  • "Had a fabulous stay at Bryn Goleu."

Everything we could possibly need was provided at the property (including a slow cooker, which was useful when we went out for a full day). Each part of the family had their own floor for bed/s and bathrooms, whilst the addition of the children's play and tv area was a big hit. The outside space on the terrace had plenty of seating and room for everyone (dog and child friendly). A really lovely waterfall walk behind the property gave us somewhere to explore right from the door. Location of BG is excellent - just a short drive into Barmouth for proper family seaside time (buckets & spades, crabbing, boats, steam train etc) and for picking up groceries from the Co-op there. All in all a wonderful property, properly equipped throughout and extremely comfortable. Delyth and Brian (the owners) were very welcoming and contactable.

Thank you so much for your kind words and so pleased you had an enjoyable stay hopefully you'll return again soon Thank you Delyth and Brian Property Owner

  • "The house was very comfortable - & just right for what we needed."

Not many places big enough for nine adults so we appreciated the spaciousness, particularly the large dining area. The kitchen area was possibly a little small to cook & serve food for nine but we managed, & the range of cooking equipment was very good. The house in general was well equipped & the welcome biscuits, cake etc were very nice. The Xmas decorations were also a lovely touch. Made it look really festive! We were slightly unsure from the emails about how much cleaning we were supposed to do on departure - whether they wanted us to empty all the bins or just the kitchen. Anyhow I think we left everything in good order. Overall an enjoyable stay in a location perfect for exploring the area.

Thank you for your lovely review glad you enjoyed the comfort of the house Can I also thank you for leaving the house in good order it was very much appreciated I am sorry for the confusion over the amount of cleaing required. We do ask guests to leave it as you find but respect the fact you are on holiday after all as long as the beds are stripped and the bins emptied that is sufficient. So pleased you liked our beautiful area Thank you for kind comments Brian and Delyth Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week."

The area is stunning in its beauty. We were relieved to find that the garden was secure for our dogs as it wasn't clear on the listing. The kitchen and dining area were where we spent most of our time at the property. The 2 en suites at the top of the house are very spacious and have good views. The road is busy but isn't as intrusive as I was expecting. There were not any issues with parking.

Thank you for your kind comments and pleased the house was to your liking. The kitchen diner is a hit with most of our guests glad you enjoyed your stay Kind regards Delyth and Brian Property Owner

Bryn Goleu is very well maintained and spotlessly clean on arrival. The welcome pack was a really generous collection of treats, but also included essentials, that we often forget to pack, to make sure we could get on with the holiday in comfort. It is equipped with absolutely every thing you need as well. The owners are just down the road, they are rightfully proud of Bryn Goleu and extremely helpful. All the rooms are spacious, we had 10 of us from 3 generations from 16-80 years old, plenty of space to spend time, sit and eat together. The Mawddach estuary is a great bit of Wales to spend time around. We holiday in North Wales every year, so much to do. Bryn Goleu was an ideal base for us all. Thank you Delyth.and Brian!!!

  • "We were an extended family of 9 aged 4-80!"

We stayed here for a week and had a great time. The cottage was tastefully decorated with high quality furnishings and equipment. The rooms were all of generous sizes and very comfortable. Everything in great working order. The bank holiday traffic was a bit noisy but not too bad after the weekend. The only recommendation I would make is needing a bigger fridge (we ordered a weeks worth of shopping & there’s 1 small fridge). The cottage was exceptionally clean, with everything you need and the owner very helpful.

Thank you for the positive feedback. Unfortunately you may have missed the information on the welcome note explaining that there is a fridge freezer in the shed at the side of the house we were unable to find a space for it in the dining kitchen and thought it would be ideal in the shed. Road noise has been an issue this year due to the vast amount of visitors to our area. I do hope this didnt spoil your stay. Kind regards Delyth and Brian Property Owner

  • "We had such a wonderful stay at Bryn Goleu, 4 couples and a friend tagged along!"

We arrived early afternoon after a 5.5 hour drive from Essex to find tea, coffee, milk, cakes & a bottle of Prosecco to help us get settled in. That honestly made all the difference, as we didn't want to have to rush back out the door for refreshments when we had no idea where anything was yet! We weren't too sure about what to get up to when we arrived in Wales, apart from booking to go to so the zip wire the day after we arrived. Penrhyn Quarry was only 1 hour 15 mins drive away with beautiful views along the way. We had news of bad weather incoming so we also squeezed in a bit of the Watkin Path on Snowdonia the same day. Typical wales weather meant that our third day was spent playing queen monopoly that we'd brought along & some of the other games available to us. The kitchen was the perfect size for us to all eat together and plenty of pots, pans & utensils available to us to cook anything we wanted, which meant we ate a lot of great food having a chef in the party! On the last day, we popped to Barmouth on the coast and walked along the rail bridge, did some trails, shopping & lunch. All in all, plenty to do in the area and we had such a great stay, I'd highly recommend this house to stay in for anyone looking to visit Snowdonia national park! Thanks again Brian & Delyth :) x

The house is excellent for a large group or in our case 2x families with the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. it was immaculate. Our exprience with Sykes Holidays was extremely dissapointing. I understand that Covid caused issues for businesses, but I could not get through on the telephone and emails were often not answered. We had questions - would 2x families be able to share the cottage? Also, I asked about changing dates and we did not receive any helpful response to this. Despite this poor customer service, we did have an excellent stay.
