Shunter's Nook is a lovely pet-friendly property in the village of Colwich, Staffordshire, nestled in the heart of a conservation area.

Continue through to the sitting room, where there is a modular sofa which a family can cosy up on or if they prefer, they can reconfigure to sofa and 2 chairs or double chaise where a couple can enjoy putting their feet up in front of the log burner effect fire, and watch the Smart TV, or DVDs of their choice, this room is a chilled setting for unwinding after a day of exploration.

Outside, the enclosed courtyard invites you to enjoy alfresco moments with its lovely views stretching out towards the surrounding countryside, providing a peaceful place to enjoy your morning coffee.

The view of the canal is a standout feature, perfect for scenic strolls or peaceful moments by the water, while the river Trent also offers picturesque walking opportunities close by.

As the property is a railway cottage, unsurprisingly there is a railway line nearby, however, if you wish to use railways for day trips and outings, a short trip to Rugeley Trent Valley would allow you to explore the wider area with ease.

When it is time to rest, upstairs you’ll find a king-size bedroom, which can be arranged as a twin on request for convenience, and a double bedroom, both designed for a fine place of privacy.

The bathroom, featuring a bath with a shower over, is on hand for those busy mornings getting ready.

When you want to venture out, in Stafford, you can explore the historic Stafford Castle with its panoramic views, wander through the beautifully landscaped Victoria Park alongside the River Sow, or visit the Ancient High House, one of the largest remaining Tudor townhouses in England.

Head to Dudley to discover the fascinating Black Country Living Museum with its immersive industrial-era streets, meet exotic animals and marvel at the medieval fortress at Dudley Zoo and Castle, or enjoy a peaceful boat trip through the Dudley Canal and limestone caverns.

In Stoke-on-Trent, delve into the world of ceramics at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, stroll through the stunning Trentham Gardens and encounter the monkeys at Trentham Monkey Forest, or visit the World of Wedgwood for a mix of heritage, craftsmanship and interactive experiences.

Colwich is a civil parish and village in Staffordshire, England. It is situated off the A51 road, about 3 miles (5 km) north-west of Rugeley and 7 miles (11 km) south-east of Stafford. It lies principally on the north-east bank of the river Trent, near Wolseley Bridge and just north of Cannock Chase. The parish comprises about 2,862 hectares of land in the villages and hamlets of Colwich, Great Haywood, Little Haywood, Moreton, Bishton and Wolseley Bridge. Colwich is a welcoming Staffordshire village, surrounded by gentle countryside and close to the woodlands of Cannock Chase AONB.
