  • "Excellent, home from home."

We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean. Beds comfortable, in fact there was nothing we didn’t like, although a small nest of tables would have been handy, but that’s something that the owners could think about. Other than that, Perfect!!!. We look forward to returning soon.

Thank you for the lovely feedback and we look forward to you visiting again. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was extremely clean and well presented to the highest standard."

It is in a perfect location from the castle and the centre of Middleham and for walking and visiting the surrounding area. I would highly recommend it.

  • "Excellent accommodation in great surroundings."

Absolutely everything was catered for and the fixtures and fittings in the cottage were of the highest quality. Comfortable beds ensured a good nights sleep. The location itself was an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. I should mention that a walk to the nearest pub might be a bit challenging for anyone with mobility problems because of the hilly terrain. I would recommend this property highly.

Thank you for the positive feedback and the kind words . We like to ensure our customers have an enjoyable stay in a home from home environment whilst seeing what the Yorkshire Dales has to offer . Ann Property Owner

  • "The only slight fault I had is that the 2 couches were in of support boards as when you sat down it was the springs were so weak it made it a bit uncomfortable and difficult to get up."

Otherwise a brilliant property. We would definitely recommend it and a return visit is on the cards.

  • "We could not get the Induction hob to work on more than the smallest position."

Reading through the guest book, others had the same problem, but the owner insisted it was OK. Seating in lounge gave us both back ache, but that may have been more down to our age (both in our 80's). Please ask the owner to lower the position of the television, fairly narrow room and large television, like being in the pits. Generally the property was very good, hence the 4 stars.

  • "In our experience this cottage had very comfortable seating and beds and apparently had quality kitchen appliances and technology."

Would be helpful to adjust the listing to say that a washer-dryer is provided, not just a washing machine - that's useful for people to know. Just a few minor negatives - the shower in the main bathroom tended to leak onto the bathroom floor. The toilet was also rather high for people with short legs. But it was well-cleaned throughout and provided a peaceful and recuperative location for a holiday.

  • "Spring Cottage was in a great location for a base to visit our favourite places in the Yorkshire Dales and was on a lovely quiet street."

The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We are already planning to return next year.

  • "The cottage was very clean, spacious and comfortable."

It is close to many places of our favourite villages in the Yorkshire Dales. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very good and limited what we could do. We would possibly look at booking again for next year.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed the property and location, we had an excellent time."

The property is well appointed and it is only a short walk to the middle of the village. An absolute gem . the only problem we had was the hob needs to be sorted only 1 ring was working. Would certainly stay again

Hi thank you for your kind feedback we are glad you enjoyed the bungalow . The hob is fully working the Pans have to sit over the hob rings the pan used has to cover the ring . I have since ordered a larger pan to fit the larger ring . Thank you again and we hope you stay again x Property Owner

  • "As always, weather does have an impact on any holiday and we were very fortunate."

That aside, the bungalow was absolutely perfect for our needs. Of course we had no need for heating, but there was always enough hot water for showers and washing up. We were extremely happy with the property, it’s quiet environment and walking distance to the Black Bull pub that we ate at most evenings. Thanks very much John

About the location

MIDDLEHAM

Leyburn 2.5 miles; Richmond 12 miles.

The attractive Wensleydale town of Middleham is renowned for its history and race horses. Much of the history is bound up with its Norman castle, which dates from 1190 and has a castle keep second in size only to the Tower of London. The horses are a great sight as they make their way to the gallops every morning. The pretty market square is partially cobbled and offers a range of shops, pubs and places to eat. The bustling market town of Leyburn is just a short drive away offering a variety of great shops and pubs, or why not take some time to explore The Forbidden Corner, a unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and surprises set amidst 4 acres of grounds, providing a fun day out for all the family? All in all a superb base for exploring Wensleydale and all within easy driving distance of York, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and Heritage Coast.
