  • "The cottage was lovely."

As we had two small children with us, there was no reading light power in the second bedroom on the left. No plug was found apart from near the door. An extension cable would be helpful for that room. Apart from that the cottage was ideal for our needs. Fountains Abbey at night and Harlow Carr. We will certainly use Hope House again. A very enjoyable few days.

  • "Hope House - A Perfect Yorkshire Retreat 5 stars Hope House is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of the stunning Yorkshire countryside."

As a couple with a small Yorkshire Terrier, we were seeking a peaceful retreat, and Hope House exceeded all expectations. The cottage itself is charming and beautifully maintained. The spacious kitchen/diner was perfect for preparing meals, while the cozy sitting room with its woodburning stove created the ideal ambiance for relaxing evenings. Upstairs, the bedrooms were comfortable and stylish, and the bathrooms were luxurious. We loved exploring the surrounding area. The walks through the Dales were breathtaking, and the nearby village of Kirkby Malzeard offered everything we needed. The Queens Head pub was a particular highlight. Hope House is the perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. We can't wait to return! Highly recommend for couples seeking a tranquil getaway.

  • "A lovely cottage with a nice mix of traditional and modern interior."

A peaceful place to relax and enjoy. My only slight niggle was trying to get into the car park area as we were in a van and it was hard to get in and turn it around. The gardens were lovely but could not let dog wander as fearful of escaping to goats. Enjoyed our time there and visiting Ripon.

Good size rooms and quality bathrooms. Cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything you need. Although not far to village it isn't a flat walk but has a friendly pub and shops including great fish and chips.

The property owners were lovely & helped with a few questions we had. Hope House was a great property too, as described (even nicer than the listing looked). We had a brilliant time over New Year & they even allowed for a later checkout on New Year's Day (which was greatly appreciated). Everyone loved their stay - very much value for money!

Great house to spend time with the family. Only slight problem….no firelighters or dishwasher tablets (which there should have been) so we had to purchase our own.

  • "Boiler problem -we appreciated the immediate response & plumber coming out (tho problem not fully resolved yet)."

Bathrooms splendid & always plenty of hot water. Well equipped kitchen. When we arrived the recycling boxes were full and in a muddle. We sorted, but sorry then forgot the collection day. Info about nearest bottle bank would be useful in the instruction file. Most of the beds were great, but the single mattress in the far end bedroom is past it’s use by date - I could feel every spring! Many apologies for dropping the portmeirion salad bowl

Thank you for your feedback which is very much appreciated. Apologies that we were unable to sort the intermittent whistling noise that was coming from the boiler room during your stay despite Justin our boiler man arriving at the property within 2 hours of your call. It was a bit of a mystery as he could not hear the whistling on arrival so could only guess a potential cause. Further investigation has resolved the issue which was not the boiler but an error in a valve setting on the new pressurised water tank. This was speedily fixed by Steve our plumber shortly after you left the property so all is now working smoothly again. Apologies also that you did not find the beds comfortable in the far end bedroom, you will be pleased to hear that following your feedback, both of these mattresses have been replaced with brand new ones. Details of the recycling collection days can be found in our information booklet at the property and we have now added location details of the centre in Ripon in response to your suggestion. Thank you again for taking the time to provide feedback. We greatly value all comments as they help us to identify issues so that they can be resolved as quickly as possible. Property Owner

Very spacious and handled a party of seven with no problem. Big dining room table was good as there were a few board gamers with us and plenty of places to go in under twenty minutes such as fountains abbey, brimham rocks, hack fall, ripon and the Himalayan sculpture park. The local village has a shop, pub and chippy what else do you need!
