  • "Just had a fantastic week at 1 Grange Cottage."

Wonderful welcome box in kitchen for both husband and I and our dog Molly. Sarah and Paul a message away if you have any issues, the cottage is comfortable and clean with an inviting fireplace, which we did not get to light as the weather was warm enough. Lovely garden for you to have a read in the summer house or a dip in the jacuzzi, you might even get a visit from the horses in the field next door. The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of games and DVDs for the evening. Plenty of places to visit and the beaches are wonderful....would I stay again! Most definitely.

The hot tub was a nice addition and the property has been tastefuly modernised. We were lucky enough to witness the northern lights on a couple of times during the week which was a real bonus!

A fantastic wood burner with some wood provided. The hot tub and summer house was brilliant and some lovely welcome gifts on arrival they are clearly dog lovers because there were some wonderful gifts for them. There were jacuzzi towels provided also and it smelt amazing when we walked in. The only issue we had is that unfortunately the cottage is shared with an additional cottage with people who own and live in it. They left the main gate open constantly and they said to us that our dogs should be doing their business on the road which isn't ideal for the safety of the dogs. They unfortunately left a blemish on our stay but they are selling their property so hopefully not too long before they depart. On the whole a lovely lovely stay .

  • "Well I have to say this cottage is beautiful and situated in a peaceful spot in the countryside although 15 min drive to get to Alnwick ( main town ) which was nothing ."

We loved our stay the only sound you will hear is the animals and birds about the place which was lovely our grandson loved to see the animals round about. The cottage itself has been well planned out they had set out a beautiful hamper for arrival for adults & pets alike very thoughtful , cottage very well appointed and has all the extras like things you could forget , bin bags and kitchen essentials, which we had taken as we have been caught out before. The only reason I did not give 5 stars to this review was due to sleep the master bedroom the mattress was like sleeping on wood and I have a firm mattress at home, never the less the other beds my daughter /grandson used were great! More than enough towels bedding and so on. Outside the hot tub and garden area terrific all be it you hve to walk passed the neighbours house and the end if car park but nevertheless it was so quiet no one seemed to bother anyone, at the front of the house the little seating area is small and simply done but we adored it again peaceful & sun trap we loved to sit and have a coffee and breakfast there. Neighbours were lovely also spoke to us and advised on places to eat and each day said hello and asked where we had been. Overall I loved this place and would definitely book again for next year. (Just change master bed pleaseeeee)

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We have taken on board your comment about the mattress and this has now been replaced. We hope that you do visit us again in the near future. Property Owner

They have created a lovely relaxing space which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was cleaned to a great standard with flattering furnishings. We loved the extra touches like a hamper for us and one for our four legged friends. There are lots of walks around the area and some great pubs and shops a short drive away.

  • "Beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean and modern."

Some nice touches to the property which was very well equipped and everything was of a good quality. Lovely area and lots to explore. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay but feel the hot hub should be advertised as not adjacent to the property and that you have to walk past the neighbouring house to get there. However once at the hot tub area it is private with a beautifully decorated summer house. The only other issue we had was getting woken up EVERY morning at 4.30am by a nearby cockeral which is the last thing you want on holiday!! However we do realise this is outwith your control.

  • "We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Grange cottage!"

The cottage itself was very well maintained and also very clean, with the added bonus of the hot tub. The location was good, a little further out from things but still very accessible by car, meaning that towns like Alnwick and even more coastal towns were a short drive away. Overall, would definitely recommend!

So clean and welcoming. A lovely hamper was left for ourselves and the pooches. The children enjoyed all the extra board games. The nice little thoughts of extra towels, fluffy blankets and a few provisions go to show how thoughtful people can be! Thank you for going that extra mile for our holiday!

A clean cosy and comfortable cottage in a perfect location with lots of extra touches. Fire prepped ready to light logs to burn treats left for us and the pups thoughtful and kind extra touches. The hot tub was lovely and has a warm summer house to relax in. Stunning location and lots to explore.

  • "What a fantastic cottage."

Everything you need and more. Set in beautiful countryside near to a working farm. Enjoy the hot tub and summer house set on the edge of a lovely wood, as you listen to the plentiful bird song and watch as the many different species fly from tree to tree. Take a stroll along the quiet country lane. Cast your gaze over the fields as you walk under the mature trees and watch as rabbit, hare and deer enjoy the quiet evening sunlight and if you're fortunate, you'll get to watch the sadly endangered Common Redstart singing proudly in the hedgerows and ancient oak overhead. The cottage is immaculate and lacks nothing. Couple of pointers; take care of the tap in the ensuite or you'll end up with a wet surprise, and use the WiFi code on the router, not in the welcome info, as this has errors. NB. There is a local pub (Queens Head) in Glanton (closed Tues and Wed) for drinks but you'll have to travel a little further for pubs offering food.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay. The wildlife is just spectacular. Thank you for pointing out the error in the welcome pack. This will be amended immediately. We hope to see you soon. Property Owner

Situated in a lovely rural location surrounded by cattle, sheep, and wildlife, both the national park and the stunning coastline are within easy reach. The only slight negative is the enclosed garden is off the shared driveway and not the cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage.

About the location

ALNWICK

Alnmouth 4 miles; Bamburgh 15 miles; Rothbury 10 miles.

The attractive and historic market town of Alnwick is dominated by Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. The Castle Gardens, opened in 2002, are home to Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden, which will delight novice and experienced gardeners alike. The castle is also famous as the setting for Hogwarts School featured in the Harry Potter films! The town's narrow streets have seen little change since the days when the London to Edinburgh stage coach passed through and the Market Place, with its stone cross, is still the central feature and the ideal venue for the weekly Saturday market. Alnwick offers a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat and there is plenty to see and do, with miles of golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands all available nearby. Altogether a superb location for exploring Northumberland and its stunning Heritage Coastline.
