This abode is perfect for families or friends seeking a countryside retreat, featuring en-suite bedrooms, an open-plan design and is also near the Lake District National Park.

Hear the gravel crunch beneath your feet after parking the car, as you make your way to the charming stone exterior of this cottage.

Unlock the door and step into the spacious and welcoming open-plan space.

To the left is a stylish kitchen boasting grey fixtures and with accent lighting reflecting onto the polished wooden flooring.

Craft a delightful meal with the halogen hob and electric oven, and crack out your favourite chilled beverage you have stored in the fridge/freezer.

Gather around the rustic and chic dining table as you tuck into your supper and walk through the adventures to come.

Pop the plates in the dishwasher, then sink into the armchair or plush sofa in the sitting area, then settle on a movie for entertainment for the evening.

Ascend the carpeted stairs and take in the views of the countryside on the way up, before picking between two homely bedrooms to settle in.

There is a double bedroom with a TV for late-night viewing, or a twin bedroom filled with natural light from the Velux window.

Both bedrooms have contemporary en-suite shower rooms, with light-up mirrors and gold finishes, adding a touch of indulgence to your morning routine.

Being located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park means there is plenty in the surrounding area to explore with your four-legged friend.

Visit one of the many waterfalls nearby, snap a picture of Scaleber Force Waterfall, spot the leaping salmon in Stainforth Force, or pack your gear for a spot of paddling.

Families will enjoy a trip to Thornton Hall Country Park, with animal encounters, quad bikes, and events such as Monster Trucks shows.

Uncover the history in Dales Countryside Museum, with exhibits on rural life such as farming, mining and knitting, then tuck into some cheese before buying.

And if you crave more natural beauty, the Lake District National Park is reachable with walking and cycling routes, as well as watersports.

Henside Cottage is a delightful base for exploring the beauty of North Yorkshire.

SETTLE

Malham 6 miles; Skipton 17 miles; Kendal 25 miles.

The bustling market town of Settle lies at the south west rim of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, nestled beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain - a region of scars, cliffs, caves and potholes - amongst some of the most picturesque scenery in North Yorkshire. Tuesday is market day in Settle, when the square is filled with stalls offering a wide variety of crafts and goods. The market place is surrounded by local businesses, the centre being dominated by The Shambles, an historic three storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall. There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs and a public swimming pool. The Victoria Hall has entertainment and other activities such as folk nights throughout the year. The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. Natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the nearby Dales towns of Skipton and Malham. Settle is in the midst of excellent walking country and is a good base for touring the Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland.
