The property

Whether you are looking for a quiet retreat and quality family time, or a full-on action-packed break, a stay at Gaer Hall offers it all.

Gaer Hall is an impressive detached holiday home resting in the charming village of Guilsfield, Powys.

Full of character and space to spare, this grand retreat stretches across three floors, offering flexible sleeping arrangements, a private hot tub and plenty of room for everyone to relax.

But if some of the group are looking for an adrenaline rush, then stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, wild swimming, and pickleball are all available locally.

For the really fearless, Zip World and Bounce Below are about an hour and a half drive away.

Gaer Hall is perfect for families.

It promises a memorable escape near the Welsh border, a place where historic charm meets countryside calm.

Step through the door and you’ll find a spacious kitchen/diner that’s ready for any culinary challenge, whether you’re cooking on the AGA or rustling something up on the electric oven and hob.

With a microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and all the essentials, it’s built for big breakfasts and long, chatty dinners.

A utility room keeps things practical, while the large living/dining room sets the scene for evenings in, think laughter around the table or fireside chats beside the woodburning stove and TV.

On the first floor, you'll enter a magnificent 40 ft long Library with comfy sofas and chairs, ideal for sitting quietly, listening to music or playing board games.

It also has a large inglenook fireplace with a log burner and a TV.

Across its seven bedrooms and the sofa bed in the library, Gaer Hall can comfortably sleep a crowd.

Each room has its own personality, with a mix of doubles, twins, and family setups to suit every group.

You’ll even find a couple of en-suites, one boasting a charming roll-top bath, perfect for a quiet soak after a day exploring.

Step outside and the private patio beckons, the ideal spot for a barbecue or evening drinks in the fresh air.

Once the sun dips, sink into the hot tub and watch the stars emerge over the rolling hills.

The village is centred around the Church and a Conservation area and has two pubs with restaurants within walking distance of the hall.

The village of Guilsfield itself offers a traditional pub and a handy local shop within walking distance, while Welshpool is easily reached by car for canal walks, heritage attractions and cafés.

Those in search of a foodie experience and a large number of independent shops need look no further than Shrewsbury, 30 or so miles away, recently voted one of the best city experiences in the UK.

It doesn't matter if you're looking for fine dining or Michelin stars, or keen to sample the world's food in the award-winning indoor market, Shrewsbury is the place to visit.

Blending comfort, history and rural charm, Gaer Hall is the kind of place where great company, good food and lasting memories come naturally.
