"Washing machine did not work: broken screw on door hinge."
Difficult to understand heating, when arrived all heating switched off at the individual wall heater’s wall plugs? No operational heater in bathroom? Did not work out how to use ornamental “log fire”. So our arrival did not feel welcome.

The loose screw in the washing machine most likely caused due to the often use of the washing machine. We have now tightened the screw, and we will add it to our check list.
As the cottage is a holiday letting, we turn the heating off to save energy and try to reduce the carbon emission into the environment. However, there is an on/off button on the radiators to turn them on/off.
We will now, and as required, turn the heating on before a new person enter the cottage.
The switch for the bathroom towel rack heater is placed in the back bedroom. We will put a label beside the towel rack to let people know.
There is an operating instruction in the handbook with detailed instruction on how to use the environmentally friendly fireplace.
I am very sorry and apologise for the for the lack of heating and the other points you raised, and I am confident that you will have a different experience next time in our cottage.

"We enjoyed our five night stay at the end of September."
The property was bright, warm, spacious & well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped especially with crockery and cutlery which meant the dishwasher could be filled properly over a couple of days. The lounge was a good size & a comfy L-shaped settee big enough for two people to stretch out & relax after a day's walk. We did not use the eco burner as we had the heatwave during our stay. . The main bedroom was large with views over the village green. Second bedroom was good size as well. Bathroom & toilet combined was compact but ok, with a good shower.The sink was small with no shelves for toiletries but not a big issue.
The village shop is combined with the Post Office & was surprising well stocked with basics if needed. The green had plenty of seats & was nice sit for a hour or so & enjoy the sunshine. Will be back.

"Nicely decorated modern property, friendly village the people we met were all very nice."
Parking nearby was a bit of a nightmare, I expect it's not so bad out of the school holidays, but nice to be in the village centre. Not very clean especially the floors and spending first few hours of your holiday cleaning is not fun. Could not find any airer for washing, handle falling off back bedroom door constantly was in previous reviews so not sure why not fixed, and lights also not working in back bedroom- we managed with landing light. Need to leave some instructions for guests about where main bin is and which belongs to the property as it wasn't clear. Thick curtains rather than just blinds might help with the road noise. Nice walks nearby and cycle centre cafe was fab, but we were driving a long way to get to things to do with a younger child. I expect a good location if you just want to walk and cycle in the north Dales. Wouldn't stay again unfortunately due to location not being right for us and the cleanliness which is a deal breaker for us.

"Lovely large cottage."
The kitchen door doesn't close properly and I noted that previously someone had made a comment about this. Could also do with a rail going down steep steps to kitchen. No wardrobes or hangers unfortunately. From health and safety aspect a rope to go up the stairs I thought was dangerous. We did enjoy our stay very much though.

"Well equipped kitchen."
Bathroom and kitchen floors not very clean. We were generally comfortable but found the sofa difficult to sit on for long as it offered little support. I was concerned that the doorway through to the kitchen was still not repaired having read previous feedback from guests. Also the door handle of the single bedroom fell off and my husband struggled to repair it. On the whole we liked the cottage and enjoyed being in Reeth. We love Swaledale and it was a great location from which to explore the area.
Thank you so much for your valued feedback . We have had a joiner in to refit the kitchen door ,and put up a hard bannister rail going down the stairs . Our joiner has also checked the door handle to make sure it’s safe .. We encourage all feedback so we can make guests stay better in the future . We are pleased you enjoyed our cottage and reeth and hope to see you back in the future

"Must get the kitchen door fixed."
It could easily fall off and seriously hurt someone. Corkscrew would be good Also nice if whoever popped in with wine had turned heating on.

"The cottage was amazing, large, bright and airy."
Well equipped kitchen with all the mod cons. I don’t cook on my holiday so can’t tell you what they were like to use but, I was well impressed. Locals are very friendly and the food at the kings arms was superb. Our only negative was that the handle on the kitchen door was broken and because we had our dog with us, we had to put our suitcase in front to stop him escaping. That said, we would like to thank the owners for sharing this beautiful property with us and we hope to be back in the spring.

"Very nice cottage finished to a good standard."
Bed was so comfortable with great quality bedding and towels. Well equipped kitchen.
Only negative was the eco burner. Didn’t bother with it as not cosy at all, even an electric woodburner that just glowed would be an improvement.
Would definitely recommend the property though.

"Nice clean property with a huge comfy bed and sofa."
The location was perfect for exploring the dales, fantastic walking from the doorstep and good local amenities. Would stay again.
Couple of suggestions (not criticisms), it could be made clearer that the stove runs on eco fuel and is not a wood burner so is more for ambiance than heat, some hand soap in the bathroom and larger towels would make it feel a little more luxurious, and a blind in the kitchen would be nice.
Otherwise a very comfortable and relaxing stay, thank you

"Wonderful week with the added bonus of superb weather."
The property was well equipped and comfortable.
These are only suggestions but the following may be worth considering:
. A hand rail between the lounge/kitchen steps & the bedroom/landing steps.
. The rope along the staircase looks nice but they would benefit from a more stable bannister.
. The door between the lounge/kitchen needs rehinging otherwise the lovely flooring is going to get ruined.
. The cupboard near the lounge window could be more useful if the shelves were removed ie storage for the vacuum cleaner.
. No instructions for the rubbish or bins.
Our dog is old, as are we, so all the steps outside & inside the property were hard going especially after a day's walking. This isn't a criticism but just be aware.
However, we enjoyed our stay very much. The property has good facilities & is in a great location. You can park outside to unpack/pack the car and then park on the village green opposite. The welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch. Thank you.

We would definitely recommend and would love to return again in the not too distant future. Feedback: It would be very useful to have another front door key as if you both need to go out separately you have to leave the door unlocked for safety reasons as you can not leave the other person in the house with the door locked and no means of escape in an emergency. "Once again Sykes has delivered."
A lovely little cottage, very clean and everything in good order and comfortable. The only criticism I have is that the rope going upstairs is not very useful. A handrail would be a great improvement, also a rail going down the steps into the kitchen would make it safer for all ages. Also there is plenty of room in the bigger bedroom for a small wardrobe or at least a hanging rail so there is a place to hang clothes. Apart from those points it was a great place for a few days in Yorkshire.

"Almost everything was perfect about the facilities and the location was excellent."
Very clean and comfortable - newly fitted out in every respect. Short walk to shop and pubs, easy access to local footpaths. Our only suggestion is some small additions to household stocks: salt and pepper, cooking oil, a washable chopping board for fruit and veg. Norhing else comes to mind.

"An excellent location in Reeth, and the bottle of wine was a pleasant surprise."
The lounge was a little sparse but the flooring very suitable for dogs. Storage is obviously an issue as we shared our evenings with the vacuum cleaner sat in the lounge! Apart from a dirty sponge in the sink when we arrived, the cottage was lovely and clean, and we found the bed very comfortable and clean. Our only concerns would be the rope handrail up the stairs,which are very steep for less able people. Whilst the rope looks nice, it gives no support, and I imagine people we then put their hands on the wall? Also, one toilet roll was rather stingy, and no where to hang clothes in the bedrooms. Other than these minor criticisms which we only mention in a constructive way, we enjoyed our stay ,and wish them well.

"A lovely cottage in a beautiful position in the village."
Everything we needed was provided and all appliances seemed brand new. The sofa was really comfortable and the cottage itself stayed cool in the hot weather, making it a really nice place to come back to after a day out exploring.
Only thing I would say is that the stairs between the lounge and the kitchen may benefit from a rail of some sort, just to help people navigate them a bit more easily.
