    "The Farmhouse is in need of a spruce up."

    We were there 3years ago and it is certainly a bit run down since then. Also for a house this size it should have a washing machine indoors the house and not at the office. I can see that for caravans but not for something that cost us £6000. On the whole we had a great holiday as the weather was wonderful. There is also a lack of garden furniture as I do not count just a table and chairs.

    Thank you for your review and for returning to stay with us again. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed your holiday and had the benefit of such great weather. We redecorate annually and replace items of furniture as and when required, so your comments will be taken into account when we next review the farmhouse. The washing machine was previously available in the property, but due to repeated misuse and the associated costs of repair and replacement, it had to be removed. Instead, we provide free access to our large-capacity laundry facilities at reception, which are more suitable for family-sized loads. In terms of outdoor furniture, the farmhouse did have an L-shaped sofa which unfortunately had to be removed due to damage. We currently provide a table, chairs, and parasol, though we appreciate your suggestion and will consider expanding the selection in future. We’re very pleased that you enjoyed your holiday overall, and we’d love to welcome you back to Jockhedge again. Property Owner

    "The property has serious WiFi issues, which are only present in one room at best, the hot tub does not work and was not useable."

    Thank you for your review and for taking the time to provide your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry that certain aspects of your stay did not meet expectations. I’d like to clarify the steps we took during your visit to address the issues raised: • Wi-Fi – We understand how important this is, especially for guests relying on internet access for work or planning. During your stay, the Wi-Fi issue was reported and investigated. The service is managed by an external provider, Camping Connect, and their engineer confirmed that the entire cable to the property requires replacement. We did however offer you a separate cottage where you could you the WiFi. Unfortunately, this work could not be completed until after your departure. We fully appreciate how frustrating this must have been and are working with the provider to resolve the issue long term. • Hot Tub – The hot tub was reported to us during your stay and we arranged for it to be repaired within 24 hours. We understand how important this feature is and responded as quickly as possible to minimise inconvenience. • TV – Once the TV issue was brought to our attention, we had an electrician attend the property the very same day. A temporary solution was put in place to restore signal, and the full aerial was replaced on the Friday to ensure reliable viewing. We always strive to address any concerns swiftly and do our best to ensure our guests have a pleasant and comfortable stay. We’re sorry to hear that on this occasion, we fell short of your expectations, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us continue to improve. Property Owner

    "Our group of five couples had a wonderful stay at The Farmhouse over the August bank holiday weekend."

    The house is spacious and well appointed. The kitchen is large and there are even two refridgerators. The dining room easily accommodated 12 around one long table, and the reception also was suitable for a group this size. The bedrooms were all large and most had their own bathroom attached or ensuite. It is a lovely area for walking - inland or along the coast and some National Trust type properties to visit.

    Fully equipped kitchen and every utensil you needed. We had good weather so we took advantage of the BBQ and spent our evenings relaxing in the amazing large garden and obviously spent time in the Hot tub. A great time was had by all.

    "Highly recommend this property."

    Lovely setting. Many wonderful memories of a special birthday. The children loved the attic room as their own private domicile. The tree swing was a big hit and brought lots of memories back for the older members of the group. It would have got 5/5 but the garden wasn't completely enclosed as one dog did get out but safely returned. And the hot tub needs regular checking for PH levels.

    "Lovely stay, very well equipped and comfortable."

    So quiet and relaxing, we would have loved to know a little more about some of the artwork, and artifacts around the various grounds. Staff, especially receptionist were very helpful and charming.. Just a couple of points, we missed having our own washing machine @ dryer. Main entrance lock very worn, and hard to undo. Pool broke on 2nd day, and although we were told an electrician was called, we were very disappointed not to be able to use it again. Dowmstairs toilet seat needs repair. Light switch in dining room is unreliable. However these were just minor issues, and we would most definately recommend this beautiful property - thank you !

    "Me and my group of friends have just returned from a long weekend at the cottage, we loved staying here and would highly recommend."

