"Hivewood cottage is a delightfully renovated, tastefully decorated stone cottage, situated conveniently close to the Main Street and the park."

It is spotlessly clean, comfortable and has all the home comforts you may need for your break. It also benefits from off road car parking right outside your door. Being elderly, we found the stairs challenging, but this did not detract from our stay. I would certainly recommend Hivewood cottage to anyone who wished to stay in the area.

"Very well renovated & well equipped & clean."

Good internet. Good directions & cottage well placed for ' The Village's with it's plentiful, pubs, cafes & restaurants. Great place for a short break & plenty of dog walks nearby. Took a while to get used to rooms being on 3 floors & it would have been handier to have 2 keys as it was inevitably in the door you didn't want to go out! Just a couple of other things, the 2 sets of stone stairs were very long & deep & I feel should have been mentioned in the details for people with mobility issues - maybe handrails on both sides would help. Also we like a hard bed but this one was very hard indeed, maybe a mattress topper could help. All together though it was very good value & we would probably stay again. Sue

"We really enjoyed our stay at Hivewood cottage."

The location was great close to restaurants and pubs. It was good having a parking space outside the property. The cottage was really clean and tidy and tastefully decorated. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. (On preference the mattress was a bit too hard for my liking it needed a memory foam topper). It also would have been nice to have outside seating as shone in the photo. Which is why I didn’t give five stars for comfort and facilities. But it didn’t spoil our stay and we would definitely book again.

Thank you for kind words in your feedback it is greatly appreciated. The outside seating has been replaced as the old ones unfortunately went faulty. We look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
