome from the owner. Lovely touches of flowers and welcome bottle of wine! Loved the decor. Would certainly recommend this apartment.

A stone-built, former public house dating back to the 1800s, The Queens Apartments have been converted into three stunning, self-catering apartments. These three tastefully-appointed apartments are ideally situated in the centre of the bustling village of Stanhope in Weardale. Exuding luxury throughout, each apartment has been individually styled to provide all the comforts you could possibly want from your Durham holiday. All have contemporary kitchens with granite worktops and high-gloss units, the beautifully-fitted bathrooms twinkle temptingly and the living areas all have sumptuous sofas to melt into after a delicious home-cooked meal. After a long day out walking or cycling, your lavishly furnished bedrooms await you with pillow soft beds, fresh linen and fluffy throws. The penthouse apartment has its own private balcony whilst all guests share a rear patio with furniture and a beautiful arched passageway. Wonderful walks can be enjoyed from these apartments, with the Weardale Way passing through the town, or why not take a wander along the high street to the stepping stones and cross the River Wear, from there a rather challenging incline will take you to the surrounding moorland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the second largest in England and Wales, boasting great scenery and wildlife? A short drive will take you to Barnard Castle, Durham, Corbridge, The Bowes Museum, High Force and Rokeby Hall, all easily reached for a day’s outing. STANHOPE

Durham 22 miles.

The ancient market town of Stanhope lies in the beautiful Wear Valley in the heart of superb walking country. Described as the "Capital of Weardale", it occupies a sheltered position on the north side of the Wear at the confluence of the river and the Stanhope burn. The town is home to a delightful high street, offering a wonderful selection of pubs, specialist food stores, coffee shops, art galleries, a heated outdoor swimming pool and pleasant riverside walks, plus the town is on the C2C cycle route. Beautiful Blanchland, the "perfect village", lies just 10 miles away. The city of Durham is just 22 miles away and is a World Heritage Site boasting a magnificent cathedral and castle, plus Hadrian's Wall is within easy touring distance. Close by are Hamsterley Forest, Killhope Lead Mining Museum and Barnard Castle - a short picturesque drive away. Further afield is the award winning Beamish Living Museum, along with the Metro Centre housing 300 shops and a 12-screen cinema, plus the Lake District National Park is 43 miles away.
