  • "Lovely apartment in great location."

We were aware of noise from guests in the apartment above but it didn't bother us. The only disappointment was the outside seating area which looked amazing in the photo on the website but had obviously been neglected and needed some attention.

It was the only one on the street that needed painting and the front was very untidy. The bathroom needs storage there was no toilet roll holder or any where for you tooth brushes. But the property inside was beautiful and the main bedroom was gorgeous. I would stay there again. Regards Arlene Bancroft

  • "This property is listed as sleeps 4, which it does, but the second bedroom is like an afterthought- a double bed pushed up against the wall, a wooden chair with a lamp on, a rail with a shelf underneath."

No bedside table, chest of drawers, or mirror even! There were 3 of us so my sister said she would have the 2nd bedroom but it’s really not acceptable. The bottle holder in the fridge door was broken which wasn’t mentioned beforehand. This meant that we couldn’t stand up any bottles. We laid the mild down and it leaked. The owner didn’t seem aware and said it couldn’t be fixed during our stay. There were 2 dinner plates. It’s accommodation for 4! We contacted the owner and 2 were delivered. The cooker hood didn’t work. The owner said they would have it looked at, but not during our stay. There are no coat hooks inside the property, but in the communal hallway. We weren’t prepared to hang our expensive walking coats out there. In the hall in the property, there is room for a coat rail, but instead there is a pointless bird cage which sticks out a long way and we all banged our heads on. There is nowhere to hang wet coats. The floor was sticky and dirty. The wifi, which only worked in the lounge, packed up after 3 days. The owner said it was an Openreach issue, so for the majority of our holiday we were using our phone data. There is no information about which days the bins are collected and no recycling bins that we could find.

We had 3 different groups staying above We could some times hear them moving about but luckily had no problem Could be a problem with more boisterous groups

It was warm, despite cold March weather, beautifully furnished and well equipped. The location is superb, very close to the sea and to all shops and amenities. Beaumaris is delightful and has exquisite views of the mountains across the Menai Strait.

  • "Once again, we have had a wonderful stay and really wouldn’t choose anywhere else due to location and our overall love for the property."

Really feels like home from home! It’s safe to say that some may complain about the nose level that comes from the property upstairs, particularly later on at night once our little ones were asleep, but we accepted that this is nobody’s fault. Perhaps a little polite notice could be left upstairs to just inform guests that noise can be heard and to just respect the guests below? Cleaners could go a little deeper under beds and around edges - I noticed the floor when plugging something in the spare bedroom was full of dust around edge of bed. Otherwise, the perfect stay! Can’t wait to return next year and as always I’m recommending to others.

  • "We loved our stay at Tri Raglan Bach."

The location was brilliant, the apartment was lovely with everything that we needed in it. Beaumaris was a gorgeous place to stay, with lots of little shops and places to eat and drink. Loved that the beach front was so nearby too. The only downside was that the bathroom had really not been cleaned very well, or to a standard that I would expect. There were all bits in the sink, a clump of hair on the floor and the shower edge. Overall, we had a lovely stay.

Milk and Welsh cakes appreciated, thank you to the owners! Two points just for consideration, key collection lock very difficult for us to open. Noise level from the upstairs apartment when occupied not ideal, and we personally may have to consider this before making other bookings, otherwise we would not hesitate!

  • "We had an enjoyable 4 days stay at Tri Raglan Bach, the location was just perfect for us, Beaumaris is just lovely."

The Welsh cakes and milk upon our arrival were very much appreciated. We felt it would benefit from a few items to assist guests staying; fire gloves for the wood burner, fire dustpan and brush to keep the hearth clean, pepper grinder, salad bowl, a large cafetière (fortunately I always take one away with me), a bedside table in the smaller bedroom. The bathroom extractor wasn’t working (sorry, I meant to leave a note before we left but I forgot) Also the soundproofing from upstairs is nonexistent, we found it to be extremely loud at times from the guests staying in the apartment . You can hear absolutely everything, it often sounded like they were jumping up and down and dragging furniture across the floor…(fortunately we only had to put up with this for 2 out of the 4 nights). Perhaps the owners need to invest in carpeting the upstairs apartment, this I’m sure would improve things no end. I’m not sure we would have stayed had I read the other complaints about the noise beforehand. A shame as it’s a really lovely apartment in a fabulous location, although I’d definitely return if the owners invested in carpeting the upstairs…. We still enjoyed our stay there though!

Thank you for your feedback We will arrange for the listed items to be provided although we did check last month and thought that the cupboards were well stocked. The bathroom fan has an isolator switch which will probably have been turned off, it will be checked. the main issue is the sound transference from upstairs, we have the feature original floor boards upstairs and have provided a lot of rugs to try to mask the sounds, clearly its insufficient We have discussed laying a sound insulation with new flooring on top, it is on our agenda to address the noise issue in the next couple of months before it gets too busy Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved this apartment."

