  !!!! Absolute love this beautiful holiday bungalow it's just like a second home. Was also fortunate to meet the lovely owner Sue. Not going to mention the absolute appalling weather !!!!!! Only downside is now we're home I have a very unhappy staffy .......she absolutely loved it too and misses the beach and sea.

  This is my second time staying at Arwelfa and I chose it again because it really is home from home Access can be restricted due to cars parking opposite but in my large car , Ford Mondeo , I took 1 shunt and got very easily onto the spacious driveway so please don’t let this put you off Once inside , the bungalow is very spacious and all the rooms are large My favourite is to sit in the living room in the single chairs ( although there are 2 sofas ) and look out to sea especially towards Penmon Point and Puffin Island Penmaenmawr has all that you need and some takeaways do deliver if you don’t fancy cooking 1 evening, we can highly recommend Junction Tandoori from Llandudno or Harvest Moon Chinese from Llanfairfechan We also had a home delivery from Tesco so all your comforts can be sorted The kitchen is fully equipped so when I did cook I had everything I needed to hand At some point we will be back next year without a doubt

• "We left on Thursday as the bungalow made me ill it smelt really bad of damp and fustiness."

  The shower had a small amount of mould. We thought at first that someone had tried to clean the sitting room carpet as it was quite stained and that was causing the smell but it never went. The parking was awful as it was a busy road so that the way cars parked stopped us getting on the drive. On a positive if the owner gets to the bottom of the dreadful smell it could be a lovely little bungalow. I could not recommend Penmennmawr to stay as there really is nothing to do there

We are sorry to learn that you had a less an wonderful experience, though would like to note that you didn't reach out to us to let us know. Had you done so we would have had an opportunity to sort things out. On our weekly changeover visit we did notice what looked like the remnants of a party having taken place, and can only assume that this must have been the cause of the smell in the lounge. However, I'm pleased to be able to say that by the Saturday no such smell remained. We will, of course, ask the Cleaner to check out the carpet for any previously unseen stains. Finally, we can only apologise for the cars parked on the other side of the road. This unfortunately this is out of our control being a Public Highway. Kind regards Sue Property Owner

• "On the whole bungalow beautiful BUT , shortage of wardrobes."

  No mirrors , Mum is 5ft.3inches and could just see top of hair in bathroom. Drain in kitchen smelt . Bathroom sink took ages to empty. Very very slow. Shower flooded. Garden was really bad . Unable to sit out cos of Bindweed , Blackberry , weeds , dead poppies . Really needs attention. Lastly bins put them out , but not emptied they weren’t emptied from week before. They were attacked by birds, cats or something all over drive. It was quiet and overall good for us.

  Hi Kate, Thank you for your feedback, which is always appreciated, and are so pleased that you enjoyed the bungalow :-). I'm happy to confirm that following investigation of both the kitchen sink and bathroom washbasin drains by our Drainage Contractor we've been advised that no problems were found. Please accept our apologies regarding both the garden and the bins. Our contracted Gardener is recuperating from an accident which put him off work for just over a month, which unfortunately meant that the garden had got somewhat overgrown - he's now back and it is much improved after this first visit. The bins I am afraid are a different matter. The Welsh Government are very firm on recycling and meeting the necessary targets. This means that Conwy County Borough Council only collect the Waste Bin every 4 weeks, and they were due the Monday after you left. I did check the day you arrived and there was sufficient room for one week's waste in the waste bin. The recycling and the food bin are collected weekly, which was on the Monday after your arrival on the Saturday and there appeared to be room on your arrival day for any recycling your stay provided until the collection. I have further checked with the Council and they have advised that normal weekly recycling collection took place on that Monday. Kind regards, Sue Property Owner

• "Fantastic holiday!"

  Beautiful location and very friendly people! We were very lucky with the weather and there are some beautiful walks both up the mountains as well as along the coast and beach. The village is very pretty with all the conveniences. The bungalow was very comfortable and clean and there were some amazing sunsets to be seen from there!

