"We had a great time at Widgeons Keel, the cottage is in the middle of a small village with two pubs and a shop."
There is also a regular ferry from Flushing to Falmouth, which we got a few times and even saw a seal on one trip! We got really lucky with the weather and managed a trip to Flushing Beach, which is also within walking distance from the cottage.
The photos really don’t do this cottage justice, we have been using Sykes for around 15 years and this is one of the best properties we’ve stayed in. All the rooms were a really good size, the kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils we needed and the location was beautiful.

"We stayed here 2 years ago and was looking forward to coming back."
However a few issues this time. Some of the cutlery and crockery was dirty when we arrived so washed these before we could use them. We used dishwasher on the Sunday evening and found the dishes were not clean. The dishwasher filter had an inch of grease so clearly had not been cleaned for a while. We cleaned the dishwasher filter.
It was February so weather was wet most of the week and by 3pm we would be back at the cottage. However, the radiators were set at 7 degrees until approximately 7pm so we had to light the wood burner to warm up the property. The radiators were set at 18 degrees all night.
We used washing machine once and was unable to open the door after the wash so had to call property manager to get this sorted. This was fixed same day temporarily by crab line hooked around the door catch.
Lovely property but had these issues which you don’t expect especially as we were most likely the first paying occupants since Christmas.

"Very comfortable house which was warm and clean."
The bed was a decent size and very comfortable The location is very central with everything within minutes on foot. Without the allocated parking space parking would have been difficult, but as it was all was good.

"A warm and cosy cottage well equipped with all you might need."
The village is unspoiled, very peaceful in early October. Well served with the Waterside bar/restaurant and two pubs that serve good food and well stocked shop. All within an easy short walk from the cottage, which was a must for us.
The ferry to Falmouth was very convenient but unfortunately not ideal for people with mobility issues!
Would definitely stay again.
Thanks so much for your lovely feedback.

"This cottage had everything we needed."
The location in the attractive village of Flushing was very peaceful, but had three really good eating places and the local shop within five minutes walk. The parking place was a definite asset. The cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and tastefully furnished. The garden was great for a snack or drink when weather permitted and we appreciated the cream tea left to welcome us.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property.
Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

"The cottage was really lovely however, it was advertised as two bathroom which it clearly wasn't."
You need to address this in your property description as it was a determining factor when selecting the property . I was also disappointed with the available parking which was almost non existent around the village. Again when booking the cottage, I did explain that my husband had limited mobility and specifically asked about the parking which I was told 'was not normally a problem '
The location was ideal for touring however, not a cottage I would look to visit again. I would just like to say how prompt the agent looking after the cottage was in dealing with an issue we had with the drainage on the shower

"The accommodation was perfect."
Our only complaint is that the house was extremely cold. My husband has Cancer which was relayed to the House Manager and to request the heating be increased to ease his discomfort.
I understand the owner was aware, as it seems he controls the heating from afar.

"Well equipped and comfortable."
Good location and dedicated parking space a real bonus. 1 small suggestion, a plate drying rack would be helpful for when the dishwasher is full or not used.

"The rooms were surprisingly large, this was not your normal tiny holiday cottage, but an actual house you could reasonably live in."
It is old though, the doors are very low - tall people beware.
The location was brilliant, Flushing itself was gorgeous and all 3 pubs are worth a visit for dinner. Getting into Falmouth was made a little trickier by the roadworks, but even then didn't take long enough to put us off. Unfortunately, with two children over the age of 16, the ferry prices were punishing, and also it ended far too early to be useful in the evening, so no nights out enjoying the Falmouth restaurant scene.
The parking space was incredibly useful, if challenging. A good understanding of where the front of your car is and cameras is advised.

"Very well maintained and equipped cottage, parking space a real boon for Flushing."
Tastefully decorated so that it felt like a home rather than a rental. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

"Lovely cosy and stylish interior decor."
Very comfortable beds. It is probably the best equipped cottage we've stayed at in many years of visits to Cornwall.
The separate loo downstairs was essential, but please can you fit a lock to avoid embarrassing moments!
Homely touches were great, especially the pictures, art and local history books.
The parking space is a brilliant bonus in Flushing. Even out of season the roadside parking is very busy.
However, sadly we were disturbed at night with noise from the neighbours due to the thin wall between the houses upstairs (on the left as you look at the cottage). They weren't being loud, but we could hear them talking, coughing, snoring etc late at night and early morning. Not a complaint about the neighbours, just the wall. Maybe others wouldn't notice it.
The garden was a damp yard area with no sun or outlook, and so we didn't use it. The upper area would be amazing if it could be restored.
The notes for the cottage probably need updating as the pub is now the Harbour House which is fine dining (and excellent!), and the shop is much improved under new ownership.
Adrian the property manager was helpful and responsive before/throughout our stay.
Overall we had a lovely holiday and the improvement feedback is really just to make the cottage perfect!
Thank you.

"We thought Widgeon's Keel was a fabulous cottage."
It was extremely clean, well furnished and equipped, and with very comfortable beds. The location is great - just short walk to the pub, shop, harbour, and kids play area, and only a few minutes further to the beach. The parking space (tucked away in a very close alley) was useful.

"Fantastic location, lovely property, spotlessly clean and great to have a parking space."
It's a shame there is only one full bathroom. The only negative was the frustration of not being able to control the heating. We had to message a couple of times after returning from wet walks, bit disappointed by that. Overall however a lovely, relaxing holiday.

Very cosy and comfortable. The village is pretty with lots of lovely walks and easy access to Falmouth on ferry.
Beds are very comfortable and cottage is spotlessly clean everywhere. Heating was controlled through the owners phone so that was adjusted by contacting the manager- who was very helpful.

"Widgeons Keel is a lovely cottage."
It was very clean and super comfortable, conveniently located near the ferry for Falmouth and near some beautiful walks. We made good use of the log burner with the variable Cornish weather last week.

"Great house in a very good village."
Excellent location to discover the local areas and really good walks.
Very good facilities and comfortable house. Was really great to have off the road parking.
During our stay we requested some extra towels, this was dealt with very efficiently by the House manager Adrain.
Possibly consider including more towels.
Local pubs were great but a special mention for the Royal Standard, great food and hospitality.

"Brilliant cottage, wonderful area to stay - Flushing."
Pubs, shop, beach, Scenery all within easy reach and really lovely. Used our paddle board and snorkels. Are out. Didn’t need to travel really but did go out for adventure activities which were amazing and close by.
The house pics don’t do it justice. The garden was great to have and BBQ. Parking space invaluable.
Very nice touches in the house. Lovely and arty which was appreciated by my sculptor husband and myself a jeweller. Very nicely and well equipped.
