The property

Ystwyth Cottage is a pleasant cottage resting in Dolfor, in the hills South of Newtown, Powys, surrounded by beautiful rural scenery and enjoying non-enclosed gardens with an orchard, plenty of off-road parking, and a generous open-plan living space centred around an automated wood pellet boiler.

Step inside and you are greeted by a spacious ground floor where the kitchen, dining area, and sitting area flow together, offering plenty of room to spread out, prepare favourite meals, and linger over unhurried evenings.

The vaulted ceiling overhead adds a sense of airiness, while the stove in the sitting area becomes the natural heart of the cottage, drawing you to curl up together in front of the flames or simply zone out with a film on the TV.

From here, wander through to the sunroom, where wide windows frame the gardens and orchard beyond, creating a lovely prospect in all seasons and a peaceful spot for morning coffee, an afternoon read, or watching the light fade over the fields. At the end of the day, climb to the mezzanine-level king-size bedroom, where feature high ceilings and captivating rural views provide an appealing retreat after days spent exploring.

A sleek ground-floor shower room with a walk-in shower and heated towel rail completes the interior, adding convenience to your stay. When you are ready to explore, the surrounding area offers a wealth of days out.As Newtown is well connected, sitting on the main Cambrian railway line with regular services running between Birmingham International and Aberystwyth, making it easy for guests to explore the heart of Mid Wales and beyond. So whilst exploring, why not head to the market town of Welshpool to discover independent shops, waterside walks along the canal, and visits to the impressive Powis Castle.

Venture to Shrewsbury for historic streets, a choice of eateries, and riverside strolls along the Severn.

Alternatively, make for Machynlleth, home to the Centre for Alternative Technology and a gateway to walking routes and dramatic Mid Wales scenery.

Explore the ruins of the Norman Motte and Bailey castle in the beautiful old county town of Montgomery, wander the Grade I listed formal gardens at the renowned Gregynog Hall, or visit the world-famous Powis Castle and Gardens, often frequented by Prince Charles.