• "Excellent accommodation."

  Very clean and well equipped. The only downside is that we are used to a King sized bed and struggled with the double. As an elderly couple we found the hill from the village a bit too much but it was not an issue as we just used the car. The bathroom very modern but would benefit from a shower caddy to put shampoo, soap and shower gel rather than on the floor. Also a couple of easy chairs in the conservatory would have been nice. Parking tight but wasn’t an issue. Dogs enjoyed outside enclosed courtyard. Overall a very enjoyable stay with everything you need

• "Lovely, spacious, well-equipped bungalow, in a beautiful area."

  Our only problems were: 1 getting on to the drive…..the road is very narrow, on a steep hill and cars are always parked on the opposite side of the road 2 the shower was not very hot, even though it was on the highest setting

• "Had a lovely stay the bungalow was lovely couldn’t fault it only two problems the settee and chairs have lost their firmness and are uncomfortable and in the garden our little dog got out as the metal fence at the bottom of the steps was big enough for him to get through so when they went out we had put him on a lead , also don’t use the conservatory door when it’s windy go out via the garage ."

• "Situated on a very steep hill, Awkward to access on and off drive as cars parked on road opposite ."

  Great views though !! Bungalow was very clean and comfortable. TV had fault which I contacted owner about and fridge had issue with milk storage shelf as already damaged when I arrived. Owner happy to sort asap at end of week as agreed. Could do with another floor mat by the patio doors in conservatory for muddy paws coming back in from outside. Very happy with the stay.

  In easy reach of other areas around north wales. Lovely walk to the promenade, bit of a climb back, but the walk through the park with the streams and small waterfalls was worth it. The views of Anglesey and puffin island was a delight. Thank you for the welcome pack. Would love to return.

• "Beautiful bungalow,clean and so cosy."

  Beds very comfy,very good supply of kitchen utensils,did cook several meals.lovely and peaceful location and only a few minutes walk to shops and down to Penmaemawr beach.Dogs loved the beach at low tide although very windy,nice secure garden for them.I do have mobility problems on waiting list for knee replacement,but did manage to go down to beach and back up every day,albeit slowly,as quite a steep incline.Would recommend and hopefully when knee done will book again as some fantastic walks nearby,also thanks to Sue the owner for her kind help prior to holiday

• "Champagne flutes and more coat hangers are required."

  Also there is no grey kitchen caddy or bags for recycling waste food in the kitchen. Otherwise very nice.

• "As caravan owners this was our first ever 'rented' holiday and we were so impressed that we have already booked again for 2024."

  We had a wonderful time. The only problem was other people parking across from the entrance to the drive making it difficult to get in and out of the drive.

• "The bungalow was perfect."

  It felt spacious, was really clean, well equipped, and had really comfy beds! The area was nice and quiet and we loved the fact the sheep roamed the road and ate the grass from the front garden. Lovely sitting in the living room looking out at the views The welcome drink and Welsh cakes were thoughtful. The bungalows back garden was secure for our little dog,and owners had even thought to leave bowls! As mentioned in previous reviews, cars parking on the road makes it harder to park on drive, but not impossible.

• "We enjoyed our week at Arwelfa, a lovely light sunny bungalow."

  While there is parking on the the drive, access in and out was difficult because of locals parking directly opposite. Unfortunately, because of underground water leak the shower was quite ineffective, the side garden being flooded. A couple of cushions would have been useful in the lounge, also a dish drainer and scissors. The conservatory was excellent for meals as were the garden chairs on the patio. The enclosed garden was secure for our dog. A lovely sunny week.

  Very spacious ... we loved the conservatory..... The only issue was parking, you get boxed in the drive as neighbouring people park on the road , it's near Impossible to get out however we parked a 1 minute walk up the road . It did not impact on our stay we had a fantastic time . Its beyond the owners control . We are booking again for next year .