    Everything was spotless and the most well equipped kitchen! No need to bring anything extra or cleaning supplies, also a cot, high chair and stair gate available to use which was handy for our toddler. It is In a lovely quiet location which is free to explore, also discovered a children's play area and tree swing down the road. It was a short drive into Skegness so enjoyed the sunny weekend at the beach, lots of shops and nice restaurants nearby as well. Will definitely be returning :)

    Best equipped kitchen I've seen with great dining room. All beds extremely comfortable with lovely bedrooms. Garden a dream for games, with plenty of seating - both at table and more relaxed. Hot tub great fun. Location brilliant - variety of pubs in village, with choice of food, all within walking distance. Our favourite was the Red Lion for drinks and The Windmill for a good meal. Great base to explore the area - coast, bird watching, inland towns and Bollingbrook Castle and caravan spotting

    The house was so beautiful, decorated with Christmas decorations and with some free snacks included. The management team could not have been more helpful and the landlord was very accommodating. Very dog friendly. I’m looking forward for future stays at this Farm House next year I’ll definitely will be booking again. Very pleased

    "One of our party is a keen fisherman so, a few weeks before we went I asked Sykes help desk if the fishing lakes shown on the Jockhedge's website were available to hirers."

    The answer came back that they weren't. When we arrived a the property we found out that the lakes belong to Jockhedge and fishing is available.

    Still felt very cosy even though it's such a large house, all exceptionally clean, as was the rest of the house. Hot tub was massive, and in it's own complex was great. Highly recommend.

The property

Found outside the centre of the charming town of Burgh le Marsh is this beautiful collection of historic buildings, now converted to offer wonderful holiday accommodation, with the largest being The Farmhouse.

This 200-year-old property has been thoughtfully and carefully restored with perfectly chosen classic furnishings amidst modern essentials, making it suitable for large groups and families to get together for a lovely retreat.

The ground floor of the property boasts several rooms to relax in and gather together, from the entrance hall-turned-snug with an open-fire, to the sitting room where a woodburning stove can be lit on a winter's evening to warm everyone as you watch a film together on the large TV, cuddling up on the array of beautiful soft seating including a traditional chaise longue.

Spread out with a board game in the kitchen/diner, as the chefs of the group get the evening meal on the go using the large range cooker, and then when all is ready, serve up the meal within the dining room, where a long table has a place for everyone to sit and tuck in.

Play some summer outdoor games or just enjoy a run around with the little ones in the large enclosed garden with plenty of lawn space and seating, and later on take a dip in the inviting hot tub, set within an outhouse so the weather won't stop you from taking a relaxing soak in the bubbles.

Heading upstairs to the first floor will bring you to four of the five gorgeous bedrooms, you'll look forward to the part of your day when you get to settle into one of the king-size or double beds, with three of the rooms benefiting from en-suite bathrooms, one including a taste of luxury with a roll-top bath to soak in for a quiet moment.

Those with little ones will love getting snug in the second-floor family room up in the eaves which holds a king-size and two singles.

Make a plan for the day and decide where you'd like to go, take a trip to the seaside resort of Skegness where a host of charming attractions lie, visit the seals at Natureland, where orphaned and rescued seals are rehabilitated, as well as penguins, butterflies, reptiles and you can even feed the goats in Pets Corner.

Stroll along the Skegness Pier for wonderful views of the coast, before hopping on some thrilling rides at the Pleasure Beach Fairground for those who feel a little daring.

If you love getting into the heart of beautiful countryside then go up to the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB, perfect for walking and cycling over a range of scenic hills.

The Farmhouse will be a treat for all within this lovely area of Lincolnshire.

BURGH LE MARSH

Skegness 4 miles.

The pretty town of Burgh le Marsh, surrounded by open farmland, is just four miles from the popular seaside town of Skegness. Burgh le Marsh has varied amenities, with five pubs all serving food, a butcher's, a baker's and a store. There is a lovely historic windmill and an ancient church, perched high on a hill. There is a mixture of old and new buildings, now housing several tea rooms and restaurants. It has a good road network, with very easy access to Louth, Lincoln and the coast. The nearby coastline has long, sandy beaches and sand dunes, a haven for wildlife, including a couple of seal sanctuaries, notably Donna Nook Seal Reserve to the north of Mablethorpe. This is ideal cycling country, with quiet country routes and flat terrain. The town provides a good base for touring this lesser known coastal district of Lincolnshire.
