The property

Dunoon 5.3 miles.

Lewand Lodge is a characterful single-storey lodge in Innellan, Argyll and Bute, enjoying sea views, off-road parking, and an enclosed garden on the Cowal Peninsula coastline.

Suited to four guests and one well-behaved pet, this rustic wooden retreat places the shore just across the road, with views taking in Bute, Arran, Little Cumbrae, Great Cumbrae, Holy Isle and, on a clear day, Ailsa Craig.

Step inside and gather in the kitchen/diner, where all the essentials are on hand for preparing breakfasts before heading to the coast or evening meals after exploring.

Move into the sitting room to watch television together, or retreat to the snug for a change of scene.

Two double bedrooms provide space for everyone to turn in at the end of the day, with one featuring its own television, while a shower room with a walk-in shower completes the interior.

Outside, the enclosed garden invites you to dine on the patio, light the barbecue, and look towards the water as boats pass along the firth. Cross the road in Innellan and explore the beachfront, searching among the rock pools, coloured glass and unusual stones, or head towards Innellan Golf Club and the boating club at Toward Point Lighthouse.

Dunoon opens up further possibilities, from discovering local history at Castle House Museum to seeing its Victorian Pier and catching entertainment at the Queen's Hall.

Wildlife enthusiasts can also look out for seals, porpoises, dolphins and a rich variety of birdlife around the coastline.

Venture to historic Kilmun to visit its old church and mausoleum, discover the connections to Clan Campbell, then follow a trail through the arboretum.

From shoreline discoveries to days exploring the Cowal Peninsula, make Lewand Lodge the starting point for your Argyll and Bute adventure.

DUNOON

Glasgow 36 miles.

The traditional resort town of Dunoon sits on the Cowal Peninsula in Argyll on the west coast of Scotland. Accessible by both land and sea, the trip to Dunoon can either be a ferry crossing over the Firth of Clyde, considered to be one of the best sailing areas in the world, or by a drive through spectacular scenery of dramatic mountains and lochs, each more breathtaking than the last. The area boasts a full calendar of events from food and music festivals to sailing regattas and a well-known Highland Gathering. Dunoon itself boasts many bars, coffee shops and restaurants offering local seafood as well as a high street of mainly independent shops offering a refreshingly different shopping experience. Benmore Botanic Garden is well worth a visit with its walled garden, imposing Giant Sequoia trees and hillside walks affording views over Holy Loch, renowned for its shipbuilding tradition and which, for many years, was a US Navy submarine base. With excellent walking, sailing and scenery to be enjoyed, and Glasgow around an hour's drive away, there is something to delight everyone in this truly beautiful part of Scotland.