• "The property suited our needs, was warm, comfortable and well equipped for a holiday home."

  Location is good with all facilities within easy reach. The A55 North Wales Express way, 2 mins drive away, allows access to all the resorts along the coast. Would use again. Having encountered a slight problem with the heating, a call to the owner had it resolved within hours. Couldn't ask for more. I would echo a comment made by another user in that due to local residents parking opposite the property getting onto the drive is difficult but not impossible. If you're confident at reversing then you will be OK. Would use again.

  The property was exactly as described and is luxurious. It has everything you need and is easy to find. Penmaenmawr is really nice and about 15 mins between Conwy and Llandudno so a great location. Overall would definitely stay at Arwelfa again.

• "Wonderful place to stay."

  However sadly access to the drive was hindered by a car permanently park on the opposite side of a narrow road. The lounge would benefit from having some lamps to soften the harsh ceiling lighting. Kitchen superbly fitted well stocked. Thank you would recommend this accommodation.

• "Lovely stay More than expected hospitality gifts."

  Tea coffee sugar washpowder even washing up liquid. Spotlessly clean. Bungalow on steep hill so not easy if you have mobility issues. Also a tight entrance with cars parked opposite .My husband had to shunt to get in. Apart from this a lovely stay and a super place.

• "We would like to thank Sue for such a wonderful holiday cottage."

  Really impressed with the clean and modern cottage. I felt the owner really cares about the clients with such great attention to details. On arrival we even got complimentary wine, juice and Welsh cake, which is such a pleasant surprise. There are even washing liquid and kitchen foils, tea and coffee etc so really made it easy and convenient for us to feel like home. The appliances are quite new as well, like cooker, microwave and central heating are all very easy to use. Overall would highly recommend.

• "What a wonderful week we had at Arwelfa."

  It is a wonderful place to stay and in a really good location. The bungalow is very comfy with excellent facilities. It was great having that sea view and the sunsets were spectacular. The bungalow had everything we needed. The owners had thought about things really carefully to make it a home from home. We loved it because it was close to the beach so we could easily walk out dog. We could also quickly get up on the hills. Penmaenmawr is a perfect location to take in some spectacular places - all within easy distance. We loved staying at Arwelfa and will certainly book again.

• "We loved the property and it was the perfect base for our stay."

  Very comfortable and clean and equipped to a high standard. Due to the storm we ended up spending extra time indoors so it was great to be in Arwelfa where we were comfortable. We're planning to come and stay again as there are so many places in Wales that we'd still like to visit. • "Arrived at ARWELFA on a cold afternoon to a lovely warm greeting as the central heating was on full bore."

  A welcome pack including wine, Welsh cakes, tea, coffee, etc. etc. added to the welcome. The bungalow is very spacious with EVERYTHING that we could wish for. It is decorated to a high standard and was very clean. The guide for the property contained all that we needed. The location is great and allowed easy access to Anglesey, Bangor, Conwy, etc.etc. We spoke to the owner on a couple of occasions and Sue was extremely helpful and friendly.

• "The property was excellent."

  The whole place has been very recently upgraded to a high standard. The village and beach was much better than expected with nice cafe on the edge of the beach. There are footpaths nearly all the way down. Head for Constitution lane, there is also a nice secluded park on the way. At the bottom look for Archway/tunnel under the Road and Railway onto the promenade. The bungalow driveway is a bit tight to get into for bigger cars, We only did it for unloading and parked outside on the road for the rest of the time no problem. Everything was there we needed. Thanks to the owners, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

• "A lovely, modern, sparklingly clean good-sized bungalow with mountain and sea views."

  Yes, there are steps into the property and out from the conservatory but my trusty stick helped me to negotiate these and the effort was more than worthwhile. In fact, the two of us ate all our meals outside in the wooden arbour, keeping an eye on our dog and looking at the mountains we used to climb. The local people went out of their way to be helpful when we were looking for places without a satnav. Superb!
