  • "The house is in a great position by the canal in a quiet cul de sac and situated perfectly for a walk into town across the river and through the cathedral grounds."

It is comfortable and warm and had pretty much everything we needed plus a bottle of wine and a couple of bottles of beer on arrival. If I had to moan about anything it would be the yard is shared with 2/3 properties and isn’t very private and there’s no gate so letting the dog out isn’t possible but walking him out is really easy as there’s the canal path opposite. A wooden spoon would be advantageous for the morning porridge. The back door looked like it had been broken into with a jemmy and kicked open so the lock was a bit dodgy but it did lock and unlock. There’s also scaffolding surrounding the house next door with a fastening bolt that sticks out and hurts when you walk into it so be careful of that. That aside we had a lovely stay here and really enjoyed Ripon we would definitely stay here again.

Hi Glad you enjoyed your stay . The scaffolding is gone now. We will get some wood spatulas and spoons. The back door is in the process of being changed but is secure Kind Regards Dave Property Owner

  • "Amazingly clean, well equipped, but could have done with a few kitchen extras: wooden spoon, small roasting dish & casserole dish."

Also instruction on heating, which I found out via tik tok video! However, that aside it was brilliant & we've booked for next year

Hi Jennifer glad you enjoyed your stay We have taken note of cooking equipment and will update Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful holiday at 'Through the looking glass' a well decorated house with an Alice in wonderland theme which was very well planned and thought out."

The tunnel in the basement was amazing. The house was quiet, well equipped, clean, warm, comfortable with lots of hot water. The view of the canal was lovely with the Willow tree and spring flowers outside the front door. The welcome basket was an extra treat which we all enjoyed . We had an extremely relaxing stay and would definitely return.

Thank you for your lovely comments and leaving Canal Road clean and tidy very much appreciated enjoy Easter David and Sue Property Owner
