We really didn't need to take anything apart from clothes and food with us as the cottage was equipped with everything you could possibly need and want, and have never stayed anywhere before where this was the case.Lots of good walking with outstanding scenery and the most beautiful sunrise to greet you in the morningThe boot/ come utility room was great for wet and muddy boots and would be a must for our four legged friends. Plenty of towels plenty of hot water and a huge roaring fire for those chilly nights, what more could one need. I only wish we could have stayed longer but we shall return again and enjoy this gem of a cottage and would recommend to anyone needing a large place to stay.

About the location

LOW ROW

Reeth 3 miles; Hawes 13 miles.

A hillside scattering of traditional farms and cottages make up the pretty village of Low Row situated to the north of the River Swale. A delightful area with magnificent countryside and stunning views of the valley and surrounding fells. The village of Reeth just a short drive away dates back to Saxon times and became of sufficient size and importance to be mentioned in the Domesday Book. Later it became a centre for hand-knitting and local lead mining. Its eighteenth-century houses and hotel clustered around the triangular village green make it one of the very popular Dales villages. Askrigg better known to millions as Darrowby in TV's James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small" is just a short drive away as well as Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force (England's highest single drop waterfall at 99ft).
