Boasting a toasty woodburning stove, enclosed garden, and a peaceful setting, this welcoming retreat offers a delightful base for families or small groups seeking a relaxing Cornish escape. Set in wonderful gardens in a pretty rural area between St Agnes and Perranporth, the approach to Blowing House Cottage takes you through lawn-large gardens that frame the property in greenery and calm.

After arriving and parking on the private driveway, the cottage’s bright exterior and neatly kept front lawn offer a warm first impression.

Closed gates enclose the front garden, creating a safe haven for four-legged companions and a sense of privacy from the moment you arrive.

Step through the porch and into the kitchen, where rustic charm meets practicality.

Here, you can prepare hearty breakfasts or evening meals using the range cooker, with the scent of toast and freshly brewed coffee filling the air as sunlight filters through the window.

The kitchen leads naturally into the living/dining room, where a rustic stone wall frames the woodburning stove.

Its gentle warmth and flickering glow invite you to settle in—whether you're curled up with a book, sharing stories around the table, or enjoying a quiet moment as the flames dance.

Just off this space, the conservatory beckons with its comfortable sofas and tranquil garden views.

It’s a lovely spot to ease into the day with a warm drink, or to unwind in the afternoon light as birds flit across the lawn.

The bedrooms are thoughtfully arranged to suit a variety of guests.

A spacious super-king-size room with a TV looks out onto the rear garden, offering a peaceful retreat at the end of the day.

The double room also features a TV, while the twin room, ideal for younger guests or flexible sleeping arrangements, overlooks the enclosed front garden, where the morning light filters through and pets can safely roam.

The ground-floor bathroom provides a tranquil space to unwind, with a deep bath perfect for soaking tired legs after a day of coastal adventures.

Whether you’ve wandered the nearby St Agnes Heritage Coast or explored the golden sands of Perranporth, this is the place to let the day melt away.

Step through the conservatory into the rear garden, a generous lawned space where the barbecue awaits and outdoor furniture invites you to dine alfresco.

As the charcoals heat up and laughter fills the air, you’ll find yourself immersed in the fresh Cornish breeze and the gentle rhythm of countryside life.

When you're ready to venture out, the nearby village shop and pub are just a short drive away, perfect for stocking up on essentials or enjoying a local pint.

For days out, head to the Eden Project, where you can wander through tropical biomes, discover interactive exhibits and enjoy seasonal events that bring nature to life.

Alternatively, explore the historic charm of Truro, with its striking cathedral, boutique shops and riverside walks that meander through the city’s heart.

For coastal adventures, Newquay offers golden beaches, surf schools and the Blue Reef Aquarium, where marine life dazzles visitors of all ages.

Blowing House Cottage promises a relaxed and memorable stay in one of Cornwall’s most scenic corners.

PERRANPORTH

Newquay 9 miles; Truro 9.5 miles.

Perranporth, a beautiful Cornish coastal town, lies in the heart of Poldark Country, the setting for the novels of Winston Graham who lived in Perranporth in the 1930s. Perranporth offers plenty of traditional pubs and shops, plus a classic bucket-and-spade beach that is lifeguarded in summer, overlooked by craggy rocks and a wonderful coastal path. Once known as the source of the finest tin, the community still retains reminders of the rich heritage with abandoned pump houses, mine shafts and workers’ cottages. The local Blue Hills Museum and Perranzabuloe Folk Museum are both well worth a visit to understand the fascinating history of this coastal area. Further afield are the miles of sandy beaches at Crantock and Holywell Bay, and the breathtaking coastal walks around St Agnes, much of it owned by the National Trust. A perfect holiday base in Cornwall, with an abundance of activities to suit everyone.
