  • "What a beautiful cottage."

    We absolutely loved it as did our dogs who loved the treats and the toys. The decor is so lovely, the bed was comfortable and there are loads of drawer space. The first couple of days ,the weather was cold and it was good to be able to put the central heating on. Upstairs is amazing and was my favourite place to sit while my husband sat in the living room in the big armchair. There are lots of books and games provided. The view from upstairs is lovely looking to the rocks and the waves washing over them. I especially loved all the seaside ornaments and little touches that made me feel at home. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to use. All in all we loved our holiday and the dogs had more walks than they ever get. We would highly recommend Jade cottage for anyone looking for a peaceful holiday in a beautiful environment.

  • "Jade Cottage is a nice, quiet and comfortable getaway, right on the shore front in Macduff."

    The sea views from the attic level reading room are great. The location provides a lovely balance of being peaceful yet only 5mins walk from the local shops / pubs. The locals are very friendly, and there are some stunning walking routes right on your doorstep. The cottage had pretty much everything that you'd need for a short break, along with a couple of nice personal touches too. Decor and furnishings are of a good standard, my only complaint would be that the paintwork is getting a little tired in a couple of spots, but this did not detract from making my stay a very enjoyable one. I would happily book again if I'm back in the area in the future.

    Had a fantastic, relaxing stay. The cottage is so comfortable and provides everything you require for you need . If you have a dog, the back garden is totally enclosed so they can wander freely. We would definitely stay again and MacDuff is so quiet and peaceful.

    Facilities great everything you could need home from home cottage is to a high standard .we did not use cooker or washing machine as we ate out all the time .The bed was super comfortable the reclining sofa was great as i suffer chronic pain so i could get very comfortable. What a super little cottage i would highly recommend it.

    The cottage was well equipped, everything we needed we found easily and instructions were obvious, relevant and easy to follow. It was our first visit to this stretch of coast and thoroughly enjoyed lots of beautiful wee villages and harbours. Saw and heard lots of interesting birds.

  • "Crackin, compact wee cottage perfectly situated on the shoreline and perfect for a couple."

    The only thing missing for a winter break is a log burner to turn cold, wet days and nights into a cosy retreat after a a day touring. Apart from that we will return in warmer months next year.

  • "Jade Cottage was a little gem of a place."

    It was beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable and we had a lovely fortnight exploring the Moray coast. We did find the cottage a little chilly in the cooler September weather and it would have been good to be able to make the radiators warmer, although there was always hot water.

MacDuff is situated on Banff Bay and overlooks its neighbouring town of Banff, just across the estuary of the River Deveron, on the Moray Coast in the north east of Scotland. Macduff enjoys stunning sea views and wonderful sunsets and the architecture reflects its maritime heritage. The north east coast of Scotland is a hidden gem, with its atmospheric fishing villages dotted along the coastline, making it a wonderful place for easy exploration. MacDuff has a busy working harbour. The town itself has a lot to offer with an excellent selection of shops and good restaurants and a visit to the MacDuff Aquarium is a must for seeing the species found in the waters of the Moray Firth. For Golfers, the Royal Tarlair course is a challenge as it is situated on precipitous cliffs and lost balls are never retrieved! Macduff is a wonderful town and an ideal holiday base.