It was clean, comfortable and a pleasure to be in. The location could not have been better. We had some issues with the WiFi not working which was a shame as it took up quite a bit of time corresponding with Sykes and the owner to resolve this. There was a top-up dongle shared with the apartment upstairs rather than actually having Wi-Fi. I understand this is a temporary fix whilst the owner is dealing with the internet provider. I think we got quite lucky that there was no one in the apartment upstairs for the majority of our stay as, on the night there was someone there, it is incredibly noisy (even with courteous neighbours). Every time someone walks the chandeliers rattle and every word can be heard. This would put us off booking again but we would return to stay in the upstairs one as we loved the apartment itself.

  • "Very disappointing."

The apartment itself was as advertised and in a clean state. However, family members of the owner tried to let themselves into the property close to midnight on the first night of our stay, arguing that our booking had been cancelled (even though I had all confirmation emails from Menai/Sykes for our booking and the property access details). There was at least two men trying to gain entry, and they were quite clearly intoxicated, and continued to insist that we were in the wrong. On asking them politely to leave, I rang the property owner who stated that we had no booking and that the fault was on us and was in no way apologetic. Due to this situation we were forced to leave the following morning, two nights early. At the time I was 7 months pregnant and this was the last holiday my husband and I had booked before the arrival of our baby, and this unpleasant confrontation unfortunately completely ruined it. We have since been seeking a refund for our stay based on the disruption and confrontation that occurred, but unfortunately Sykes and the owner have not provided this, and have not responded to us when they have agreed to. This is a real disappointment as I have previously used Sykes and been happy with the service but unfortunately I would no longer use any of their holiday cottages.

  • "Let us start by saying the holiday apartment was a decent bolt hold in Beaumaris."

The property was superbly located but feel owners need to pay more attention to it. It had the worst presented frontage of the street - no gate on hinges, top stone at gate wobbling off, paint peeling and weeds in pots! Inside the shower tray was muddy upon arrival, the courtyard at the back was dirty and full of cigarette ends. Both myself and my husband stood on shards of glass in the living room on two separate occasions! The cleaners informed us, upon our arrival, that the toaster was broken (and taken away) and the owners would replace later that day - we went all week without one! We feel the owners should consider more utensils in the kitchen (only one chopping knife and no grater etc) plus lack of storage space for self catering. Plus whole property was extremely noisy (we were lucky upstairs occupants were very considerate!) Other point we would like to note, one of our party is mildly allergic to feather pillows and there were no other pillows in the property! Overall we had a lovely stay, but hate to say it, a little bit too much style over substance. The owners are taking it for granted that the property sells itself due too location, and we felt they put in very minimal effort because of this and take their clients for granted.

Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The WiFi wasn't available for 4 of our 7 days there which was a shame as we would have liked to have used the smart TV more in the evenings. We would have liked a few extra bits of glasses and crockery, we only like to put the dishwasher on when it's full and we would often run out of dishes, but we just washed them, it wasn't the end of the world. The front door also didn't close. The apartment door would close but the front door wasn't secure. There is no parking but up until May 1st Street parking is free and unlimited so we never had any issues. The bedding was so clean and felt quite luxurious. All in all it was excellent. It was an amazing location and really nicely appointed..we would love to go again, we even extended our 4 nights to 7. If you're thinking about going here, just book it, you won't regret it.

Luckily we had no need to use that part of the fridge. Also one of the side lamp in the lounge, the light bulb had blown. I looked for a spare in the apartment, but no spares were in any of the cupboards. Even though we had these slight problems, we will hopefully be booking the apartment in the future.

The property

The owners have taken great pride in restoring this Grade 2 listed Georgian house in Beaumaris into a stunning luxury apartment.

Whilst retaining many of the original features such as the exposed brick and stone walls and the sanded and polished floorboards, the contemporary and quality furnishings gives this apartment a classic look.

The modern kitchen has an oven, hob, fridge with ice compartment, slimline dishwasher, microwave and toaster.

There is a dining table and four dining chairs.

The living area has a comfortable sofa and chair, window seat, wood burning stove and SMART TV. There are two double bedrooms one has a king size bed and the other has a double.

There is a wet room with shower, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. The rear private courtyard has garden furniture and there is a front shared courtyard with garden bench. As with most houses in Beaumaris there is no private parking.

The Green parking is very close by and you can purchase daily or weekly tickets. Tri Raglan Bach is on the ground floor and perfect for those who are not too keen on stairs.

Access to the seafront and the town of Beaumaris itself is also on one level.

The beach is a short walk away, with crabbing and fishing on the pier, coffee shops, ice cream parlours, independent shops and galleries, and the historic moated castle, gaol and courthouse. You will find a selection of bars, pubs and restaurants nearby.

We can recommend the local bakery for a fine loaf of bread, delicious pies and pasties and, of course, delicious cakes. If your party is large you could also book Tri Raglan Mawr which sleeps 8 people.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
