The property

Butterslade offers a peaceful farm escape in Pilton near Port Eynon, giving two guests a quiet base surrounded by rolling fields and big skies.

It’s the sort of place where you can switch off properly, breathe a bit deeper and enjoy a slower pace without feeling cut off from the good stuff the Gower has to offer.

Step inside and you’ll find everything arranged on one level, keeping life simple.

The open-plan living space is set up for proper downtime: the kitchen has what you need to put together a hearty meal, the dining table is spot-on for lazy breakfasts, and the woodburning stove steals the show when the evening cools down.

The twin bedroom is light and comfortable, making it easy to recharge after a day out, while the sleek shower room adds a touch of everyday convenience.

Step outside and you’re greeted by the sort of countryside people wax lyrical about, green fields, quiet lanes and walking routes that weave straight from the door.

The Gower Peninsula is right on the doorstep, and it’s every bit as impressive as its reputation suggests.

Think dramatic headlands, hidden coves and long stretches of sandy beach where you can wander for ages without seeing many people.

You’ve got good options close by, too.

A traditional pub sits within walking distance, making it an easy choice for an evening meal or a pint after a long walk, while essentials can be picked up in the nearby village.

Port Eynon is easily reached by car and brings classic seaside charm with its beach, rock pools and coastal paths.

If you fancy a day with a bit more bustle, Swansea isn’t far and offers museums, shops, restaurants and a lively waterfront.

For walkers, beach-seekers and anyone craving a slice of rural calm, Butterslade hits the mark.

It’s a simple, welcoming base in a landscape that does most of the heavy lifting, a great spot for a break that actually feels like a break.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.
