  • "The cabin is beautiful, but what sold it for me was being able to hire the tramper, I'm disabled and always miss out on forest walks when I go to cabins."

But not this time. Such a great idea. Thank you.

  • "It's still a good experience but standards have clearly slipped."

It's now a bit too expensive for the quality of accommodation, Also seems to be too much reliance on staff in training and staff numbers generally seem low.

The information provided prior and on arrival was informative and, on checking in/out, staff were really friendly.

The property

Forest Holidays' Classic Golden Oak cabin is one of 67 cabins set within the idyllic landscape of Keldy, North Yorkshire, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.

Experience a one-of-a-kind break with all the comforts of home, easy dining options and activities and extras that will make it an unforgettable holiday in nature.

Step inside this spacious cabin styled in earthy shades of soft fennel and muted greys, complemented by whitewashed oak furniture. Built in harmony with the surrounding forest, this cabin’s great for smaller groups and families, with plenty of space to stretch out – then take in the views with floor to ceiling windows that let the light flood in as you sit back into your comfortable corner sofa. Extra home comforts and a kitchen with all the essentials make it easy for you to relax amongst the forest, the moment you walk through the door – fire up the barbecue on the decking, curl up by the logburner or sit back under clear skies in your very own hot tub.

Cabins at Keldy Forest lie amongst idyllic woodland and sunlit glades.

Coast, countryside and moorland are nearby, giving an authentic Yorkshire feel.

Catch Harry Potter’s steam train through the moors, hike along the famous Cinder Track, or explore the surrounding forest, where the hooting of the nocturnal Tawny owl fills the air. Stay close and jump on the 100m zip wire experience in the forest, hire bikes and cycle the 'lost' Bransdale Loop, explore the North York Moors National Park right on your doorstep, or take a trip to the rugged beaches like Whitby and Scarborough nearby.

In the forest, book a range of Forest Ranger activities that will help you connect with nature and the forest around you – from Nature Tots for under-5s, to Wildlife Wonders and Survival Skills, for any age.

When you book a Forest Holiday you're supporting nature too – they're stewards of 244.5 hectares of forest, managing the land for conservation and creating spaces in nature for people to stay.
